Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman left his World Baseball Classic game on Tuesday with hamstring tightness. That likely ends his WBC experience, but what would it mean for Los Angeles if it keeps him out for any significant time? Also, Jon Heyman repeated a rumor that won't die about Isiah Kiner-Falefa making sense for the Dodgers, and Jeff is here to say nuh uh. The Dodgers are well into Spring Training as some players get ready for the World Baseball Classic. The Dodgers did make their first cuts to the roster including cutting Landon Knack, Jordan Yamamoto, Yusniel Diaz and a few others. We dive a bit into what those roster cuts mean and the overall shape of the clubhouse as the season starts soon. Tony Gonsolin and Justin Bruihl sustained injuries on Monday. Gonsolin hurt his ankle during a drill and Bruihl seems to be dealing with back spasms. We give our thoughts on the centerfield position as Jason Hayward and James Outman both seem to be making a case on why they should be on the Opening Day roster for LA. We dive deeper into how impressive James Outman was during our time at Spring Training. We then give a small prediction on who we think will be the Opening Day Centerfielder for the Dodgers. We close with "Stock Up, Stock Down", a little game we played to give our thoughts on four players' stocks that are rising and four players' stocks that we think have lowered since the beginning of Spring Training Learn more about your ad choices. In case you missed it, Pleasant Good Evening is now an independent podcast, but don't worry because the content train still rolls on. In the wake of the Jared Porter scandal and the recent news of Mickey Callaway also being a serial creep, we wanted to provide a spotlight to a couple of our favorite women in baseball content creation. So, joining us on podcast this week is Allison McCage (@PetitePhD), one of the hosts of Amazin' Avenue's exceptional women-led podcast, A Pod Of Their Own (@APodOfTheirOwn). Allison helps us break down the recent slew of Mets depth acquisitions - Jordan Yamamoto, Aaron Loup, Albert Almora, and the three arms the Mets got in exchange for Steven Matz - and gives her thoughts on why the Mets' offseason feels disappointing. We are then joined by Allie Kaylor (@cincinnallie), assistant sports editor of the Daily Orange, Syracuse University's student newspaper, and resident online Reds fan. She tells us about her experience having to watch Trevor Bauer as a fan and helps break down why the Mets dodged a bullet when Bauer spurned the Mets for the Dodgers. Make sure the leave a rating and a review for the podcast and follow us and our guests on Twitter! Also: A Pod Of Their Own is running a fundraiser to support victims of domestic violence. Maybe it's just the Hawaiian way, but nothing really rattles Jordan Yamamoto. Need proof? How about starting his major league career last season by setting a Miami Marlins franchise record of 14 scoreless innings over two starts. Oh, and a rotation best WHIP of 1.144 and 82 strikeouts in under 79 innings to finish the season. Now, that's Aloha. The Marlins pitcher talks to Jensen about how he maintains a positive mindset during slumps, his growing relationship with Marlins CEO Derek Jeter and why in the end, Christian Yelich won't be the only name you remember from that trade. They also talk about Jordan's skills with a shaver, a Rubik's Cube and just about anything else you throw his way. Then, Jensen chats with Barstool Sports' funnyman and battle rap champion, Adam “Rone” Ferrone about making sports content in a pandemic and breaking down the drama over at “Call Me Daddy”. ETS is back to react to Sunday's All-Star Futures Game in Cleveland (1:50). The Marlins earned three selections: right-hander Sixto Sánchez, second baseman Isan Díaz and outfielder Monte Harrison (sidelined with wrist injury). Ethan makes the compelling case that Díaz is ready for a big league call-up now (11:30). The 2019-20 international signing period opened last Tuesday (21:15) with the Fish scooping up 11 amateur players from a handful of countries. More recent standouts in this farm system include outfielder Milton Smith II, left-hander Trevor Rogers and unhittable rookie Jordan Yamamoto (34:45).  Ian selects Chris Vallimont (45:40) and Eddy Alvarez (46:30) for his pitcher and hitter of the week awards. Shortstop Nasim Nuñez and outfielder Víctor Mesa Jr. are quickly developing great chemistry with one another in the Gulf Coast League (49:00), while speedy Wright State product J.D. Orr could be the biggest steal of the Marlins draft class (54:00). Follow Fish Stripes (@fishstripes), Danny (@DannyM_MIA), Ethan (@GatorBait_Ethan) and Ian (@FlaSmitty) on Twitter. Danny explains why it's so important to see the Marlins take an active approach to international free agency with the opening of the 2019-20 signing period last week (4:20), and how the major league team transformed from the first quarter of the season to the second quarter (10:00). He urges fans to be patient with the anemic offense (14:50), while highlighting Jordan Yamamoto as the Marlins pitching performance of the week (17:15). This episode's special guest is Dr. Ronald W. Cox, a professor teaching political science at Florida International University (24:15). A longtime member of the Fish Stripes audience, he reflects on everything from the beginning of the Marlins franchise to the direction that they're heading in under new ownership. Danny shouts out rookie starters Sandy Alcantara, Jordan Yamamoto and Zac Gallen (4:15) for their performances during the 5-2 Marlins road trip. The MLB news of the week was a zany, two-city proposal that would have the Rays playing home games in both Tampa Bay and Montreal. Danny makes it clear that the Marlins are not candidates for any sort of partial/full relocation for the foreseeable future (19:00).  Our special guest this week is Danny's long-lost "brother from another mother" Kevin Smith (30:30).
