The critical stretch on the road to the USL Championship playoffs is starting now. First up for Diego Gomez's Phoenix Rising side is a clash against Alen Marcina's San Antonio FC. The last time these two sides met, Fede Varela's goal proved only a consolation for Phoenix as Juan Agudelo's brace sealed a 2-1 win. Phoenix Rising came into tonight's match with an opportunity to bounce pack. Facing a San Antonio side that have lost five straight, Rising was looking to make a statement under interim manager's Diego Lopez's first match in charge. It did not go accordingly to plan. After a weather delay halted the original start of the match, Phoenix continued the theme of coming out slowly. A first half goal by Juan Agudelo was the only spark from either side in a very dull first half. Fede Varela did well to head home the equalizer in the second half. Yet a penalty netted Agudelo's brace and left San Antonio curbing their slide and leaving Rising waiting to do the same for theirs. Patreon Hello! In this episode, I talk about Legion's exciting 2-1 win over Orange County SC. In this match, we see Juan Agudelo do exactly what we thought he would and Trevor Spangenberg saving 3 points once again. The question is, who is our best players? Who is in the Starting XI? And are the people who are best, are they what is the best for the club? Tactical Breakdown on Hammeringdown.com Hello! Welcome to one of the more unhinged podcasts I've recorded in a while. It started with a ramble, it ended in a ramble, and we're here with 46:11 worth of content. Neco Brett returns to the 3 Sparks, and hours later, so does Juan Agudelo. Is there a way to fit them all on the field? Absolutely, but it will take a lot of work to do so. I am serious about the Cala Coffee. Please sponsor me. A disappointing loss in Portland for the Loons, but Jess got to experience her first-ever away day and she... has thoughts! Frank Pain decides to go full villain, there are some 2022 match announcements, and we wish a happy birthday to Juan Agudelo. Also, women's soccer is making news, we briefly discuss Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium, MNWOSO, and the NWSL final.
We're back, another week and 3 more points for MNUFC! We discuss the Portland match, which we definitely deserved to win, Referee Marcos de Oliveira who definitely should have red-carded himself, and Juan Agudelo is... good? We also talk about the brilliant MPLS City season(s), preview a big (hopefully 6 point) week for the Loons, and discuss the US teams who qualified for international tournaments (Spoiler Alert: Only the women did it the right way).
The guys get together to discuss lots of MNUFC news [8:30], including some quotes Adrian Heath gave to Jerry Zgoda, the Juan Agudelo signing, the shitty Ike Opara news, and briefly discuss the preseason schedule. After the break, it's MLS news time [42:22]. They discuss the US Open Cup plan and schedules (Tinfoil Dan pops up to make an appearance), the Wilfs wanting to purchase Orlando City SC and the plan for Canadian teams in mostly Florida. Finally, MJ surprises Zeller with a Very Special Better Know A Loon [1:03:00] and we wrap up with some MPLS City news [1:07:02]. Inter Miami have declined 8 contract options and 4 more players are out of contract. Players of note are captain Luis Robles, Juan Agudelo, Brek Shea and Wil Trapp. Will Inter Miami renegotiate some of these contracts and welcome the players back at lower pay or are they saying goodbye? Fort Lauderdale CF also made some decisions with 7 contact options declined and 4 players out of contract. The biggest surprise is striker Ricky Lopez-Espin who is out of contract. Will they renew the contract and/or give him a shot at the first team. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/futbolmiamitv/support
Gonzalo Higuain is officially an inter Miami player. Franco Panizo and Eric Krakauer discuss the star striker's arrival, when he might debut, and what are expectations for him. The hosts also discuss the team's recent performances as well as those of Brek Shea and Juan Agudelo.
Inter Miami has been rolling! With the help of veterans Juan Agudelo and the rejuvenated Brek Shea, Inter Miami handed Atlanta United their second loss to the Herons in just ten days. With just one loss to our name in the last five games, we’ve also kept two clean sheets while only giving up four goals in our last six matches. Big shout out Luis Robles and the entire back line - Those boys looks scary. With the recent addition of Gonzalo Higuaín... Don’t look now but it’s happeninggggg. Greetings, soccer fans! Welcome back to The Sons of a Pitch: An American Soccer Podcast. In tonight's episode, Nick and Mike give their opinions on what is a good contract or a bad contract. For Mike, good contracts are all about player production, while Nick looks at the value of the contract and how teams can move players for transfer fees. Thanks to new listener David Ruffin for the email and the conversation starter! Next, the hosts recap the Major League Soccer Re-Entry Draft, and break down the picks from Stage 1 and 2 of the event. Most notably, Toronto FC pick up Juan Agudelo and FC Cincinnati sign Saad Abdul-Salaam. Both signings are at worst depth signings, and at best can be immediate impact players. Agudelo can provide a goal-scoring presence in place of injury-plagued Jozy Altidore, and Abdul-Salaam can help shore up a league worst defense. Finally, the Sons of a Pitch highlight Real Salt Lake signings on the pitch and on the staff, and they discuss Chicago Fire's link to Chivas striker Alan Pulido. Plenty to talk about this week as Major League Soccer announced the 2020 conference alignment on Tuesday, the KC Comets are in action, and the potential for Peter Vermes to spend money at a new level. David Beckham's Miami will enter the Eastern Conference and Nashville will play in the Western Conference which makes the two even at 13 teams a piece. However, this means the schedule is now unbalanced and each team will no longer play every other team in the league over the course of a season. What might this mean for the Supporters' Shield? How long will it remain like this? And where will Sporting Kansas City end up when they finally reach 30 teams? The re-entry draft also continued this week with Juan Agudelo & Saad Abdul-Salaam being selected. Our thoughts & prayers go out to SAS in his new venture with Cincinnati FC. We also spend some time in the Kansas City Comets and Thad will let you know what they have been up to. Vermes recently had a press conference in which he spoke a lot about new capital and SKC jumping up a level or two with their spending. It has been met with a lot of cynicism from Sporting KC faithful who think they've heard this before. But this rhetoric is is absolutely different than we have seen in years past. Thatwillingness has been on display already as the team has been linked with Alan Pulido & Lucas Cavallini, two Liga MX strikers, who both have a transfer fee much higher than anything SKC has touched before. But can they actually land one of these players? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Six States One Podcast - A Show About The New England Revolution
The Revs squandered two goal leads — twice — on the road at Kansas City Saturday and managed a draw in a game in which they finished with only nine players. Juan Fernando Caicedo earned a brace with two first half goals — his first in MLS — and Juan Agudelo found the back of the net for the first time since last August in the 42’. Rookie DeJuan Jones opened his professional account in the 69th minute, but the Revs still surrounded four goals of their own, two of which came off former New England attacker Krisztián Németh. With Alex Almeida away on assignment, Eric Spence joins Ray and Jon this week, along with Jonathan Sigal, from MLSsoccer.com and the New England Sports Journal. Then Mike Servidio, Co-Host of the KYW Radio’s Philly Soccer Show, is here to preview the Revs’ visit to the land of Chester. Andrew is back, and the guys waste no time putting him in his place. First, though, David and Matt help break down Toronto FC's dramatic Canadian Championship triumph against archrivals Montreal, those Wesley Sneijder-to-LAFC rumors, a changing Cali Clasico and early winners and losers from the Dax McCarty trade. There's a packed weekend of MLS action in store, but the US national team managed to jam a friendly in as well. What's Bruce Arena looking for against Ghana? What partnerships are being tested? Is Matt Hedges the key to the backline? Will it be Dom Dwyer or Juan Agudelo up top? In the second segment, it's all Lamar Hunt US Open Cup following a typically wild night of action. Poku (!!!) got the game-winner vs. Atlanta, but it was Mitch Hildebrandt who became a folk hero after saving three penalties to help FC Cincinnati knock off the Chicago Fire from the spot. He joins the guys to explain his strategy, tell stories from his not-so-wild night, explain what makes Cincinnati such a strong soccer market and look ahead to the next round (and perhaps even more glory). The mailbag starts with some news: Jesse Gonzalez's one-time switch to the US is done and dusted. So what's that mean for the national team and the FC Dallas goalkeeper? Plus, San Jose's new direction, a hot (but incorrect) take in Toronto and an "I told you so" from a long-time listener in Chicago. Want to be a part of the show? Call the Hot-Take Hotline at 401-206-0MLS to leave a voicemail (keep it short and sweet and avoid colorful language) that could appear on ExtraTime Radio!
Ives Galarcep and Seth Vertelney discuss the Eastern Conference's strong start to the season, plus Revs forward Juan Agudelo's double in a wild 3-3 draw with Seattle and a meeting of two of the West's best teams in FC Dallas' draw with the Portland Timbers .
Despite the poor performances around all of the DMV's soccer teams, the Filibuster podcast is ready to go the full 90. Adam, Jason, and Ben have to talk about D.C. United's 2-0 defeat at the hands of the New York Red Bulls. We discuss the injury to Steve Birnbaum, the goals by Bradley Wright-Phillips and Alex Muyl, and then go from back to front dissecting the poor play: the defense, midfield, and attack all get a turn. We then welcome on Jake Catanese of The Bent Musket to talk about United's weekend game against the New England Revolution. We talk about their schedule so far, their hot and cold play, and the switch of positions of Lee Nguyen and Juan Agudelo. We also discuss the shape that Jay Heaps is in, Scott Caldwell and their midfield, their defense, Diego Fagundez, all before ending with asking Jake how he would gameplan against the Revs. Give it a listen!

The final episode of 2016 is on deck as the gang will return to the studio next week to kick off 2016. First Andrew and David discuss new years resolutions. And then they talk to the pros. Juan Agudelo talks about being a young upcoming American attacking player. The pressure that comes from the media, the decision he has made, and his future with the national team. He also sings the theme to his favorite Disney Channel show and projects the future of the USWNT midfield. Last but not least the Andre Blake stops by after robbing some more of Juan's goals. Andre discusses how he ended up between the posts, his path out of Jamaica, his favorite "Andre Blake Says No" save, and his barber Keegan Rosenberry.
The guys are away but no fear there is plenty of MLS content to consume. Andrew and David hold court at MLS Cup with a few stars of the league to talk big picutre, their 2016 experiences, music choice, what its like to celebrate winning a title and so much more. First Andrew sit down with Philadelphia Union duo CJ Sapong and Keegan Rosenberry. They talk all about working under Jim Curtin, the culture Earnie Stewart is building, working through your rookie season and more. In the next segment Andrew and David are joined by Sacha Kljestan he discusses his love of Queen, battle for playing time as an American in Europe, changes in the USMNT, and all things Red Bulls. Look out for the second holiday special with Juan Agudelo and Andre Blake on December 29th and Sirius XM FC Ch 85.
It is a USA gameday, and it is a Filibuster listen day! Jason, Adam, and Ben are back to talk about a couple of D.C. United games and the USMNT. We start with the two most recent games, the US Open Cup loss to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on penalty kicks and the 0-0 draw to the Houston Dynamo in MLS regular season play. We talk about our feelings about these two results, as well as the lack of creativity shown across the field and what they can do better. We talk about D.C. United's formation, the debut of Jalen Robinson in MLS, and, of course, we have to talk about Chris Durkin. We then talk about tonight's USMNT matchup against Argentina, including the changes Jurgen Klinsmann is going to have to make to both his players and maybe to his formation. We take this opportunity to crack open the Twitterbox as well to talk about potential throwback jerseys for D.C. United. After the break we bring on Kyle McCarthy of the Boston Hearld to preview D.C. United's upcoming game against the New England Revolution. We talk about the Revs' up and down season so far, their midfield, and how Kei Kamara has fit in with their striker corps. We talk about the play of Andrew Farrell and Lee Nguyen, whether or not Juan Agudelo will still be with the Revs at season's end, and our old friend Charlie Davies before asking Kyle to gameplan the Revs for us. Give it a listen!
The one thing Andrew, Simon, and David can predict about MLS is …. that it’s impossible to predict! The guys do their best to wrap their minds around an unpredictable weekend in which Orlando blew out the defending champion Galaxy, NYCFC rallied from two-goals down with 10 men, the Union ground out a win vs. noted grinders D.C. United, and Chad Barrett (not Oba or Deuce) is the star striker in Seattle. New England’s Juan Agudelo chats with Andrew about the birth of “Swagudelo,” fatherhood, his national team future and the Revs’ development. In the second segment, LAFC’s major stadium announcement takes center stage. With a new soccer-specific stadium (or is it just soccer stadium?) coming into the league in 2018, the guys dive into the details. Plus, what happens when you celebrate a championship you haven’t actually won? In the mailbag, the final ruling comes down on “Farby” or “Furbie.” Plus, Simon’s disdain for D.C. United, and a discussion on Brek Shea’s soccer development over the years.
This week Evan and Abram discuss American soccer. This week's 11: Benny Feilhaber, Juan Agudelo vs. Jordan Morris, MLS's boring-ass parity, Toronto Football Clubs curse, Detroit City FC to NASL, pretty much every soccer team in Florida, Montreal and the CCL, Tulsa's tifo, Kolo Toure, San Francisco City FC, and MLS 2s in the USL.Twitter: @FirstElevenPodFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/FirstElevenPodListen Here

Hi everyone and welcome to Season 1 Episode 2 of the New York City Football Club Fan Podcast. I'm your host, Andres Emilio Soto and I am super excited that you are listening. If you want to send an email write to info@nycpodcast.com or leave a voicemail by clicking the blue button on the ride side of our website NYCFCPodcast.com. Any reviews, comments or predictions about New York City Football Club will be played on the podcast. Recap Corner Wow. What a way to start the season. First a tie playing away against Orlando City SC and today a win at home against the New England Revolution. This is truly NYCFC History in the making as a little over 43,000 were in attendance on a very cold and windy Sunday at Yankee Stadium. NYCFC started the game much faster, compared to their first match, when with just four minutes on the clock Andrew Jacobson fed David Villa who then passed to a wide open Adam Nemec. Nemec did not strike the ball with enough force and was blocked by New England Revolution goalie Bobby Shuttleworth. Though with that momentum and the great fans cheering and chanting for NYCFC, David Villa scored a goal in the 19th minute thanks to a give and go with Ned Grabavoy. New England Revolution stepped up their game after that goal and missed a few opportunities to tie. The biggest chance came around the 41st minute when a direct header by Juan Agudelo found Josh Saunders' arms at the right place and time. Saunders then was was able to scramble and stop the ball from slowly crossing the goal line. The goal that sealed the game came in the 84th minute when David Villa rushed down the left side of the field and after some witty footwork made a simple cross to find a sliding Patrick Mullins on the back post. Mullins was only on the pitch for about a minute after he replaced Nemec. Oddly enough Mullins was drafted by the New England Revolution last year. It was awesome to see this first home game end with a two zero score. Fan Message Corner Jose Quintana: As the season unfolds, I believe Shelton will become an automatic starter. I see him as the future face of the franchise. Assuming things start well, how do you see the arrival of Frank Lampard effecting the roster? NYCFC drafted Shelton with their first round pick, pick #2 overall and within the first two games you can see why. When he entered into the second half in week one against Orlando SC, he gave the team a sudden boost in speed and actually could of had an assist during his first few minutes if Nemec didn't miss the shot. In the game against New England he also came in on the second half and again contributed immediately. Within the first few minutes, Shelton sprinted down the right flank and was tripped right before the penalty box drawing a foul, and more importantly a red card. That free kick was then taken by David Villa who just missed the left upright by about a foot. I think the major weakness Shelton has is his inability to move laterally to his left. It seems he's either moves forward or towards his right. But he's a rookie, only has two pro games under his belt and certainly has the tools and stature to improve his overall game. So now, from a rookie to a veteran, I'm not too excited about Lampard joining us. It has nothing to do with preseason drama but it has more to do with my happiness with our current midfield scenario. Though The season just started, there are no injuries and those injuries will come, it's inevitable, it's part of the game.! Lampard would be a great addition for the teams depth but he wasn't brought here to come off the bench. I hope that when he does join us in June he'll be eased in slowly to learn our style of play, which is still a work in progress. He's a class player and I'm sure he'll mix well with our squad. That's my opinion. What's your opinion on Juan's question? Do you think Shelton will be and what are your thoughts on Lampard joining? Predictions Corner I predict that NYCFC will beat Colorado at a score of 2 to 1, come form behind Podcast Links Why is NYCFC such an easy target? http://www.ussoccerplayers.com/2015/03/why-is-nycfc-such-an-easy-target.html David Villa is fun, dominant, and downright perfect for MLS http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2015/3/16/8225343/david-villa-is-fun-dominant-and-downright-perfect-for-mls Resources Mentioned in this Episode Great clip below to see David Villa's first goal as a member of NYCFC thanks to @nycfc.lovers on Instagram http://iconosquare.com/p/941524631496072443_1753201702 Thanks to Jimmy T for these amazing clips!
