Amos condemns Israel's aristocracy for hypocritical religiosity and oppressing the poor. He warns them of God's impending wrath, urging repentance before God's patience runs out, but the aristocracy ignored this warning because they were trusting in their political system and material wealth.

In a world with prosperity abounding, the question of significance and fulfillment remains. We instinctually pursue good things and yet, those things do not fill our hearts and leave us longing for more. This Sunday, Marc walks us through Jesus' statement, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. (John 6:35)" We discuss how our ultimate need is to know Jesus and find our fulfillment in his saving grace.

This is a repost of my 2020 interview with Elliot Easton of The Cars. Elliot talks about his about his incredible career with The Cars as well as his current band Empty Hearts--featuring Clem Burke from Blondie and Wally Palmar of The Romantics. It's a great conversation with one of the most astonishing guitar players ever.
This episode originally aired on April 19th, 2021. Steve Cooper talks with musician Clem Burke. Clem is best known for being the drummer for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Blondie. Blondie emerged as the great pop icons of New York's celebrated late '70s new wave punk scene and achieved commercial success in the late 1970's and early 1980's with number 1 hit singles Atomic, Heart of Glass, Sunday Girl, Call Me, Rapture, and The Tide is High. During periods of inactivity with Blondie during the 1980s and 1990s, he played with a number of well respected artists and bands, including: Bob Dylan, Pete Townshend, Iggy Pop, The Ramones, Chequered Past, The Romantics, and Joan Jett. Perhaps the most notable collaboration was with Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) who he helped record the Grammy-winning hit Missionary Man. Lately Between Blondie tours, he has been recording and touring with his other musical collaborations, the Split Squad and the Empty Hearts. Mild spoilers for every Bill & Ted thing that exists ever. You'd be surprised just how much there is. Not as surprised at the length with which Gab and SJ talk about it though. Believe it or not, there's a lot more where this came from. This version of their session includes: getting deep about two dudes, himbo appreciation, excessive amounts of brain rot, and A LOT of ideas for a Bill & Ted web show (e-mail us, don't be shy). In order to be "good," we must remove bad, yet many of us, just like the Israelites, remove bad without replacing it with what our souls really need. We all are created for the purpose of being in a relationship with God and glorifying God. With this in mind, it is important for us to understand that we must replace our sinfulness with godliness, or else we will find ourselves continuing to struggle with the same sins and sinful human nature until we finally do allow ourselves to be filled with the Holy Spirit of God. In today's episode, we will look at a passage of scripture in which Jesus speaks of unclean spirits being cast out of people. Though it may seem strange to us as modern Americans, it is a perfect picture of the way we live as religious people. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rumination/support

People have a great ability to fool other people. In fact, there's an entire industry built around that ability and it's called-acting. Top paid actors pull in millions of dollars for every project they're involved in. Apart from all those actors though are every day people who are still able to act and often do so every day. They pretend to be one thing when they are not. They pull the wool over the eyes of other people. The best of these people are sometimes referred to as con artists because they have perfected ways to manipulate people through expressed words and apparent feelings. There are many examples of people being conned out of fortunes by brilliant con artists.
