Fantasy Six Pack: The Fantasy Six Pack Hour
Week 11 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire & Rankings: Jarren Duran Riser + Jackson Chourio Buy Low

Fantasy Six Pack: The Fantasy Six Pack Hour

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 5, 2026 83:07

Looking for the absolute best fantasy baseball waiver wire advice, the latest fantasy baseball trade targets, and updated fantasy baseball rankings? We break down why Jarren Duran is highlighting our latest rankings risers, analyze the underlying metrics making Jackson Chourio an elite buy-low trade target, and pinpoint exactly who you need to target before your league mates catch on. Week 11 Market Analytics & Player Teardowns The fantasy baseball landscape is shifting rapidly as we head into Week 11, requiring managers to separate real skill growth from temporary statistical anomalies. A prime example is Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, who highlights our latest rankings risers due to underlying pace metrics that suggest a potential 30-30 campaign. Despite an elevated 29% strikeout rate, Duran has locked down the everyday leadoff spot, making his volume-heavy profile incredibly valuable. When evaluating risers like Duran or Bryan Reynolds, analyzing baseline shifts rather than riding unsustainable BABIP waves is essential to sustaining success. The trade market presents distinct buy-low windows that demand immediate action. Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio remains an elite buy-low target; his underlying barrel rates and hard-hit metrics have been teasing a massive breakout, and his recent multi-homer explosion during the series sweep shows that the acquisition window is closing incredibly fast. Similarly, Oakland's Tyler Soderstrom is showing immense growth, dropping his strikeout rate from a concerning 30% down to a highly manageable 18%. Combined with a rising launch angle at a highly favorable Sutter Health Park hitting environment, his bat is primed for a massive second-half surge. On the flip side, identifying optimal sell-high timelines is just as crucial for long-term roster construction. Christian Yelich continues to provide solid surface counting stats, but his underlying metrics paint an incredibly alarming picture. Yelich's launch angle sits at a low two degrees, paired with a meager 6% barrel rate and a career-worst average exit velocity of 88 mph. With his strikeout rate jumping nearly 30% alongside chronic back discomfort, savvy managers should trade the veteran asset now to maximize return value before rest-of-season regression fully hits. Conversely, pitching depth remains highly volatile, as highlighted by the dramatic roster shifts across standard leagues. For those looking to fill open roster spots, looking toward efficient arms like Detroit's Troy Melton or checking the underlying predictive metrics of high-upside young arms like Chase Burns provides a strategic roadmap for stabilizing team ERAs and WHIPs without burning waiver priority on low-floor assets. Happy Friday, daylight burners! Matt and Eric ride solo today (Jake's back Sunday) to recap a rough Thursday on the homer front and set up a loaded Rivalry Weekend. The A's drop a 5-4 heartbreaker to the Cardinals — Kurtz extends his on-base streak to 37 games with a leadoff bomb (two shy of Giambi's '98 A's record), but the bullpen coughs up the lead. The Rockies get rolled 7-2 in Pittsburgh as Ryan O'Hearn goes 3-for-4 with a two-run shot and Chase Dollander exits early with right forearm soreness. The Tigers get swept by the Mets 9-4, A.J. Ewing's first big league homer caps the Mets' five-homer barrage, and Hinch gets tossed (on a hot mic) over a blown replay at third. Around the league: Chase Burns deals 6 IP, 2 H for the Reds in a 15-1 dismantling of the Nationals (JJ Bleday — back-to-back jacks, 6 RBI), Zebby Matthews tosses 7 shutout in his spot start for the Twins, Schwarber breaks up a pitchers' duel with an 8th-inning bomb at Fenway, Brewers handle the Padres 7-1, Mariners take down Houston 8-3 (Cal Raleigh to the IL with a right oblique), Cubs avoid the sweep 2-1 in Atlanta behind Ben Brown's 4 IP, 1 H, 7 K, White Sox keep rolling over the Royals, and the Dodgers retake the NL West lead with a 5-2 win over the Giants. Full injury rundown: Cal Raleigh, Dollander, Garrett Crochet (20 pitches off the mound!), Max Fried imaging, Cole Ragans to the IL with pitcher's elbow, Kerry Carpenter, Verlander sim game, Buxton hip flexor, Murphy IL/Sean Murphy out, Hyeseong Kim back, Lindor still not close, Francisco Alvarez 6-8 weeks (meniscus), Yelich back, Nootbaar nearing rehab, Boyd out 6 weeks, Paddock signed by Reds, Mookie Betts back, and more. Weekend preview: Forget the Subway Series — the marquee matchup is the Crosstown Classic on the South Side (Cabrera vs. Burke). Plus Phillies-Pirates (Nola vs. Ashcraft), Blue Jays-Tigers (Yesavage debut watch), Reds-Guardians, Rangers-Astros, Royals-Cardinals, D-backs-Rockies (hammer the over), Padres-Mariners, and Giants at the A's in West Sac. The Reds took an early 2-0 lead in the first with home runs from Spencer Steer and Noelvi Marte off Brewers starter Quinn Priester. Milwaukee responded, tying the game in the fourth on Christian Yelich's single and Sal Frelick's sacrifice fly. The Reds surged ahead 4-2 in the sixth with Ke'Bryan Hayes' solo homer and an error-aided run. The Brewers rallied in the ninth, tying it at 4-4 with William Contreras' single and Brice Turang's sacrifice fly. In the 10th, Jackson Chourio's solo homer off Joe La Sorsa gave Milwaukee a 5-4 lead. Trevor Megill secured his 30th save, despite a Reds threat. Yelich went 2-for-4, continuing his hot streak. Reds starter Zack Littell pitched six innings, allowing two runs, but defensive errors by Gavin Lux and T.J. Friedl proved costly. The Reds, now 64-60, fell further in the NL Wild Card race, while the Brewers improved to 78-44, solidifying their NL Central lead.

On June 2, 2025, the Milwaukee Brewers edged out the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 in Game 1 of their series at Great American Ball Park, extending their winning streak to eight games, the longest since August 2023. The Brewers' victory was powered by Christian Yelich's heroics and a resilient pitching effort, while the Reds struggled to capitalize on early momentum. Yelich, fresh off being named National League Player of the Week, delivered the decisive blow with a 417-foot solo home run in the third inning off Reds starter Brady Singer (6-4, 4.60 ERA). The full-count slider, crushed to straightaway center, gave Milwaukee a 3-2 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Yelich's hot streak continued, as he's now batting .450 over a nine-game hitting streak, with six homers and 14 RBIs. Sal Frelick also contributed, going 2-for-4, bolstering the Brewers' offense. The Reds struck first, scoring two runs in the opening inning against Brewers starter Aaron Civale (1-1, 6.00 ERA). However, Civale settled down, pitching 5 1/3 innings, allowing just those two runs while striking out five. His recovery was critical, especially after missing nearly two months with a strained left hamstring. The Brewers' bullpen, a strength all season, sealed the deal. Rob Zastryzny, acquired from the Yankees in May, was pivotal in the sixth, striking out Jose Trevino and inducing a groundout from Santiago Espinal with runners on base. Trevor Megill closed the game with a perfect ninth, earning his 12th save in 13 chances. For Cincinnati, the loss highlighted ongoing offensive struggles. Despite the early lead, the Reds managed only a few hits after the first, with Singer's six innings undermined by Yelich's homer. The Reds' inability to convert opportunities, like the sixth-inning threat, underscored their 29-31 record and inconsistent play at home (14-14). The game, played before a lively Cincinnati crowd with temperatures at 76°F, showcased Milwaukee's depth and resilience. With Freddy Peralta (5-3, 2.77 ERA) set to face Hunter Greene (4-3, 2.63 ERA) in Game 2, the Brewers aim to keep their streak alive. Meanwhile, the Reds, desperate to snap out of their funk, face an uphill battle in this series.

Love these short weeks! Took an extra day off yesterday to go to Milwaukee on Memorial Day for the Brewers/Red Sox game and now I've got three short days of work before the weekend pops back up. Hope you made the most of your holiday weekend. In the news this morning, the Winona County Sheriff's office is looking for information on a few shootings in the Rollingstone area this weekend, Southwest Airlines is now going to be charging for checked baggage, President Trump is pardoning the Chrisleys, a judge in Wisconsin is getting suspended without pay for misconduct, and an update on the escaped inmates in Louisiana. In sports, the Brewers got a walk-off grand slam from Yelich last night, the Pacers beat the Knicks to push them to the brink in the NBA's Eastern Conference finals, and in hockey, the Oilers are one win away from the Stanley Cup finals after beating Dallas again last night. Elsewhere in sports, Terry Bradshaw didn't have anything positive to say about Aaron Rodgers potentially signing with the Steelers, Caitlin Clark is going to miss some time with an injury, Mary Lou Retton got busted for DUI, EA Sports unveiled the cover of it's upcoming College Football game, and the latest on Liverpool parade crash. We let you know what's on TV tonight, and Brian recapped his trip to Milwaukee. A guy is attempting to sail around the world with his cat, it's "National Hamburger Day", so we talked about some of the deals you can take advantage of, and a list of the most dangerous foods in your fridge at this very moment! ICYMI, legendary musician Rick Derringer passed away yesterday at the age of 77. How many days in a month do you truly feel "healthy"? The average answer may surprise you. Plus, the newest "hot-ticket" collector card, a list of rock stars who almost died on-stage, and during today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who got arrested for drawing a crosswalk on a busy street, a #FloridaMan that was high on meth…got attacked by a gator…and shot to death by the cops, a #FloridaWoman who stabbed a 12 year-old girl and left her for dead, a guy who had a serious case of road rage, and a naked woman who threw bottles of booze at people in a hotel.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Much better than last season!3.There was no love for Eduardo Rodriguez entering this season and while he gave up four runs in five innings to the Nationals, he also struck out 12.a.Thoughts on E-Rod for the season?4.Matthew Boyd had a great outing on Saturday. 6.0 IP, 5 hits, 0 ER, 5K/1BB5.The Brewers have struggled to score runs this season. Yelich is batting .107, Contreras .0978, and Hoskins .136. Somehow, they are 4-5 entering Sunday's game.6.The Braves finally won on Friday, but after Saturday's loss, they are 1-8. They overachieved with Acuna last season. Are they underachieving so far in 2025?7.Tanner Bibee got rocked by the Angels of all teams.8.Jesse Winker went 2 for 4 with two triples. Kind of a weird stat line. Winker, in my view, is sneaky good as a fifth outfielder, but I don't think the Mets agree as he's clearly in a platoon role at DH with Starling Marte.Segment 3 – Waiver WireSegment 4 – Closer ReportClose
