What do an NFL spitting incident and a sideline scuffle have to do with your scorecard? Everything—because they expose how quickly a Destructive Mindset Program (DMP) can hijack your brain and your behavior. In this solo episode of The Scratch Golfer's Mindset, I break down the trigger → emotion → belief → behavior chain, discuss how it plays out on the course (and at work, and at home), and share how to dismantle these patterns so you stop self-sabotaging and finally play to your potential. In this episode, you'll learn: Why triggers flip your brain “offline” and create tunnel vision The simple flowchart of every DMP: Trigger → Emotion → Belief → Behavior How anger, fear, or pressure quietly rewrite your self-talk mid-round Why “survive, not thrive” is your default—and how to reverse it Rapid reset tools (breathwork, presence, gratitude) you can use between shots The deeper identity-level work (mindset coaching + hypnosis) that rewires patterns Listen now if you're done with two-steps-forward, three-steps-back rounds and ready to build beliefs and behaviors that hold under pressure. Instagram: @thegolfhypnotherapist Twitter: @parsoverbogeys Key Takeaways: It's not “if,” it's “when.” Triggers will happen—build a plan for them. DMPs are learned. You fall back to what kept you “safe” before, even if it costs you now. Tunnel vision = trouble. Big emotions narrow attention and drive rash decisions. Scorecard sabotage is identity-level. Close to a breakthrough? Fear of success often fires a DMP. Awareness beats willpower. Map your trigger → emotion → belief → behavior sequence in writing. Key Quotes: “When a trigger hits, an emotion hijacks the steering wheel of your decision-making.” “Every DMP follows the same chain: trigger, emotion, belief, behavior—fast and unconscious.” “Your brain is built to survive, not thrive; safety is familiar, not optimal.” “On the course, you don't rise to your goals—you fall to your programs.” “Awareness without action is trivia; awareness with a plan is transformation.” “If you keep stopping what works right before the breakthrough, that's a DMP, not a discipline problem.” “Success is a choice—once you retire the programs that keep choosing safety.” Time Stamps: 00:00: Introduction to Irrational Behavior 02:53: Understanding Destructive Mindset Programs 05:36: Triggers and Emotional Responses 08:18: The Role of Learned Behavior 11:18: Relating Mindset to Golf and Poker 14:13: The Impact of Pressure and Expectations 16:55: Dismantling Destructive Mindset Programs 19:41: The Importance of Coaching 22:34: Conclusion and Future Directions

Many student loan borrowers are falling behind again, and the impact is more than financial.A recent change in federal law has reshaped student loan repayment, and as collections ramp back up, millions are seeing their credit scores drop. If you're feeling the weight of repayment, you're not alone. Neile Simon joins us today with practical steps to help you regain control.Neile Simon is a Certified Credit Counselor with Christian Credit Counselors (CCC), an underwriter of Faith & Finance.Major Changes in Federal Student Loan RepaymentIn early July, sweeping legislation restructured federal student loan repayment options. Borrowers now face only two choices:Standard Repayment Plan: Lasting 10 to 25 yearsRepayment Assistance Plan (RAP): A 30-year plan with payments based on 1% to 10% of the borrower's income, with a minimum of $10 per monthWhile RAP may seem like a helpful tool, the new law eliminated borrower-friendly plans such as the SAVE plan and many income-driven repayment options. For borrowers who are unemployed or experiencing hardship, this is a significant loss. The end of pandemic-era protections, including deferments, has left many unprepared and falling behind.Adding to the challenge, federal collections resumed on May 5, signaling a firm end to COVID-19 relief. The result? A wave of financial instability. The Credit Score CrisisThe fallout from these changes has been swift and painful. According to AP News, in the first quarter of this year alone:Over 2.2 million borrowers experienced a credit score drop of more than 100 points.Over 1 million borrowers experienced a decrease of more than 150 points. This sharp decline has made it difficult for individuals to secure new credit. Car loans, mortgages, and even rental approvals are now being denied. With limited disposable income, many are forced to choose between paying rent, student loans, or credit cards.More people are relying on credit cards just to cover essentials like groceries and gas. It's a cycle that only deepens their debt and financial stress. How Credit Counseling Can HelpWhile Christian Credit Counselors doesn't directly manage student loans, they play a vital role for those overwhelmed by mounting credit card balances. Neely explains how nonprofit credit counseling agencies bring clarity and relief:One-on-One Counseling: Certified counselors review your debt, income, and budgetDebt Management Plan (DMP): Unsecured debts are consolidated into a single monthly paymentCreditor Negotiation: Lowered interest rates (often between 1% and 12%), reduced monthly payments, and elimination of late feesCommitment to Repayment: This is not a loan, bankruptcy, or debt settlement. You repay your full debt—just through a simplified plan. It's a way to honor your commitments while regaining control. And once enrolled, your interest rates remain fixed throughout the program. If you're feeling weighed down by debt, don't wait. Take an honest look at your budget, explore your options, and don't hesitate to reach out for help. You may feel stuck, but there are real solutions—and people who care.Christian Credit Counselors is here to walk with you, offering biblical guidance and practical solutions to help you achieve debt freedom. This episode of the Astonishing Healthcare podcast highlights two recent posters presented by Zachary Brunko, PharmD (PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy Resident), and Nash Albadarin, PharmD, MBA (Associate Director, Clinical Programs Business Development), at AMCP 2025 and the 2025 PQA Annual Meeting, respectively. We won't give away the conclusions, but Zach explains the team's research on International Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes and how they evaluated the accuracy and reliability of ICD codes submitted on pharmacy claims. Additionally, they sought to identify patterns in ICD code submissions across client types, drug classes, disease states, pharmacy networks, and regions.Nash highlights how text messaging and pharmacist outreach to patients through Rx Enhance - a clinical program designed to improve adherence and close gaps in care - drove marked improvement in medication adherence in 2024 for commercial plan members with diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. If you're interested in the potential to streamline processes and improve decision-making by using data like ICD codes, or the potential for tech-enabled clinical programs to improve health outcomes, this episode is for you!Reference Materials & Related ContentPoster: Evaluating ICD Codes on Pharmacy Claim Submissions: Are They Reliable?Poster: The Impact of Text Messaging and Pharmacist Outreach Interventions on Medication Adherence Rates in a Commercial PBM PopulationAH043 - Pharmacy Benefits 101: DMP & MTM, Explained, with Nash Albadarin, PharmDAH035 - Pharmacy Benefits 101: Clinical Programs, with Bonnie Hui-Callahan, PharmDAH006 - Pharmacy Benefits 101: Clinical Care Teams, with Amy Stockton, PharmDPlease visit Capital Rx Insights for more information, including this episode's transcript!

Aujourd'hui, on attend.

Whether you call her The Latina Hammer, La Luchadora, or maybe just DMP: it's clear Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is making herself known in the Florida race for Senate against incumbent Rick Scott (who was involved in defrauding Medicare in 1997.) Mucarsel-Powell talks about the challenges that Floridians face, from high insurance rates to climate change, and how the normally Republican leaning Villages is showing up for the Harris-Walz campaign. Public speaker Dani Wallace joins the DMP team to talk about raising her voice after being ignored in the corporate world. This is the nuts and bolts of being heard without changing who you are.
After a few intense weeks of internet scrutiny around Anna's geriatric pregnancy and the apparent ‘speed' of moving on with her new partner, the DMP duo take a moment to reflect on where it all began. Why the podcast began and land some big news on where things are going. Expect the usual analysis of sex positions and an incident involving a clitoris and chili.
The property aficionado lands on DMP to talk raising teenage boys, the good, the bad and the ugly of your kids growing into adults - and how to navigate tech in a parental world that doesn't really have blueprint other than hollering ‘get off your phone'. An informative chat with a beautiful soul.
This is Polly's moment to open up about a different mothering journey with the author of ‘Special' Melanie Dimmitt. It's a beautiful insight into a different parental route that is often misunderstood or misrepresented. In this episode team DMP ask what ableism really is. How it presents. And what you can do as a parent to be more inclusive.
It's been a rollercoaster of a loving ride but an incredibly happy one with Anna and Olly announcing their pregnancy. With four kids between them already this is a fifth happy member of the clan. Anna stares down the barrel of being a truly ‘geriatric' mother and how she feels navigating pregnancy third time round. But the main point is… we're having a baby! A DMP baby.
To keep democracy's head above water in 2024 the Democrats need what's called a trifecta - meaning the Presidency, the House and the Senate - and keeping the senate is going to be a tough slog because Democrats have what's called a “bad map”. So today, instead of talking about the must win swing races we hear about all the time, we're going to discuss two Senate races that almost no-one is paying attention to. Two Senate races practically no-one is investing in, because it's assumed they've already been won by Republicans when the truth is they haven't. American Democrats often function in this weird defeatist culture where we keep fighting over the same 6 states and seeding other states to Republicans with the assumption they're lost and no Democrat can ever win there. It's not fair to the people who have different opinions in those states. It's not fair to the people who lose their rights thanks to Republican policies, and it's not democratic. People should have a candidate to vote for, and that candidate should have the opportunity to win. So today's episode includes two women, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (or DMP) from Florida and Katrina Christiansen from North Dakota. We're going to hear their stories and remind ourselves that no state should be written off. That everybody deserves a chance to be represented in America and with so much on the line, we need to support every Democrat running. The party might not be focusing on these two races, but We the People, should be. As always, if you find worth in what we do, please consider SUBSCRIBING to PoliticsGirl Premium. Quite the episode. We interrupt usual service of interviewing incredible women for a DMP special on Anna's engagement to Olly. From love post-divorce to looking back at one of the toughest junctures of her life, this is maybe not the Disney happily ever after but it is, indeed, very happy.
The MAFS relationship queen steps into DMP quarters and talks sex, sex, sex. If we're doing it enough, how to boost libido and some handy tools for locking in intimacy. It you're in that grey area between ‘I do' and ‘Till death do us part' and wondering if this is it? This one's for you.
