His first audio job was at Soho Studios in 1991, moving to Konk Studios six months later, where he worked alongside successful producers and engineers such as Bob Clearmountain, Adam Mosley, Pascal Gabriel and Gil Norton, as well as bands such as The Kinks, Galliano, Terrorvision, UFO and Elastica. After working on archiving the Depeche Mode back catalogue in 1994, he was offered an engineering role at Mute Records' in-house studio, which eventually lead to a position as Head Engineer, which gave him access to the entire Mute Records roster. Highlights include mixing Goldfrapp's 'Felt Mountain', David Bowie's 'Hours' and Nick Cave's 'No More Shall We Part'. He also worked in 5:1, mixing Moby's 'Hotel', Goldfrapp's 'Black Cherry' and more for DVD.In 2004 Kevin went freelance and re-mixed the entire Depeche Mode and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds back catalogues for SACD/DVD. Since 2008, Kevin Paul has been in charge of mixing and remixing performances at the iTunes Festivals in the UK and Germany. Hot Chip is a band from London made up of Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. Their second album, The Warning, came out in 2006. It was nominated for a Mercury Prize, and named one of the best albums of the year by NME and Pitchfork. And later, NME would include it in their list of best albums of all time. For this episode, I talked to them about one of the songs from The Warning called “Boy From School.” You might have heard it in the second season of the show Beef on Netflix—the band's also in the show—or you might have heard it on The Simpsons. You could have also heard the song in my car all the time in 2006. Yes, I have seen him out there on the road and had the good fortune of interacting with the Hotchip fellas from time to time over my years in the business as we are all english and of similar age upon this green earth. How are they these Hotchips?  I can say that they are some of the nicest fellows you could meet Joe's exceptionally sincere and has an enviable discipline when it comes to making music. He has the patience that requires to finish work in abundance and he takes pride in the process which really shows in the wide body of work that he's produced both as a solo artist collaborator and of course with his excellent contributions to Hotchip's output He knows his stuff but with such a humble delivery he never flexes it in any kind of vulgar manner. Her music combines the use of modular, analogue and rare synthesizers, orchestral textures and voice.Her early self-released works, including Cows Will Eat the Weeds and Tides: Music for Meditation and Yoga (2014), were followed by Euclid (2015), her first official album with Western Vinyl, which combined structured songwriting with ambient exploration. This was succeeded by EARS (2016), which critics praised for its seamless layering of organic instrumentation and analogue synthesis to evoke feelings of awe and disorientation. Her 2017 release, The Kid, marked a conceptual leap, tracing stages of human development through richly textured, emotionally resonant compositions that bolstered her status among experimental music audiences.Kaitlyn has performed alongside artists like Hot Chip, Glass Beams, RY X, Caribou and Four Tet, composed original works for Apple, BBC Orchestra, Adult Swim, MoMA, Red Bull and others, plus her song “Stratus” was also synced in the 2023 film Priscilla Motion Picture Soundtrack. He has collaborated with artists including the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne, Morcheeba, Panda Bear and Sonic Boom. Alongside being a guitarist and pianist, he is a synthesis enthusiast with a particular interest in sampling and explorative sound manipulation. Taylor's debut, ‘Rubbed Out’, arrived in 2008, a mix of electronic improvisations and bubble gum lofi pop, somewhere between Alex Chilton, Paul McCartney and Arthur Russell.  Since then, Alexis has released a further five albums; ‘Await Barbarians’, ‘Piano’, ‘Listen With(out) Piano’ (to be played on two turntables simultaneously) ‘Beautiful Thing’ - with DFA/Unkle producer Tim Goldsworthy - and his latest offering ‘Silence’ -  a personal and reflective, almost entirely acoustic record released in 2021 featuring jazz improviser Kenichi Iwasa, harpist Rachel Horton Kitchlew and double-bassist Sam Becker. He is also a member of Atomic Bomb, About Group, Fainting By Numbers & Fimber Bravo. Mozart Estate’s Bio Lawrence is known for fronting influential pop groups Felt, Denim and Go-Kart Mozart. Now he’s back on the road and using the moniker Mozart Estate. A new name for a new time, he says. A new band too and a brand-new album out now entitled Pop-up! Ker-ching! And The Possibilities Of Modern Shopping. The band are touring the UK all summer and beyond. Will Hodgkinson’s book Street-Level Superstar, A Year With Lawrence is published on 5th September.

Harmonics is the third collection of songs by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, who opens the floor to an introspective approach to dance music on “Follow You.” But that’s not all you’ll find on the new album: There is a wide palette of sounds and collaborations, including a track with Eno Williams of Ibibio Sound Machine, Jungle’s Tom McFarland, UK Jazz artist Alabaster DePlume, to name a few.
