In this repost episode of the Awake & Winning Podcast, Kaylor Betts sits down with investor and educator Jason Graystone (host of Always Free Podcast) to rip apart the myths of "financial freedom." They draw a hard line between owning a business and buying yourself a job, unpack the two stages of freedom (independence → autonomy), and get practical about building assets, systems, and delegation so income isn't tied to your hours. Kaylor challenges listeners to create purpose through service instead of endlessly "finding" it, while Jason lays out money habits that turn surplus cash into investments you can sleep on. They also tackle imposter syndrome (why it's a growth signal), fair exchange, and optimizing for fulfillment over vanity metrics. If you're ready to reclaim your time, scale with leverage, and build wealth that supports your mission, this replay is your blueprint. Episode Highlights: financial freedom, money mindset, entrepreneurship, passive income, delegation, investing, Bitcoin, purpose, imposter syndrome, fulfillment, service, freedom, mindset shifts Takeaways: Financial freedom has two stages: independence and autonomy Buying yourself a job isn't entrepreneurship Master delegation and automation to scale your time Passive income means one hour of work per year for returns Build assets and systems before chasing new ideas Serve others first — fulfillment fuels financial growth Stop pedestalizing money and define enough for you If this episode lit a fire under you, don't keep it to yourself. This week, Jason is joined by Love Island USA standout and rising lifestyle creator, Kaylor Martin! Kaylor became a fan favorite during season six of Love Island where her humor, authenticity, and confidence caught national attention. Since leaving the villa, she turned that spotlight into a career, growing her platform, collaborating with some of the biggest brands in the country, and building a personal brand that is going well beyond TV. Kaylor dives into the many different ways she was making an income before Love Island — from juggling six college classes and three jobs to tutoring on the side. She shares how she graduated college and flew to Fiji just a week later, what the application process for Love Island was really like, and why she decided to be bold and a little vulgar in her questionnaire. Kaylor opens up about her expectations going into the show versus what actually happened, her relationship with money, and why she still holds onto the broke college student mentality. She talks about spending the last of her money on Shein outfits for the show, how she hopes to use her platform moving forward, and whether she'd consider going back to school. Kaylor also breaks down the value she sees in education, how she defines her brand, and why she's sticking with content creation. She takes listeners behind the scenes of Love Island — including how she got some secret intel — reveals how much her first brand deal paid, and shares why she loves staying constantly busy. Plus, Kaylor opens up about filming Beyond the Villa during a dark time in her life, the other reality shows she'd consider joining, why she likes LTK and Amazon Storefront, and what her plans are for the future. Kaylor reveals all this and so much more in another episode you can't afford to miss! In this repost of one of Kaylor's most talked-about conversations, he and Adam Allred tackle the modern masculinity debate head-on. They define masculine vs. feminine energy, unpack the "toxic masculinity" label, and call out how comfort, cultural conditioning, and absent initiation rites are weakening men. Adam, known for unapologetic takes on leadership, polarity, and purpose, lays out why strong, healthy masculine men are essential for families and society, and how men can reclaim power through responsibility, adversity, and self-respect. If you've felt the cultural confusion around gender roles and leadership, this replay delivers clarity, conviction, and a practical path forward. Episode Highlights: masculinity, feminism, toxic masculinity, leadership, strong men, weak men, the attack on masculinity, traditional values, modern feminism, men's mental health, adversity, self-respect Takeaways: Masculinity is imposing will for good Feminine energy is sacred and protected Harmony beats balance for men "Toxic" = masculinity used selfishly Comfort erodes purpose and grit Do hard things to reclaim agency Strong men stabilize families and society _____________________________ If this episode lit a fire under you, don't keep it to yourself. Christian Nationalism is not patriotism. It may actually be considered idolatry. Where is the line? And how do we ensure we aren't pushing Jesus from the center of the throne? Rev. Brian Kaylor, a Baptist pastor, journalist and author, will be the special guest at Orders & Fellowship in October. He will share the history of this phenomenon and will help pastors understand better how they can lead their congregations so that they still can show love for their country without falling into the pitfalls that have happened for others in the past. In this conversation, Pastor Josh and Will sit down with Brian Kaylor—editor in chief of Word&Way, Baptist minister, and author of The Bible According to Christian Nationalists—to unpack seven common ways scripture gets twisted to serve power. We talk about why Christian nationalism functions as a theological heresy, not just a political ideology, and how to separate healthy patriotism from a fusion of church and state that distorts the gospel.Brian walks us through how numerology frames like “Ephesians 6:11 at 6:11” go viral after violent events and why chapter and verse numbers were never meant to carry hidden messages. We dig into the difference between loving your neighbors and trying to rule them, the history behind public Ten Commandments displays and classroom mandates, and how commodifying the Bible turns faith into a brand. We also get practical about reading in community, broadening the voices that shape our interpretations, and cultivating the humility to say I might be wrong. If you care about faith, civic life, and the integrity of scripture, this episode offers language and tools to navigate a polarized moment without surrendering your soul.Book: https://bookshop.org/a/112456/9780827203501Guest BioBrian Kaylor is the editor in chief of Word&Way, a Baptist minister, and a scholar of political communication whose work sits at the intersection of faith, civic life, and media. This week we're doing something a little different on the Awake & Winning Podcast. Instead of Kaylor in the host chair, we're sharing an interview where he was the guest. Our friend Barb Moylan, the powerhouse behind Bam Fit 4 Life, brought Kaylor on her Facebook Live show for a raw conversation about ADHD, depression, and what it really takes to take back control of your life. Kaylor gets vulnerable about the years he felt like he was stuck “in the trunk” of his own life, the rock-bottom moment that cracked everything open, and how he flipped the script on ADHD, seeing it as a superpower instead of a disability. He also breaks down the simple but powerful fundamentals that changed everything: testing for root causes, dialing in sleep and nutrition, training hard, and keeping promises to himself. Barb's mission to help women reclaim strength and sovereignty is the perfect match for this convo, and you'll walk away inspired to rethink health, purpose, and freedom on your own terms. Episode Highlights: ADHD reframe, root-cause testing, circadian rhythm, clean nutrition, strength training, anxiety tools, promises to self, entrepreneurship, mission first, men's mental health, pharmaceutical trade-offs, sovereignty Takeaways: You are not a victim Reframe ADHD as a superpower and align your work Test for root causes before you treat Regulate sleep and light exposure daily Balance blood sugar and lower inflammation Keep promises to yourself to crush anxiety Build a mission that's bigger than you If this episode lit a fire under you, don't keep it to yourself. Fitness, training, discipline and communication are core to good policing, but sleep underpins them all. Quality sleep sharpens judgment, reaction time and restraint while buffering stress and trauma. For officers working long shifts, odd hours and high-stress scenes, better sleep is a practical readiness tool — not a luxury. In this episode of the Policing Matters podcast, host Jim Dudley speaks with Dr. Leah Kaylor, an FBI clinical psychologist who provides trauma therapy and critical-incident debriefings. Kaylor's new book, “If Sleep Were a Drug: Why Sleep Is the Ultimate Advantage — No Prescription Required,” breaks down common sleep myths, explains how REM restores emotional balance and offers field-tested strategies officers can use tonight. The episode also tackles shift work realities, caffeine and alcohol traps, and when to seek help for sleep apnea.
