The ASX 200 rallied hard off lows to close down 5 pts at 8724 (0.1%). CBA turned around, recovering well, the Big Bank Basket closed at $269.61 (- 0.8%). Insurers slipped, led by QBE off 1.3% and IAG down 2.2%. REITs too were under pressure, GMG off 0.4% and CHC falling 1.0%. Healthcare remains in the kennel, CSL falling another 1.7% with RMD off 2.1% and COH down 4.3%. Industrials slipped a little, BXB down 1.6% and ALQ falling 1.1%. Retail stocks were also on the nose following the minimum pay award update. JBH crumbled 5.4%, NCK down 3.1%. DMP dropped 5.9% on the wage news. Tech stocks were the stars of the show again today, WTC up 7.9% and XRO jumping 7.5%, with the All-Tech Index up 3.9%. REA had a good day, as did CAR.BHP and RIO once again pushed higher on copper exposure, the Big Australian hitting new records, up 1.4%. Gold miners recovered, with NST shooting the lights out as activist shareholder Elliott took a big position and called for change. Uranium stocks eased back again, PDN down 5.9% and DYL falling 5.3%.In corporate news, SRG jumped 16.6% on $1.85bn in new contracts. TEA soared 16.2% on an acquisition, DRO up 3.6% on a new $24.1m contract, and 4DX had a bad day on CT news. NST jumped on calls for change. On the economic front, consumer sentiment rose and the BoP fell as exports eased back. Asian markets mixed. Japan down 0.5%, Hong Kong up 1.8%, and China up 1.3%. US futures: Dow down 172 and Nasdaq down 83. The ASX 200 finished at a three-week low down 56 pts at 8711 (0.6%). Broad-based losses again, Banks managed to hold firm, the Big Bank Basket flat at $289.43 (). CBA rose 0.9% and ANZ up 0.3%. Insurers eased, QBE dropped 1.2% and REITs also under pressure, GMG off 1.8% and SGP falling 2.2%. Tech and industrials also fell, WTC down 1.9% and XRO off 2.0% with the All-Tech Index down 1.6%. TLS succumbed to some profit taking, off 0.9%, WES continued to fall off another 2.1% with ALL falling hard. Healthcare remains in ICU with CSL dropping again, down 2.2% and COH falling 2.4%.4DX continued to unwind its gains, PME also fell. In resources, BHP fell 1.3% and gold miners were under pressure as bullion fell, EVN down 3.0% and NST off 2.9%. Lithium and rare earths found friends, LYC up 3.5% and PLS rising 3.0% as UBS upgraded the sector. Oil and gas also in demand, WDS up 0.8% and coal stock better together with uranium stocks better. PDN up 0.6% and WHC rising 3.9%.In corporate news, RWC reaffirmed guidance rising 3.6% and DMP stuffed again off 10.7%, after the US parent dropped nearly 9% on disappointing numbers. The ASX 200 rose 106 points to 9128 (1.2%). Banks were slightly higher with WBC up % and the Big Bank Basket rose to $310.41 (0.5%). MQG had an anaemic 0.3% rally. Financials were better with GQG up 3.3% and ZIP soaring 9.4%. NWL and HUB also rallied. Insurers flat. REITs mixed, SCG up 0.3% and MGR falling 1.0%. Healthcare mixed, CSL flat, RMD down 2.7%. Tech was the place to be following a US rally and the WTC results and job losses. WTC rose 11.1% kicking the All -Tech Index up 4.0% with XRO up 5.5% and IRE jumping 9.6% on better-than-expected results. MP1 bounced 9.8% as volatility continued. Industrials mixed, WOW soared 13.0% on much better results, JBH rallied 0.9% and WES continued lower. TAH hit the jackpot on results rising 23.5%. REA and CAR both trundled higher. In resources, BHP hitting record highs again up another 3.2%. FMG jumped 4.7% on results. RIO joined in too. Gold miners were mostly better, NST up 2.1% and EVN up 3.3%. Lithium stocks jumped again, PLS up 2.8% and MIN up 1.5%. LYC jumped 7.9%. Copper stocks also in demand, SFR up 2.2%. Uranium stocks picked up pace, PDN up 4.0% and NXG rising 3.7%.In corporate news, DMP dumped 11.1% on sales and margin issues. FLT softer on reaffirmed guidance. IRE rallied 9.6% on results and AX1 soared 19.9% after beating H1 and the dividend. DRO also had a good day, up 12.6%, after net profit jumped 367%. Still only $3.5m.On the economic front, Australian monthly CPI came in a 3.8% as expected. 3.4% on the core CPI. Slightly above forecasts. Rate rises still on the table.Asian markets came back online with Japan up 2.4%. China up 1.2% and HK rising 0.8%.US Futures slightly firmer. The ASX 200 soared today as CBA delivered in spades, the index rising 147 points to 9015 (+1.7%). How things have changed around since ‘shambolic' Friday last week. Up over 300 points since then! CBA beat forecasts and drove the banking sector higher. Not often that you see a 6.8% rise in CBA. NAB up 3.4% and the Big Bank Basket up to $292.52 (+5%). Insurers bounced back a little, SUN up 0.6% and MQG jumped 2.7% on broker comments. REITs under a little pressure with GMG down 1.0% and SCG off 0.5%. Healthcare in ICU today as CSL managed to top its shambolic CEO news with a bad set of numbers and dropped 4.6%. Some bargain hunters saving it from a worse fate. RMD dropped 4.7% as it went Ex-Dividend. Industrials were better, retail rose, JBH up 1.3% and WES up 1.0% with SGH also up 3.6% on better than expected numbers. Utilities better and ABB soared 14.8% on its deal with AGL. JHX also beat expectations and rose 10.9%.In resource land, BHP up 1.6% and FMG doing well, up 2.3%. Gold miners started slow but ended up, EVN produced a good set of numbers and strong cash generation. Up 8.9%. NEM rose 2.4% and SBM up 10.5%.  Lithium stocks improved slightly and uranium stocks off the bottom. Rare earths bounced, three-year highs in the underlying starting to feed into the sentiment. In corporate news, results featured strongly, ASX CEO has quit, DMP has a new pizzaiolo. Some flight to safety as the US administration moves against Jerome Powell. Insurers slipped on recent weather events, QBE down 1.4% and IAG off 3.6%. REITs were mixed, GMG up 0.4% and VCX slipping 0.7%. Industrials firm, WOW up 0.8% and COL up 2.4% despite price gouging inquiries in the wind. WES rallied 1.4% and TLS up 0.4%. The tech sector was slightly firmer with TNE up 0.9% and the All-Tech Index rose 0.4%. In resources, the big three iron ore miners slipped with BHP down 2.5% and FMG off 1.4% on some downgrades and fears of another Anglo bid from BHP. Gold miners rallied hard as gold hit record highs, NEM up 5.8% and GMD up 2.6%. Lithium also firm, PLS continuing higher, and uranium stocks slightly better. Oil and gas majors better as crude rises. In corporate news, DMP rose 3.1% on a new Australian CEO, RPL rose 4.7% on a trading update. CUV also up 1.4% on a new preclinical study. SUL dropped 5.3% On the economic front, November household spending rose 1%. As a Medium Tim has taken training through the National Spiritualist Association of Churches, The Omega Institute, The Priesthood of  Melchizadek, as well as under the tutorage of many influential instructors. As an energy healer he has received a certificate in ART (Advanced Reiki Training) Methodology and has achieved the Master/Teacher Level of Usui Reiki.  He possesses a certificate in Spiritualist Healing, as well as currently studying to be a Life Coach.  In related fields, Tim has also studied Modern Witchcraft, New Orleans Voodoo, and Appalachian Hoodoo. Tim is also a successful author, lecturer, media personality, and photographer.  He has penned: "Ghosts of Buffalo, Mysteries, Murder, and Mayhem in the Nickel City," "The Dogma of...ME," "The C2D1 Haunting," and "Rev. Zombie's Book of Divination."  He has co-written "Haunted Rochester," and has contributed to Marla Brooks "Animal Spells and Magick," Dark Moon Press 's titles Lost Whispers, A Collective Allegory of Haunted America," and added photographs to DMP's "Haunted Prisons," and "Haunted Asylums." Tim has been sought out to consult and appear in movies and television.  His credits include: Discovery Channel's "Ghost Lab," SyFy's "Ghost Hunters,' Spike's "Ghost Ops," and Destination America's "Paranormal Lockdown,".  On The Travel Channel's "America's Most Terrifying Places"" Tim talked about his experiences at the Haunted Hinsdale House.The next year Tim was featured on another episode of "Most Terrifying Places" where he spoke about his experiences at a house in Bergen, NY. Tim returned to the Bergen House on "A Haunting" seen on the Travel Channel. He has also appeared in Core Productions "John Zaffis, The World Within," Deftone Pictures "Ombis," "To Catch A Soul," "A Grim Becoming," Paranormal Western New York, WKBW's The NOW, Most Terrifying with Jason Hawes, and the documentary "The March Creek Tramp." He has also appeared on the Travel Channel's Hit Show "Portals to Hell (Season Two - Monte Vista Hotel)."  Tim was again featured on the Kreischer Mansion and Enchanted Church episodes (Season Three). Most recently he has appeared on these network shows: "A Haunting: Return to the Bergen House," "The Adams Street Haunting" which is an episode on Steve Shippy's "Haunted Saginaw Series," and on Nick Groff's "Death Walker" series (Season Three and Upcoming Four). To keep democracy's head above water in 2024 the Democrats need what's called a trifecta - meaning the Presidency, the House and the Senate - and keeping the senate is going to be a tough slog because Democrats have what's called a “bad map”. So today, instead of talking about the must win swing races we hear about all the time, we're going to discuss two Senate races that almost no-one is paying attention to. Two Senate races practically no-one is investing in, because it's assumed they've already been won by Republicans when the truth is they haven't. American Democrats often function in this weird defeatist culture where we keep fighting over the same 6 states and seeding other states to Republicans with the assumption they're lost and no Democrat can ever win there. It's not fair to the people who have different opinions in those states. It's not fair to the people who lose their rights thanks to Republican policies, and it's not democratic. People should have a candidate to vote for, and that candidate should have the opportunity to win. So today's episode includes two women, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (or DMP) from Florida and Katrina Christiansen from North Dakota. We're going to hear their stories and remind ourselves that no state should be written off. That everybody deserves a chance to be represented in America and with so much on the line, we need to support every Democrat running.
