In this vulnerable and enlightening Part 2 conversation with Britton and Carolee Beckham, we dive deep into what it means to truly rewrite the rules around love, sex, healing, and relationships. From the ashes of betrayal and religious conditioning, this powerful couple rebuilt their connection through ritual, shadow work, astrology, and sacred sexuality. Together, they now guide others through spiritual awakening and conscious intimacy. We explore how Carolee and Britton ritualized their healing using moon cycles, embraced the practice of sex magic to anchor in new beliefs, and redefined what relationship and sovereignty truly mean to them. This is an unfiltered look at what healing with your partner can look like—messy, magical, and radically free. What We Cover in This Episode: What shadow work really is and why it's key to healing emotional and generational wounds How ritual and astrology (especially moon phases) shape their spiritual practices Reclaiming sexuality after betrayal and trauma The power of sovereignty in relationships, especially for women How sex magic and sacred intimacy amplify spiritual healing Redefining monogamy, polyamory, and relationship labels Real talk on kink, play parties, boundaries, and radical honesty Finding personal truth through divine feminine embodiment Connect with Eve: Support the Podcast: Become a Patreon member for ad-free episodes, exclusive content, and early access Website: Please Me Online - Reach Eve and stay connected. In this deeply personal and transformational episode, Eve sits down with Britton and Carolee Beckham, a married couple who share their powerful journey of healing, reconnection, and radical redefinition of love, sex, and spirituality. Raised in the Mormon church and bound by purity culture, Britton and Carolee candidly open up about the infidelity that rocked their marriage, the church's damaging response, and how plant medicine, spiritual deconstruction, and sacred sexuality led them to a new foundation—one built on truth, desire, and liberation. From psilocybin journeys to moon rituals, from shame to self-love, this episode dives into: The impact of religious conditioning on sex and identity Why traditional approaches to healing didn't work—and what did The role of plant medicine (including their first mushroom ceremony) in spiritual awakening How moon cycles and ritual baths became a gateway to feminine empowerment The transformative power of sexual reeducation and ISTA training Why radical honesty was the key to saving—and elevating—their marriage Whether you're navigating your own healing, redefining your relationship with sex, or exploring spirituality beyond religion, this episode is a permission slip to do it your way—with love, courage, and full-body liberation. In this powerful continuation of our conversation with Shawn and Amanda from the Touchy Subjects podcast, we dive deeper into the often-overlooked tactics of emotional and social abuse. While physical violence is more visible, the wounds caused by coercion, control, isolation, and emotional manipulation can be just as damaging—and harder to identify. We break down the Power & Control Wheel, exploring the eight key tactics used by abusers to dominate their partners, including economic control, intimidation, emotional abuse, and using children or privilege as leverage. Shawn and Amanda offer expert insight, lived experiences, and practical tools to help listeners identify red flags in their own or loved ones' relationships. This episode also features a compelling role-play to model what supportive conversations can sound like when someone discloses abuse, reminding us all how vital empathy, safety, and non-judgment are in these moments. What You'll Learn: The difference between emotional and physical abuse—and why both matter The 8 spokes of the Power & Control Wheel and what they look like in real life How abusers use privilege, isolation, and economic dependency to maintain control Why consent must be enthusiastic—and how coercion shows up in relationships The importance of recognizing patterns early and having a support system What to say (and not say) when someone opens up about abuse Vote for Eve Hall as Best Educator and Best Educator Website at the ASN Awards: If you're enjoying the show and feel it's been helpful, I'd be honored if you could take a moment to vote for me as Best Educator and Best Educator Website in this year's ASN Awards. In this powerful and eye-opening episode of Please Me, we're diving into the uncomfortable but critical topic of how abuse often hides behind the mask of love, jealousy, and control. Host Eve sits down with Shawn Schutt and Amanda Courier, co-hosts of the Touchy Subjects podcast, to unpack the hidden layers of domestic violence and sexual assault—and how abusers manipulate relationships long before physical violence ever occurs. Shawn and Amanda specialize in breaking the silence around topics most people avoid—and today, they're exposing the subtle yet dangerous tactics abusers use to gain power and control, from isolation and jealousy to phone surveillance and emotional manipulation. In this episode, we discuss: The true definitions of domestic violence and sexual assault How jealousy is often the first red flag—and why society normalizes it The role of identity and how marginalized communities face unique risks Abuse tactics like isolation, phone control, and manipulation disguised as "love" Why leaving an abusive relationship is far more complex—and dangerous—than it seems Steps to safely leave an abusive situation and how to seek support Whether you're navigating a relationship, supporting a friend, or just want to be more informed—this is an essential conversation everyone should hear. Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussions about domestic violence, sexual assault, and manipulation, which may be distressing for some listeners. Liam and Cal return from last week's interview with Robin to celebrate the Man of Steel's return to the Big Screen with a #SuperFantasMonth celebration and a look back at Superman's first appearance in the television movie, later split into three parts for syndicated broadcast, known as "The Last Son of Krypton." The Good Brothers first reviewed this episode over seven years ago, so they're taking a look back and giving a thorough once over of each of the parts of this iconic launch of the DC Animated Universe with the pilot of Superman The Animated Series. Amongst the topics discussed are the slight departures and tweaks to the origin story from anything that came before this show, the eerily relevant concerns from Jor-El about the elevation and cultural reliance on Artificial Intelligence and the surveillance state's use of the technology. Plus how the show's mandate to look different from previous Superman shows and media and to set itself apart from Batman The Animated Series is showcased in the very first episode. Plus a review of the music composition from Lolita Ritmanis that returns for an equally tragic sequence in Justice League Unlimited, name checks to 90s cartoon ReBoot and why Corey Burton remains the GOAT. In this candid and thought-provoking episode of Please Me, Eve sits down with Kels and Tess—creators of the Porn Nerds podcast miniseries and founders of Squirm—for a deeply honest conversation about porn, pleasure, and the role of communication in sexual education. Together, they dismantle the myth that porn is an accurate or sufficient source for sex ed and offer practical ways adults can build sexual confidence, curiosity, and connection outside the tube sites. From navigating shame and stigma to setting boundaries in relationships (and throuples!), this episode explores how porn can be used as a tool for inspiration—but not a manual for real-life intimacy. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why porn is not a substitute for sexual education—and what is How to communicate turn-ons and boundaries without awkwardness The role of fantasy in enhancing solo and partnered sex Why watching porn together can actually deepen connection Ways to use desire as a conversation starter, not a point of conflict How Kels & Tess built Squirm to destigmatize conversations around sex Mentioned in This Episode: Kolby's Episode Vote for Eve Hall as Best Educator and Best Educator Website at the ASN Awards: If you're enjoying the show and feel it's been helpful, I'd be honored if you could take a moment to vote for me as Best Educator and Best Educator Website in this year's ASN Awards. Cal & Liam are back with more The New Batman Adventures reviews continuing with the return of Arnold "The Ventriloquist" Whesker and Scarface in the episode "Double Talk." In this episode of Please Me, Eve sits down with Robert Johnson, founder of Shameless Care, for a raw, eye-opening conversation about the serious gaps in standard STI testing — and how his personal experience sparked a much-needed revolution in sexual health care. Robert shares how a routine STI panel — that came back negative — still left him unknowingly transmitting gonorrhea. That one moment revealed a much bigger problem in the way most doctors approach STI testing, especially when it comes to oral and asymptomatic infections. Together, Eve and Robert dive deep into: Why “full panel” testing often isn't full at all The shocking truth about oral gonorrhea and how often it's missed How the swinger and ethically non-monogamous communities approach safe sex — and where they fall short The stigma, controversy, and misunderstanding around herpes testing How Shameless Care is filling critical gaps left by traditional medical care The conversations we should be having with our partners before becoming sexually active PLUS: Robert shares valuable free resources that can help you advocate for comprehensive STI testing with your own doctor, even if you can't afford full at-home kits. It may be the kickoff to summer, but the Good Brothers are feeling a chill in the air as Mr. Freeze returns to Gotham post-SubZero to wreak havoc on anyone that has joy in Gotham City in the New Batman Adventures episode "Cold Comfort." The hosts discuss the decision to make Mr. Freeze into a "head in a jar," why Nora Fries may be the shallowest of all of the DCAU love interests, speculation on why the Mr. Freeze theme from Batman The Animated Series is absent from the episode and a fun theory as to why Mr. Freeze's new "Ice Maidens" are walking around wearing only parkas. Summary: In this unapologetically bold episode, Eve dives headfirst into one of the most critical — and most censored — conversations surrounding women's sexual health: abortion. With Roe v. Wade overturned and reproductive rights under attack, it's time to strip away the shame, silence, and political noise to get down to the facts. This episode is all about empowering women with real, practical information to protect their health, their choices, and their lives. Inside this episode: Why abortion is healthcare — not politics The deadly risks of illegal abortions still happening worldwide The difference between the morning-after pill and medical abortion pills How safe medical abortion actually is (spoiler: 98% effective when done early) Why bodily autonomy is non-negotiable How you can take action to protect your rights and support others Whether you've faced this decision personally, know someone who has, or simply believe in protecting women's bodies and freedom, this episode gives you the knowledge you need — without shame or sugarcoating. Because when it comes to women's health, Big Clit Energy means knowing your options, owning your power, and refusing to stay silent. In the quiet hills outside Edinburgh, a routine drive turned into a night of terror. In August 1992, Garry Wood and Colin Wright were delivering a satellite TV system to a friend when they encountered something that defied explanation — a strange black object hovering above the A70 road. Moments later, they experienced a blinding flash of light... and then, nothing. What should have been a short journey stretched into hours of missing time. Under hypnosis, both men would later recall being taken aboard a craft and subjected to bizarre and disturbing examinations by non-human entities. In this episode, we uncover the eerie details of the A70 alien abduction — one of the UK's most compelling and controversial UFO cases. Was it a shared hallucination, a cover-up, or genuine contact with beings from beyond our world? It's back to the future for the next several weeks as the Good brothers make their return to the DCAU with the penultimate episode of Batman Beyond which features a crossover from The Zeta Project in the episode "Countdown." When Zeta shows up to Gotham, hijinks ensue as the Mad Stan straps a bomb to an oblivious Zeta. The hosts discuss how this plot mirrors an earlier episode of Batman Beyond, expectations for the episode being set higher due to those given the writing credit and it being the original intended series finale and just what tone this episode could have taken to be a more enjoyable episode. The hosts also discuss animation that while fine suffers from a lack of action, music by the late, great Shirley Walker and a voice cast of both series' regulars.
