Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion are the first composers to write music for the series since the original composer, Christopher Franke. The score intricately weaves driving rhythms and powerful motifs that resonate with the essence of the sci-fi narrative. Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion combine traditional orchestral elements with contemporary sounds to create the futuristic and otherworldly atmosphere of the BABYLON 5 franchise. From thrilling action sequences to poignant character moments, the score serves as a vital storyteller, enhancing every scene.. Ritmanis, Carter, and McCuistion have collectively earned a total of twenty-eight EMMY AWARD nominations and now seven ANNIE AWARD nominations as composers for series such as MARVEL'S AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD, JUSTICE LEAGUE, TEEN TITANS, BATMAN BEYOND, THE ZETA PROJECT and THE NEW BATMAN SUPERMAN ADVENTURES. For TALKING SOUNDTRACKS in February 2024, Jason Drury had the pleasure of speaking with Lolita, Michael, and Kristopher via Zoom at their respective studios in California. During the conversation, we discussed BABYLON 5: THE ROAD HOME, how DYNAMIC MUSIC PARTNERS formed, their respective projects, and where it all began, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, which was bought together by their mentor, the late great Shirley Walker. Throughout the show, Jason will play excerpts of their excellent music, the majority of which was picked by the composers themselves. After last week's special Flash-themed Spotlight episode derailed the Good Brothers a bit, they're back on track with one of their last original Superman: The Animated Series reviews wrapping up the trilogy of Bizzaro episodes with "Little Big Head Man." The hosts decide whether Writer Paul Dini and producer Bruce Timm's thoughts of this episode being "annoying" align with their own thoughts while discussing a tag-team of visuals by two animation studios with less-than-stellar histories. The hosts also talk about a wonderful Kristopher Carter soundtrack utilizing a few different styles of music, head-canon for why the Metropolis SCU has such powerful weaponry, Mxyzptlk's hatred of Superman for being Superman and why there's only one formal wear for female attorneys, teachers and newscasters in the DCAU. All of this and exciting reveal of a visit to an Elseworld for next week's episode that the hosts have not yet traveled to, all on this week's brand new DCAU Review! Come for the classic Superman: The Animated Series review, stay for the Emil Hamilton tan lore. That's right the tannest man in the DCAU is a hot topic of discussion once again as the Good Brothers review "Blasts From The Past Part I" on this week's episode. With such little STAS remaining, the hosts decide to give this two-parter a closer look by reviewing both episodes separately and providing a full episode score on next week's review of part 2. But this week the hosts still give their not-yet final scores for the same four categories, discussing the thin line between Superman being naive and being hopeful when it comes to trusting Mala in such a short amount of time. Plus how the DCAU handled the Phantom Zone versus how it was handled in the Donner Films, music from Kristopher Carter and a full break down of the voice cast await you on this week's all new DCAU Review!
