Today I'll be speaking with Kohn Glay, a gifted shadow work coach. I found Kohn on TicTok after his video on shadow work went viral…like 42M + viral. He goes live on YouTube to share his wisdom and to support his growing community to do the shadow work for themselves. Kohn started doing this work after the tragic loss of his son who was just 16 years old. He used his platform to pour love and blessings into others as a way to deal with his grief and it now reaches millions of people. I learned a lot as he helped me through the Shadow Work Journal and I think you'll get a lot out of this conversation as well.   This conversation will be one of the topics of The Self-Help Junkie series. Agley is an adverb that means askew or wrong.  The precise origin of our word of the day is unknown, but we do know it comes from the Scottish word gley (GLAY) which means ‘squint.' Here's an example of agley in use: I knew something was agley in the kitchen when I walked into the house. When I immediately caught the scent of baked cookies in the air, I knew exactly what was askew. Donna had made cookies earlier that day and failed to invite me!

This week, join us as we speak to pioneering all-femme Japanese hard rock/heavy metal band Show-Ya! Dropping no less than 8 solid albums of smooth yet punchy keyboard and guitar driven hard rock leaning ever more towards metal between 1985 and 1990, bluesy frontwoman Keiko Terada and "the three Mikis" ("Captain" Nakamura, "Sun-Go" Igarashi and "Mittan" Tsunoda) alongside Satomi Senba on bass were so well beloved as to be tapped for a major Coca Cola campaign in the days when rock and metal were still considered "scary" persona non grata to mainstream society. Over the course of a mere 5 years, the unusually prolific band subtly shifted style from their very anime style early sound to something more akin to American metal and even a bit of the Hollywood Guns N Roses sound (on the English lyriced songs of Hard Way) before Terada departed for a successful solo career. Soldiering on for two further releases with fellow J-rock maiden Steffanie (Borges) and the punkier Yoshino, Show-Ya finally closed up shop in the 90's. But a 20th reunion tour of the original lineup in 2005 led to renewed interest in the band, inclusive of two successive sets of remasters (the latter with bonus tracks like the aforementioned Coke commercial, surprisingly catchy tune that it is), and by 2012 they were back in studio, releasing material that sounded surprisingly like their mid 80s heyday, and even an all covers album that features their takes on hits from nearly every great J-rock and J-metal band of the 80's and 90's, from Luna Sea, X and Kyosuke Himuro's Boowy to Loudness, Earthshaker, Glay and L'Arc en Ciel. Now partnering with Blizard's Nozumu Wakai as songwriting partner and producer, they've released an album that simultaneously sounds familiar and uniquely new in Showdown, which gets international release through Metalville this coming month. Irashai honorável ouvinte! É com muita alegria que faço a estréia do Som Nascente, um podcast de um ocidental que recebe ondas sonoras orientais. In this second episode of two, Tara discusses the ways the tongue can cause tension in our singing voice and make it feel or sound different. She helps singers know what to observe to see if there is any tension in the tongue and gives them some practical vocalises to make sure the tongue stays relaxed, loose and free.   (1:10) The tongue is a muscular organ made up of 8 muscles connected to the hyoid bone.   (3:19) Where the tongue is located during certain consonants:  d or t —the tongue is by the aveolar ridge   (3;47) k or g consonants—the back of the tongue lifts by our soft palate   (4:31) th consonants voiced and unvoiced —the tip of the tongue is gliding   (5:16) American r consonant — the  tongue is curled, retracted or half suspended   (7:10) How can you tell if your tongue causes tension? There are at least two ways to tell: 1. Grabbing your tongue while it is sticking out of your mouth and trying to keep it  forward while you sing. 2. Hold your hands in thumbs up position. Put your thumb under your chin and see if it  feels hard or soft.   (11:54) Exercises to help release tongue tension:   1. Glay-glah.      Say it and then sing it 1-2-1-2-1-2-1   (12:37) 2. Our fifth interview at Kumoricon 2018 is with TeddyLoid. TeddyLoid started his career as MIYAVI's DJ and sound producer by joining his world tour when he was only 18 years old. He also produced the OST for the GAINAX anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt with ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo). He has also had experience in units with Shibasaki Ko and DECO*27, established galaxias!, worked on the album "TOXIC" for the GazettE, and has produced "Neo STARGATE" for Momoiro Clover Z. In 2013, TeddyLoid had a guest appearance at Seibu Dome Taikai. Furthermore, he has provided BGM to the anime Mekakucity Actors. TeddyLoid has also produced Vocaloid IA tracks and remixes, Square Enix's Mugen∞Knights, and WRECKING CREW ORCHESTRA's new long production SUPERLOSERZ SAVE THE EARTH, directed by Amon Miyamoto. In 2014 he produced the music for the viral hit short movie ME!ME!ME, which was visualized by Hibiki Yoshizaki and vocals sang by DAOKO.TeddyLoid debuted as a solo artist by releasing his EP from King Records' EVIL LINE RECORDS in August 2014, "UNDER THE BLACK MOON" and his first album "BLACK MOON RISING" in September. In summer 2015, he started "Momoiro Clover Z×TeddyLoid Remix Project" and released an official remix album, "Re:MOMOIRO CLOVER Z". In Momoiro Clover Z's big summer event Momoshinsai 2015, he performed the opening act as DJ. In December, he released his first collaboration product with 12 tracks and 14 sets of guests on "SILENT PLANET" as his original 2nd album. The guests included big names like Tetsuya Komuro, Yasutaka Nakata, HISASHI from GLAY, KOHH, and more.In 2016, TeddyLoid produced two tracks for HAL College of Technology & Design, one of which, titled "Daisuki with TeddyLoid", was a commercial with Hibiki Yoshizaki and vocals by DAOKO. 日本流行音乐（英语：Japanese POP，简称J-Pop或JPOP）是指日本的流行音乐。此名称是在1988年由日本一家广播电台J-WAVE首先使用，并曾经用它来代表“新音乐”，其后在日本被广泛地用来归类受西洋影响的现代音乐，包括了流行音乐、RAP、摇滚、舞曲、嘻哈和灵魂音乐。现代日本流行音乐基本上从日本传统音乐演变而成，当中的转变当中最早可以追溯到1960年代，西方摇滚音乐的兴起。披头四和海滩男孩等组合启发了日本音乐界，于1969年组成的Happy End就尝试把摇滚音乐和日本传统音乐混合[1]。1970年代晚期，新浪潮开始，将流行音乐和摇滚乐合二为一的南方之星定义了新一代的J-POP[2]，最终在1980年代末，J-POP取代歌谣曲，成为了日本流行音乐的主流[3]。截至2011年，日本拥有世界最大的实体音乐市场。2011年，日本的实体唱片市场（仅计算单曲，专辑与音乐录影带销量）年产值达到约31亿美元，占世界市场之30%，为世界第一大实体音乐市场（30%现时日本大部分的影音商店都会将音乐分成四种，分别是J-pop、演歌、古典乐及英语／国际。有些音乐则融合了演歌和J-pop，例如安全地带和中岛美雪。1990年－1994年：Being系时代。Being的领导者长户大幸与织田哲郎也受到极高推崇，可说是小室哲哉之前“音乐制作人”这一职业极致的代名词。“低调”是旗下歌手的一大特色，其歌手除演唱会与音乐节目外，不常公开露面，极少参与综艺节目、广告代言，广告宣传也相对较少。代表人物：ZARD、TUBE、WANDS、B&`&z等。其中B&`&z至今仍为日本音乐史上总销量第一的歌唱单位。 坂井泉水，1994年－1997年：小室时代。小室哲哉这位可谓传奇的音乐制作人，此时期将电子舞曲推上了高峰。他负责的著名艺人包括：TRF、安室奈美惠、globe等。小室哲哉制作的唱片总销量至今已达到1亿7000万。代表人物：小室哲哉、安室奈美惠、globe、TRF等。1997年－1999年：乐团时代。数个视觉系色彩的乐团在此数年间得到了巨大成功，1997年11月，GLAY推出了精选辑REVIEW-BEST OF GLAY，卖出487万张，打破历史纪录。1999年7月，彩虹乐队同时发行Ark与Ray，两张合计初动达300万。代表人物：GLAY、彩虹乐队、LUNA SEA（ 月之海）等，在下一期JROCK，日式摇滚中会介绍其他在整个90年代也拥有重大影响力的乐团包括恰克与飞鸟、Mr.Children、南方之星、美梦成真、X JAPAN、SPITZ、小事乐团等。除此之外，大黑摩季、槙原敬之、福山雅治等歌手的销量当时亦纷纷破千万。歌姬时代（1999年 - 2003年）滨崎步，日本史上销量最高个人歌手。（超过4800万）1999年3月10日，16岁的新人歌手宇多田光发表了出道专辑《First Love》，销量达到了765万，再次打破了历史纪录，而此一纪录至今再也无人能挑战。她的出现引领了日本R&B曲风之大开，并使往后数年市场呈女性个人歌手强势的情况。仓木麻衣出道于1999年，当时的日本业界正处于小室家族的势力减退，及MISIA、宇多田光等R&B歌手流行的全盛年代。仓木麻衣在这风潮中成功出道，并于2000年在ORICON全年排行榜中得到单曲总销量1位、专辑总销量及艺人类别的第2位，之后其第二张专辑《PERFECT CRIME》及精选专辑《Wish You The Best》也录得百万的销量。代表人物[编辑]宇多田光、滨崎步、仓木麻衣、椎名林檎、MISIA、aiko、岛谷瞳、小柳由纪、SMAP、铃木亚美、BOA。歌姬与小室家族女歌手的特色多半都偏女高音，歌曲难度高。多样化（2003年 - 2009年）约从2003年开始，宇多田光与滨崎步两人的号召力渐渐减退，其他类型歌手团体开始受到广泛欢迎，例如EXILE、无限开关、杰尼斯系团体如岚、KAT-TUN等，音乐市场重新变得多样化。2003年，SMAP的单曲兼代表作《世界上唯一的花》在Oricon公信榜总共7周占据冠军位置，并以绝对的优势成为2003年度日本单曲销量冠军，总销量接近260万张，成为日本史上销量第9高的单曲。2005年开始，德永英明VOCALIST男声系列掀起了一股老歌翻唱旋风，该系列在日本达到销售近700万张的辉煌成绩。2008年，老牌歌手安室奈美惠发行02年后所有歌曲精选专辑《BEST FICTION》，累计销量高达170万，当年即拿下日本唱片大赏。代表人物[编辑]AKB48、早安少女组、SMAP、幸田来未、中岛美嘉、EXILE、Perfume、YUI、绚香、西野加奈、生物股长偶像战国时代（2010年－）[编辑]桃色幸运草Z，最年轻兼为首支于国立霞丘陆上竞技场进行演唱会的女子组合踏入2010年代，各个偶像团体均在日本音乐界获得成功，尤其以岚和AKB48最为突出。值得注意的是，部分独立歌手于偶像团体的激烈竞争下仍然能在唱片市场获得一定的销量和关注，例如福山雅治、宇多田光、安室奈美惠和YUI四人于2013年的“最受欢迎艺人”中也跻身Top 20，并分别获得第4、6、11及16位[17]。
