Hailing from Charlotte, NC, Raven Pfeiffer moved to Nashville in 2021 where she currently performs, co-writes, and tours with several artists across different genres, most notably with American folk sibling trio, Girl Named Tom. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Raven studied under renowned performer, composer, and producer, Rick Dior (James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles), and earned a B.A. in Music with a concentration in percussion and a B.A. in German Translation. In this conversation, we discuss the importance of committing to gigs that push you to learn new skills, like mastering Ableton, and dive into an emotional discussion about physical health as Raven opens up about her intense health scare in 2017. From battling illness to thriving on stage, her story is a testament to resilience and dedication. We also explore her musical influences, from Jen Ledger of Skillet to jazz greats like Elvin Jones and Dave Weckl, and her experience in landing endorsements, including Doc Sweeney Drums and Paiste Cymbals. Shawna saw her come in the door of the restaurant. It looked like the young woman was meeting up with a guy for a first date. And Shawna noticed that her zipper was down. Should she tell the stranger, if so how? It's a conversation about being loving and honest in our relationships. Then, we're in an spiritual war with unseen enemies. Ramona, a Perry and Shawna Mornings listener feels it in her family and sees it in the body of Christ. So, we pray! Next Shawna once believed that if she gave her life wholly to Jesus, that's she'd have a smooth life. She's learned otherwise and so has Jen Ledger, the drummer for Skillet. A conversation about God's power being perfected in our weakness. Then, there's sickness, chaos, and pain in our world, and as Jesus people, he calls us into the pain to heal it. Finally, Perry tries to convince Scott to have his first cup of coffee during the morning show instead of just after, to put a little pep in his step :) See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

You also get a deep dive into the band's dynamic as a team in regards to how they all coexist on the road together, and who is the brains, the looks, the muscle, and the wild card. Best part is you also get a deep dive into the band's music, including songs like What Else You Got? and Welcome To The Freakshow, how their faith in Christ brings them closer together and helps them create music that is inspirational and powerful at the same time, and of course how they are continuing to grow their influence during the pandemic. Looking for inspiration, Darlene and Julie interview Jen Ledger, solo artist and drummer with the multi-platinum, world-touring rock band, Skillet. Jen shares honestly about how bouts of panic and anxiety almost kept her from pursuing her dreams and how she found the strength, grit, and grace to endure these setbacks and still accomplish her dreams. Today’s guests, multi-platinum country star Hunter Hayes and drummer Jen Ledger from the Christian supergroup Skillet, have battled with dark feelings of inadequacy and anxiety. They have each found hope through these feelings by remembering how God views them. Hunter Hayes is a five-time GRAMMY nominee and one of the youngest solo male artists to top the Hot Country Songs chart. Hunter discusses how he grew into a singer/songwriter and how he works out the answers to hard questions through his songs, like his latest single “Dear God.” Hunter is candid about his insecurities; despite his monumental success at such a young age, he deals with feelings of not being good enough. Over the last ten years, Jen Ledger has been the drummer for Skillet as they’ve been nominated for GRAMMYs and played live for hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. Jen trusted God as He opened doors for her career, even when she didn’t believe in herself. Now she is releasing her first solo record that features a very personal song called “Not Dead Yet” that Jen describes as a song borne from a time when struggled with and battled internal fear and anxiety.
