With a true mix of con experience, from Meg, a seasoned SWC veteran, to Holly who has never been to a convention, ever, this episode covers just about anything and everything there is to discuss. From panels, guests, and the lottery system, to what to bring, and what NOT TO DO, this episode has got you covered! In this latest episode of Rebel Dispatch, Holly, Klaudia, and Manda sit down and chat about the latest two episodes of Resistance… and MANAGE TO STAY ON TOPIC THE ENTIRE EPISODE! [Well, 90% of it anyway]. Plenty of time is spent on everyone’s new favourite gay space uncles, Flix and Orka, because there’s just no way they’re NOT a thing, right? Beyond that, Kaz’s similarities to other male Star Wars leads (especially Finn), Synara’s fate and future, and Tam’s continued rule as The Love Of Our Life, are also talked and/or yelled about. Also, Queen’s Shadow is out soon! And Celebration is getting scarily close! It’s the first episode of Rebel Dispatch for 2019 and the whole crew is on board! Holly, Klaudia and Manda sit down and discuss the Resistance shorts released over the break, the Resistance mid-season trailer, and the latest episode, ‘Bibo’. On top of discussing how nice it was to have a Neeku-centred episode, and how frustrating it is to not yet see Tam front and centre, Klaudia felt the need to have some quality Tentacle Talk, and Manda made us sad... again. As always, Rebel Dispatch can be found on Twitter @_RebelDispatch and can be contacted by email at rebeldispatchpod@gmail.com. Please feel free to contact us with any feedback, questions, or potential future discussion points! Hosts Holly, Klaudia, and Manda can be found on Twitter at @_Hollytweets, @Kaludiasays, and @MandaTheGinger, respectively. May The Force be with us all.
Goodbye TwentyGayteen, and hello TwentyBiteen! In this episode of Rebel Dispatch, Holly, Klaudia and Manda discuss the latest lot of Galaxy of Adventure shorts, as well as the Resistance mid-season finale, including how well the show is developing new characters while also adding some much appreciated depth to ‘older’ characters such as Poe… and Manda (the #galacticdowner) drops ANOTHER sad headcanon. And, because it’s the last episode of 2018, a good chunk of time is spent looking forward to painfully exciting year that is to come for the Galaxy Far, Far Away. Everything Star Wars, including TV, movies, books, comics, theme parks, Battlefront II, and CELEBRATION!!! is discussed, and some likely horrifically incorrect guesses are made in regards to title reveals and trailer drops. As always, Rebel Dispatch can be found on Twitter @_RebelDispatch and can be contacted by email at rebeldispatchpod@gmail.com. Please feel free to contact us with any feedback, questions, or potential future discussion points! “... I name my porgs” In this episode of Rebel Dispatch Holly, Klaudia and Manda are all together to discuss Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures, and the two latest episodes of Resistance, including Captain Doza’s relationship with the First Order, Yeager’s relationship with his brother, and the idea of droids babysitting children (including BB-8’s future role, to be explored in an animated series in a few years time!). Also, the excitement for what’s to come in 2019 is REAL. As always, Rebel Dispatch can be found on Twitter @_RebelDispatch and can be contacted by email at rebeldispatchpod@gmail.com. “Got to keep that… coupling safe” The crew is all aboard again for Episode 6 and, oh boy, there is plenty to talk about! First up, Holly, Manda, and Klaudia discuss the Latinos in Space! news and ponder Diego Luna’s chances of getting to touch his beloved Jabba. Following on from that, the latest episodes of Resistance, ‘Signal from Sector Six’ and ‘Synara’s Score’, are discussed at length, with an actual maintained focus on the different relationships developed and on show in both episodes. And, of course, the big gay elephant in the room is addressed because, uh, it’s not every day you get some HEAVY queer (wlw especially!) subtext in a Star War.
“This is some Amazon dystopia!” In this episode of Rebel Dispatch, Holly, Klaudia, and Manda discuss the two latest episodes of Resistance, ‘The High Tower’ and ‘The Children from Tehar’. There’s some lengthy discussion about the political messages within both episodes, from the power dynamics on the Colossus, to our dear friend Comrade Neeku. A surprisingly lengthy amount of time is also spent discussing Kylo Ren, as well as everyone’s favourite Imperial, Rae Sloane. And, of course, it wouldn’t be an episode of Rebel Dispatch without some quality Queer Talk (and hey, we had actual material to discuss this time!), and some Episode IX theorising thrown in for good measure. Oh, and very importantly, there’s some Cape Conspiracy Theories.
“Oh my god, it’s a Waffle House” In this episode of Rebel Dispatch, Holly and Klaudia are joined by the third host of the pod, Manda! All three hosts are finally together and there’s plenty to talk about! After discussing the Chuck Wendig situation, more time is spent sharing hopes, fears and expectations for The Mandalorian than any of the hosts honestly ever expected (can we dare say: cautiously optimistic?). But, of course, the true feature of the episode is discussion around the first 3 (or 4, depending on how you’re counting it) episodes of Star Wars: Resistance. It’s positivity all round as discussion goes deep into the politics of The Colossus, first impressions of the characters, theories on who’s secretly working for the First Order, and, of course, some quality Queer Talk.
Oh dear, it’s uh... been a week, hasn’t it? In this episode of Rebel Dispatch, Holly and Klaudia are joined by their first ever guest and good friend of the pod, Chris (@ChrisHSwift) to discuss all the recent happenings concerning Star Wars: Resistance. The Rachel Butera incident is discussed first up, and we’ll take this moment to remind you all to BELIEVE SURVIVORS, don’t be an ass. The many facets of this incident are discussed, from it being straight up awful, to what it means for it to have been the voice actress for LEIA, OF ALL CHARACTERS, to have done it. Moving on from that, the recently released cast interviews on the Star Wars Show, the “Aces” video, and the Resistance trailer are all discussed at great length. These discussions bring up such highlights as: arguments over Dave Filoni, Chris threatening a droid, and declaring Christopher Sean to be the Oscar Isaac of animated Star Wars. And of course, it wouldn’t be an episode of Rebel Dispatch without occasional deviations, this time including petitioning for the Days of Our Lives writers to write for Star Wars, Poe Dameron’s pants in TLJ and Episode IX, and of course, discussing how gay we wish Episode IX would be. As always, Rebel Dispatch can be found on Twitter @_RebelDispatch and can be contacted by email at rebeldispatchpod@gmail.com. Please feel free to contact us with any feedback, questions, or any potential future discussion points! Hosts Holly and Klaudia can also be found on Twitter @_Hollytweets and @Kaludiasays and guest Chris can be found @ChrisHSwift. May The Force be with all us.
PODRACING PODRACING PODRACING! In this episode of Rebel Dispatch, Holly and Klaudia sit down and discuss the recent wave of Star Wars: Resistance news, including the poster, featurette, and character databank entries. Wild speculation ensues; just what is Leia Bun Girl's deal? Is there a First Order spy amongst this new group? Can we get a [pod!]racing game out of this show? And just WHAT is Tam wearing on her feet? Discussion also moves beyond Resistance to include the realisation that Kylo Ren is just Disneybounding as Vader, remembering the good old days of the Chamber of Secrets console game, and some Episode IX Lowkey Fears. Welcome to the very first episode of Rebel Dispatch! In this episode, Holly and Klaudia introduce themselves (and the pod) and then dive right into it with a rewatch of the Resistance trailer, live reactions included! Following that, they discuss hopes and expecations for the show, what it means for exisiting characters, how much sleep Poe Dameron needs and if he's technically a hypocrite, things other animated TV shows do right that Resistance should follow, the diversity of the cast and characters, positive representation for kids, the likelihood of political undertones, and the potential for appearances by other characters such as Finn, Holdo, Kylo Ren, Snoke, and ANIMATED HUX!!!
