TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ PUSHMANN After a decade of incessant and persistent work-in clubs all over Spain, Victor M- -has become one of Spain's top DJs and producers -whose influences have been hip-hop, funk and the house, among other styles. Pushmann, delivers techno for the mind body and soul. PUSHMANN produces a Detroitesque sound with clear and strong influence of European sound, Berlin and Birmingham. His imaginary sound is based on the fast-paced, industrial and mechanical high-octane techno. In his classic genre he delivers raw goodness to intrigue the listener and take him or her to a higher level. Power, darkness and fierceness serving the dance floor. His special attention and taste for metallic percussion and steel cavernous drums well located in front of everything, almost martia, or warlike. Also draw attention to their surgical and haunting melodies, looped and accelerated to paroxysm. Sophisticated bestiality that stuns and spreads like wildfire. As a DJ, this self-confessed lover of vinyl-and three deck performances- enjoys a refined technique after many years of selecting only the best techno, house and ghetto-techno- sessions defined as strong, energetic and vibrant. Also, Pushmann is the label owner on N&N Records, big artist are here, Truncate, Zadig, Kirk Degiorgio, Mark Williams, Alexander Kowalski, Jeroen Search..to name a few. TECH CLUBBERS PODCAST W/ ORLANDO VOORN Orlando is one of the first Dutch techno producers/musicians to establish a vital connection between Detroit and Amsterdam in the early 90ʼs. Orlando Voorn has long been recognized as one of the Netherlandʼs most original and ingenious techno producers in the world of electronic dance music. Voorn began DJing at the early age of 12 years old and later went on to win his first scratch competition at Amsterdam “Club Flor3 P3l3ce”. Amazingly Voorn did this by borrowing records from his competitor. Voorn used many Aliases' back when he started to produce records in order to present various styles of music without limitation to producing only techno. It was a common fad to use fictitious names as it is today. Voorn has never limited himself to one particular style of producing. You could easily say that he is incredibly versatile in switching between many styles that demonstrates him as a well known producer. He did recordings for a legendary Detroit techno and house label KMS Records, an imprint of Kevin Saunderson using yet another alias known as “Fix” where he created a dance floor destroyer track called “Flash” which remains in many DJʼs crates at this moment. “Flash” became a hit in the Detroit clubs first before the record had broken out internationally. Voorn has a well-known history of working with Detroitʼs techno originatorʼs including derrickmay imprint “Fragile” under yet another alias “Complex” entitled “Midi Merge”. His Stunning Album on Rush Hour under his own name "In My World who hit the number one favorite Album of 2016. Not to mention a full collab Album. Frequency vs Juan Atkins in 2017 on OUTER records. In 2018 & 2019 he continues with Amazing output of music. In this episode I'm speaking with Chicago born, Detroit raised DJ, music producer, musician Alton Miller, who is widely known for his impact and as a pioneer of Detroit electronic music culture. Having started legendary club night Music Institute with George Baker and Chez Demier, working on Kevin Saunderson's KMS Records, Derrick May's label Transmat, signed artists like Joey Beltram, releasing five albums of his own, including a long list of EP's and touring the world for over three decades. Miller currently resides in Johannesburg, and during COVID, launched his own Beard grooming product line and a non for profit to develop skills and empowering young women in rural areas of South Africa, while continuing to release music. I sat down with Alton Miller at the end of an impromptu Australian tour, which he described as an exploration to revisit his footprints and to commence touring again to spread house and soul music to the world. We spoke about his early Detroit experiences and some recent ones, his label work throughout the years, his recent contribution projects and the choice of a “slow burn” career in electronic music. For Morei Info: Antwon Faulkner www.jackedrecordsdetroit.net www.thisismodulations.com Antwon Faulkner has been in the game for nearly three decades now. Born and raised in Detroit, Antwon started hustling mix-tapes at the age of sixteen. With music in his blood, this is truly what he was born to do. At thirty-five Antwon briefly relocated to Arizona but it wasn’t until late 2008, when he moved to Toronto, did we really get exposed to this next exciting chapter. While people may be more familiar with his DJ moniker, the infamous “Twonz,” in 2009 we got to know a new Antwon, an Antwon re-energized, excited and motivated. His focus shifted from throwing parties and DJing to making music and really honing his craft as a producer. Spending countless hours in the studio, Antwon is careful to avoid listening to others while in his creative zone so the product reflects him and him alone, devoid of any outside influences. With an upgrade in equipment and new pieces of gear, we’ve seen Antwon turn a corner in which he has found his lane and is settling in really nicely. The results are heard in using less loops and playing more of his own keys. While he still regularly releases tracks on his own imprint, “Hijacked Records Detroit,” recent years have seen him spreading the love with multiple releases and remixes on “Restructured Recordings,” “Bulletdodge Records,” “KMS Records.”"Downside UP," "Elephanthaus," "Thoughtless Music," "Motech LTD," "UNT Records," "Frequenza," "Sampled Detroit," and "RF Trax." His music has been played by many world class DJ's such as: Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Gene Farris, DJ Bone, Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Carl Cox, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, DJ Heather, Pete Tong, Paco Osuna, Luigi Madonna, Hector Moralez, Stanny Abram, Stacey Pullen, and many more! While production is where Antwon’s heart is, this is not to say that you can’t still catch one of his killer DJ sets. Antwon is straight up techno and prides himself on being current and remaining relevant. You can rest assured you will always hear the new hot tracks and your Detroit classics, which will now include his own productions peppered throughout the set. Listen closely as Antwon often premieres unreleased material for those that came out to jam. Now here is what you won’t see, no software and no laptop. Antwon is currently on a “Bring Back the DJ” crusade. While technology provides us with amazing advances, this is Antwon’s answer to an over saturated market of “DJs” that haven’t learned the fundamentals of beat matching or DJs having a distinct “sound” based on their own sense and use of timing. Two turntables and a mixer and a whole lot of funk! In 2018 he received the "TESTIMONIAL RESOLUTION PLAQUE" FROM THE CITY OF DETROIT for his contributions in bringing the sound of Detroit to an international audience. 1 Justice Orlando Voorn 2 Morning Side (Nino Bellemo Remix) 3 Perception of Groove (Djebali Remix) 4 What Is This Sound ArchieHamilton's HigherRepurposemix 5 Unique Oscar L 6 Bring Da Drums (Original Mix) M. Sydney Blu has established herself as one of the top electronic producers and DJs in the world. With an unbridled passion for live performance, music production, and all-around artistic creativity, Sydney has risen herself to the pinnacle of the electronic music industry. A proudly Canadian artist, Sydney’s success is largely attributed to her relentless touring schedule which she’s upheld for several years. In 2009, Sydney Blu founded her own imprint, Blu Music, on the principle of authentic, dancefloor-rich house and techno. On top of that, Sydney has released music on some of the most recognized labels in the industry including Mau5trap, Toolroom, Kinetika, Material Series, KMS Records, VIVa Music, and more. Her release "Give It Up For Me" on Mau5trap Recordings was one of Beatport’s highest selling songs, earning Sydney the rank of first female electronic music producer to have a top 10 hit on the platform. This year marked another milestone for the top-selling electronic artist, as she has currently hit Top 20 on the Beatport Tech House chart with her new single “Mind Games” on Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep in Sound. The song also was the top selling track on the labels Amsterdam Dance Event sampler making Sydney shine once again. This year, she released a run of solid releases on Roger Sanchez's Undr the Rdr, Gene Farris’s Farris Wheel Recordings, and was remixed by Italian techno heavy weight Pirupa. Looking forward, expect releases from Sydney Blu under Joeski's Maya Recordings and many more. Looking to Remix Your Meditation Practice? Text meditatenow to 44222 Highlights of this episode 1. Who has not at some point asked the question „How complex can Techno be?“ As far as Drumcomplex is concerned, the answer must be: Techno can reach a degree of complexity that gets the utmost out of studio work and live performances through a perfect division of work – and has been doing so for the past ten years and more. This is also reflected in the discography: These two cover a range of prestigious Techno labels that would have others drooling: Intec, Phobiq, KMS Records, Sleaze Records, Traum Schallplatten, Bush Records or his own label Complexed Records. Squadrum is Déé Mac & Ken Young, a techno-squad from Bruges from Belgium. Driven by the darker sound of the underground, they provide a raw sense of identity with a reflection to the experimental side. Ken Young, known from labels such as KMS Records, Celestial Recordings and Frequenza, came up with harder tracks several times. In 2014, he found his schizophrenic techno brother, Déé Mac. A formal host/vocalist known and familiar within the (hard)techno scene. Instantly, they decided to co-op and started a new techno project, with a vision focused on the deeper, more experimental soundwaves in particular. Tracklist 01.
