Being inside without your own personal outdoor space is really hard when you have energetic kids who love being outdoors, who need plenty of physical activity on a daily basis (as we all do!) and who are naturally inquisitive and fascinated by the natural world. As my children have grown older I have become more and more aware of how important getting outside for exercise is, and while everyone benefits from doing it every day, it can be really hard to motivate yourself. So in this week's episode I'm offering 7 ways I have found to get outside on a regular basis. I talk about... Why breakfast picnics are the greatest way to start the day (when you can be prepared for it!) The pleasure of growing your own vegetables and the surprising benefit to fussy eaters How to do messy and sensory play outdoors when you don't have your own garden The surprising benefit not driving has - and why everyone should sometimes behave as if they don't drive I finish with a musing on whether not having the option to drive naturally forces my children to walk or cycle more simply because they don't have a choice. Although I am very aware of the importance of getting outdoors regularly, especially for children, I am also aware that without a garden I am limited by my mood, energy and time available, and so I am realistic about what can be achieved within these limitations! On the Secret Witch Show today we have Salena Walker.  Salena lives off-grid in the woods. She loves growing organic herbs, flowers, fruit and vegetables and focusing on creating a healthy body, healthy mind and healthy planet. Her mission in life is to connect others to their internal and external environment, focusing on what they drink, eat, breathe, think - and even excrete!   Her real deep dive into the world of naturopathy and nutrition began back in 2008 when she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Pernicious Anaemia. She started her studies with the intention of learning and she healed my autoimmune dis-ease and ended up becoming a practitioner, a naturopathic teacher, writer and a motivational wellness speaker!   In this episode we begin to understand the importance of rewilding for the Secret Witch.  We illuminate how the Wild can help us discover our truth and power. We dive into how we can talk to the Wild and let it speak to us, what we can learn from the wild's cycles, how we can take powerful, Soul-aligned action to align with nature, and how the wild can help us connect to our bodies.   What You'll Learn from this Episode:   Why our bodies need rewilding - we can so often think we are on track to having our dream life when we are living unconsciously in this spiritless society, but it may not be fulfilling and can leave us feeling we are lacking - and our bodies can take the physical hit on that.   The best way to navigate our lacking of wildness is to begin to listen in deeper to our wisdom and the wisdom of the natural world We *are* the wild - in fact, we are wild *animals* so we need to be exposed to the wild in order to thrive and balance our inner and outer worlds We need to give ourselves permission to invite the wild in and then get intimate with it.  There's no right or wrong way of doing this, so let yourself be guided by intuition  Every interaction with the wild should be intentional to harness the real magic of it, so we simply need to set an intention for our interaction with the wild and how it can support us in reclaiming our power and creating a magical life. Our bodies are made up of trillions of cells and the wild can help us look after them.  If we eat food from the wild that supports our cells, it becomes inevitable to eat a more plant-based diet because we are only putting things in our body that it longs for.  However, we have to meet our body where it's at and start small.  Our bodies and the wild all operate on natural cycles - nature and the female body are both cyclical - e.g. the moon has a cycle.  Again, there's no right or wrong, but to connect back into a rhythm with it, bathe in the full moon to remind your body what it should be doing. Our Wild Witch can be found in nature, and we need to give ourselves permission to find her there. Just 9 ingredients in this pure reef safe sunscreen formula that protects you, your children, our beautiful coral reefs and valuable ecosystems. We interviewed the founder and creator of The Kind Sunscreen, Emma Corrie, and heard what got her started, why she persisted and what a difference choosing The Kind Sunscreen can make. Reef-safe sunscreens are important because active ingredients in common sunscreens wash off our skin and into our marine environments - 14,000 tons of sunscreen each year wash into our coral reefs!!!! Our Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven wonders of the world and across the world the world's coral reefs cover approximately 11,000 square miles of sea floor and are some of the most diverse ecosystems and some of the most enjoyable places for us to visit. As the trends for clean living, sustainable living and eco living are all gaining momentum sunscreen ingredients have been under increasing scrutiny by conscious consumer especially as we've all become more away of what shouldn't be included in skin care products. The interest in mineral sunscreens has expanded with this trend coupled with the desire to choose a Reef Safe Sunscreen.

Alex is with entrepreneur Mani Yanika, CEO of MYCOlive sharing an in-depth look at his journey. They discuss what it takes to launch a business and the importance of understanding your customer and being very customer focused to achieve the best results Mani is a problem solver and shares how any business needs to solve a problem if it is to succeed along with why you have to be passionate about your vision and seeing it become reality. This is a great opportunity to hear about an entrepreneurial journey to success that has taken place during a world pandemic because if you are focused on solving a problem for people and they are prepared to pay for your product or service then you have, by definition a business.   KEY TAKEAWAYS I first identified the people I needed to have in my team and the finance. You need to understand how to use your finance effectively. You need to have trust with the people in your team and train them so they know exactly what you want. When you have built something that is tangible people will want to invest. My vision was very clear and I chose my investors as people who would not try and change my vision. Working remotely with people can work if you trust each other and communicate well. My number one priority was to keep my customers happy. I'm very passionate about my business and this really makes the difference because of the amount of time you need to dedicate to a new business and getting it started. When you get comfortable in a role you no longer innovate. The definition of a business is what people are prepared to pay for your product or service. If you are focused on serving and solving problems for your customers you can be successful. There will always be others who will challenge what you are doing and you can use this to drive you forward. If it is working and making a positive impact on other's lives then you have a business.   BEST MOMENTS ‘When I started building the platform it was my strategic and corporate mindset that made it possible' ‘If you aren't solving a problem then your business will die' ‘They had to trust my leadership and believe in me'   VALUABLE RESOURCES Business, Wealth and Mindset podcast series      ABOUT THE GUEST Mani Yanika   Mani Yanika is an Innovation Leader.
