Send us Fan MailThe Minnesota Twins have climbed to the top of not just the divisional standings but that of the entire American League after taking two of three in Toronto against the Blue Jays. David and Dan are trying to enjoy the sound performances from Joe Ryan, Taj Bradley and most of the lineup, though a few spots there -- and the whole of the bullpen -- are suspect. David praises manager Derek Shelton for how he has handled the bullpen, while Dan is wondering about the choice to keep trotting James Outman into the outfield. The boys also look around the league, specifically at the statue unveiling outside T-Mobile Park in Seattle. In our weekly recap of Twins baseball, Nick and Lou discuss a very fun stretch that saw the team go 6-1 with contributions coming from all corners. Among the topics reviewed: Brooks Lee's breakout, Taj Bradley's continued growth, and Tristan Gray's opportunity to make a statement. Also: what to do with James Outman?
Gleeman and The Geek - An Unauthorized Minnesota Twins Podcast
Aaron and John talk about the national expectations for the Twins, Luke Keaschall being cleared to play the outfield again, Alan Roden vs. James Outman, how much is riding on Brooks Lee, and trying to make sense of the elderly bullpen group.
Send us a textThe Minnesota Twins helped to make Monday night wonderful for Minnesota sports fans, but after that they lost badly and then lost frustratingly to the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim to drop another series. David is pleased with the performance in Game 1 and wonders what was inside Rocco Baldelli's mind in Game 2. Dan asks what the Twins are supposed to do next year with Eddie Julien, and both of the guys have a lot to say about Ryan Fitzgerald and James Outman. Dodgers keep it rolling with their 4th in a row and 12th W of their last 14 in Walker Buhler's return. He was rusty to sure, giving up a home run in the 1st, but looked good and times going 4 striking out 4. Shohei Ohtani answered right back in the bottom of the first with his league leading 11th HR to tie the game. Freddie Freeman made it a back to back with his 3rd homer and James Outman secured the win with his 3rd. Teoscar Hernandez also went deep for his 9th. Ryan Yarbrough got the win throwing 3 scoreless on just 26 pitches.

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Tyler Glasnow put it all together for his best performance in an LA uniform, striking out 14 Twins in seven scoreless innings as the Dodgers beat Minnesota, 6-3. James Outman and Will Smith each hit three-run homers for LA, as Outman continues to break out of his slump and Smith continues his dominant season at (and behind) the plate. Shohei Ohtani's multi-hit streak was broken, but he did extend his league lead in extra-base hits with a 114-MPH double, the second-hardest hit for a Dodger this year. Shohei Ohtani is now the team leader and MLB leader in extra-base hits after picking up two doubles and a homer in a win over the Twins on Monday. Ohtani credited some of the success with his swing to swinging a cricket bat with a baseball bat handle in order to work on his bat path. James Outman also used it after Ohtani and had a big home run. Meanwhile, the Dodgers offense has been striking out a fair amount but it's not always entirely their fault. Lastly, Daniel Hudson has been a bullpen stalwart for the Dodgers and it's been fun to see his journey to this point.Be sure to subscribe to Locked On Dodgers wherever you get your podcasts and on YouTube, and come back every weekday morning and spend your morning commute with two of the biggest Dodger fans you'll ever meet.
