Instead of creating hours of content, start with short, one-minute videos.    Stick with what we know The best way to get comfortable with being on camera is by speaking about the things we know best. The great thing is, this doesn’t need to be related to our business, just talk about the things we enjoy and know a lot about.   Stick to one channel When starting out on video, it’s a good idea to pick one channel and post to it consistently. We need to speak about hyper-locally relevant topics, and build confidence by being ourselves. It looks like my Jigglar partners and I are heading to San Francisco again this fall for the National Association Of Realtors Annual Conference and Expo. And an interesting side note... I couldn't work out all the peace, love and flower power references around the event until I realized it's 50 years this year since Woodstock and the height of the San Francisco anti-war peace marches. (not that I was around then but I Googled it) The NAR conference is the largest real estate event in the world and if you haven't been, it's worth checking out. More info here. Facebook is unique in that it provides information you need about your market more easily, but further than that, you should think of it as an information platform and not a lead generator.   Video is crucial The most popular content on the internet is video. If you create video content of yourself, doing or speaking about something you really know about, you’ll get a following because the audience sees you as genuine. Once you’ve established that you are genuine, you can start telling people you’re an agent. It all starts with the audience liking, knowing and trusting you first.   Work with the platform The digital era is here to stay, and years of experience are irrelevant to the online audience. Learn to work within the system. That means transparency and omnipresence. For those who fail to adapt, this will be a major issue.   Digital media offers numerous opportunities to those who use the tools correctly.
