Find Greg onlinehttps://www.gregfaxon.com/aboutFind us onlinehttps://impactfulcoachingpodcast.com/Show Notes3:05 Joseph asks Greg about the significance of paddleboarding on a Wednesday, looking to learn about its ritualistic value. Through it, Joseph shares some of his ideas on how to uniquely structure a week and asks Greg in turn, what unique structure he's brought to his own table. 8:17 Joseph and Greg follow up this conversation by acknowledging the value in a structured workplace as it relates to human physiology. Greg shares how the first hour of his day is the best time to work with the goal of generating revenue10:45 Joseph asks Greg to define his role; he helps clients fill their roster faster. Greg initially worked in marketing and found a struggle early on to be taken seriously as a life coach. 15:25 reflecting on his observation when it comes to something as pedestrian as cereal, Joseph notes the importance of having value to provide upfront and asks Greg if he's seen marketing strategies that subvert this foundational matter. 19:25 Joseph asks Greg to share some of the limiting beliefs he faced as an early twenty-year old trying to make his way in coaching, but conversely what edge his marketing background gave him.23:43 Focusing more on limiting beliefs, Greg talks about issues being faced both by newcomer and veteran coaches alike. Most people who get to 10k find that they needed to quit other things and narrow down to your profitable offers and niches. 26:48 Greg demystifies a common myth about the coaching space as it relates to selectively working in group settings rather than 1on1 as 1on1 can seem the least ideal when it comes to revenue. 31:33 Joseph asks about any specific examples of niche pivoting, aside from the example Greg provides, he also indicates that many if not most coaches are prone to pivot in their career. Greg's example is a productivity coach, who pivoted from helping moms to entrepreneurs, same problem but more impactful clients. 36:20 Handling mistakes and pushback from customers and clients is never fun or easy, Joseph asks Greg what are the keys to handling negative feedback, involving having a secure system in place and a paper trail. Joseph also gives some time to explore the other side of being the customer and raising objections.41:00 Joseph doesn't anticipate how enthused Greg is about his “rock paper scissors” philosophy to conflict resolution, so Joseph shares how people have different conversational edges over each other. 47:04 Joseph asks Greg to paint a holistic picture of the coaching world, he breaks it down into niches; b2b/b2c, there are roughly ten, business, exec, relationship. Joseph ties it together by talking about the quiz he took. 54:39 we close out the episode talking about challenges Greg's business is facing, he talks about trying to stay in his lane and stay focused.

Deb Williams is an accountant, money coach and podcaster committed to helping others not only identify their money story, but to move through it to a place of prosperity and joy. Deb takes us on a little journey that led her to the move from happiness into joy. She describes growing up in a home with addiction and then marrying an addict/alcoholic. Only in her 30’s did she truly realizing how dysfunctional the situation was for she and her young children. Twelve step work (with Adult Children of Alcoholics) was instrumental in her understanding the madness that she had grown up thinking was normal. She acknowledges that you never graduate from the program of life. Deb became a Certified Public Accountant and worked primarily in that world, until she decided to make a shift in the way that she was working and living. Recently she created a new reality of walking and talking differently through a process that took about four years. She reached a stage where she realized that she didn’t have to be the CPA that she thought she was supposed to be. She realized that she was trying to make a statement all along. Her life shifted by dropping her judgments and “victim mentality.” She no longer needed that to be validated. The “listening” part of addiction work led her to believe that coaching could be a new direction for her own career to shift. Deb describes her process of finding clarity in her direction as being, ”like a puzzle,” where you can only see part of it a time until it all begins to come together. She had to lose everything, marriage, kids leaving home, losing her investments/retirement…until she was ready to shift her lifestyle. She felt that everything was running simultaneously on different tracks. She says that her fear was based around losing what she thought mattered to her, when really it didn’t matter at all. Community was part of what brought her into a space that enabled her to reclaim her power and “be enough”. Exercise and a healthier lifestyle increase her awareness on many levels, as she found her own way of doing movement. Deb has used coaches that have been polar opposites in approach, spirituality and/or ability, in order to hone skills that she knew that she needed, to be successful in the new direction that her life has been taking. She says she is in the process of developing a consistent lifestyle including a commitment to taking brave actions. She began the company of Financial Karma, which includes a podcast. Her clients learn their financial archetypes and become bravely aware of their money story. She discusses depression and how people use their depression as a mask to hide behind their greatness. Today, she wants to inspire women who are willing to talk about their emotions and the connection to their “big picture” money story. She tries to help others bring awareness and realize their dreams. Some simple changes that Deb recommends are: "Find an exercise that you are already ready to start doing." "Get out of your own way." “Embrace others and validate them. Use what you know. Be willing to try new things. Be brave…keep getting up and doing things that you believe in…” To learn more about Deb Williams, please contact her via email deb@financialkarmacoach.com. Greg Faxon is a coach who works with high-achieving entrepreneurs and converts them into champions. He believes these individuals are the multipliers of society. Greg has a background as an athlete, first a wrestler and then Obstacle Course Racing where mud and trail runs present mental and physical challenges. Greg is intent on changing how the world tackles poverty, so he’s making his own difference through a non-profit organization called Acumen. Greg’s goal is bold; he says: “By the end of my life, I want to have helped more people unleash their full potential than any other person in the world.Contact InfoWebsite: www. GregFaxon.com Most Influential PersonTara BrachEffect on EmotionsI think it's helped me with that roller coaster that we mentioned. It's helped me create less high highs and less low lows, and have them be not so dependent on outside circumstances. Have me be the agent of how those emotions play out. For example, in the past, I would get really excited if I got a new great client and really bummed out if someone said no, but now there's no attachment, emotionally, to that process. I'm good ether way emotionally. There's maybe things strategically that I can change or improve, but I think that's been one of the biggest ways, helping me have not such big fluctuations in them.Thoughts on BreathingI really do mindful meditation, so it's all focused on the breathing. I don't do mantra based stuff so I think it's all through breath. To me, breathing is huge, breathing is the center of everything.Suggested ResourcesBook: Radical Acceptance by Tara BrachBook: Don't Let the Fear Win by Greg FaxonApp: Insight TimerAdvice for Newbie I would say, to do the 60 second thing for a week. Set a really low bar for yourself. 60 seconds, focus on your breathing, count your breath. It's like with habit formation, people talk about it, if you want to form a new flossing habit, just floss your front teeth for a week. That's so easy, you have to do it. Then eventually you feel, that's kind of silly, I need to floss more than that and so you've do it on your own when you have those quick wins. I would say commit to a week of 60 second breathing.

Reengineering your Passion Introducing Greg Faxon There are many people out there that need some help reorganizing their lives and businesses. Some people are in an unfulfilling job, and others are in the midst of a startup and need guidance. Even seasoned entrepreneurs need a kick-start from time to time to reengineer their business to work for their needs. A great way to navigate the path of where you are to where you want to be is to invest in a coach. Greg Faxon is an executive coach who experienced a lot of dissatisfaction at his previous job. It wasn't that it wasn't a great job; he was working in market research and consulting around the world. Greg knew that he was a long way from the boardroom and some parts of his job just made him feel brain dead. He decided to make a change for the better by hiring his own personal coach, which eventually led him down the path of opening up his own coaching business. Now, Greg finds himself helping the very same type of people that he was like not too long ago. Check out this week's episode of Boiling Point to get the scoop on coaching and lessons on how you can take the next step toward your own personal gratification. In this episode Greg Hemmings tells us how he met and got to know the other Greg. Greg Faxon tells us his origin story of what made him go into coaching. Greg goes on to tell us how he was inspired while jogging through the zoo and the parallels he saw between himself and the wolves. He tells us how hiring his own coach expedited his personal journey, uncovered hidden fears, and set him on a path toward success. We learn why coaching is a better way to go than just reading a book or taking a seminar in personal development. Greg tells us about his B.R.A.V.E. Business Framework. We learn how our host, Greg's favorite part of the coaching experience was the accountability it provided. We also learn what this accountability means and that it isn't just a “homework buddy”. We also hear how Greg got an important message on bravery from Seth Godin. Dave likes Greg's cerebral approach and his ability to educate quickly so that people can understand what they are consuming. Greg Hemmings appreciates that though accountability was his favorite part of the coach relationship that it must be the type of accountability that eliminates co-dependence. Greg Faxon went from market research consulting to finding his path as a personal coach to help people find their "true north"! Connect with Greg Faxon! Greg Faxon Before Greg Faxon became a personal coach, he helped Fortune 500 companies nail their market research and strategy. Greg studied the psychology of emotions at Wesleyan University and took an improv class at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Greg Faxon crawled under barbed wire and carried 80-pound sandbags up a ski slope to become a nationally ranked Spartan Racer. He had tea with a Buddhist monk in the Himalayas of Bhutan, then fought off hypothermia and altitude sickness in a tent while trapped in a snow storm. During high school, he became a Prep All-American wrestler after going 0-2 at the tournament as a freshman. In college, Greg made a rap music video in American Sign Language that was featured on the Huffington Post and then faced brutal criticism from the Deaf community. Greg Faxon made it through a long-distance relationship for three years with my girlfriend Emma, joined her in DC, then agreed to move into a rundown farmhouse in West Virginia with her to start The Riverside Project. He has gone sky-diving, bungee jumping, and he almost drowned in a Costa Rican riptide. But the scariest (and bravest) thing he has done so far is put himself and his work out into the world with total transparency so that other people can do the same.
