Unlimited Leaguers, this one has it all. Dueling magicians, Wonder Woman as a pig, and Batman the crooner are all in this entertaining story! Circe has gotten out of her prison in hell and holds a big grudge against Diana's mom. She can't hurt her, but she can attack Diana. Batman & Wonder Woman are on a stakeout and try to catch Circe, but she transforms Diana into a pig. Batman contacts Zatanna, but her magic cannot counter the spell of the gods. While Batman & Zatanna search for Circe to get her to reverse the spell, Wonder Pig leads B'wana Beast and the League on a chase through town. She ends up at the slaughterhouse. She almost makes her escape, but she gets caught and is hogtied, facing certain slaugher. Batman and Zatanna find Circe out singing the sirens in Greece. They disrupt her show and the magic begins to fly on both sides. Batman calls a stop and offers a trade to reverse the spell. He sings "Am I Blue" and leaves the crowd in tears, including Circe and Zatanna. Diana is saved and knows that Bruce has feelings for her. **Sensitive warning - we get into a bit of debate about religions and beliefs during the show, so if you are not comfortable with that topic, you've been warned!** Hawk and Dove get introduced to us this week, and for many, it's the first time meeting this duo of chaos and order. These superpowered siblings bicker like most brothers, but they have two very different ways of approaching problems. Wonder Woman has to round them up to take on Ares as he is insighting war with his magical armor. It takes everything in Wonder Woman and Hawk's power to try and stop the Annihilator machine. But it turns out Dove's peaceful ways and problem solving is the Annihilator's one weakness. Unlimited Leaguers we are off to Funseyland but the cost of admission is our adulthood. Magic is in the air with Morgaine and Mordred seeking more power. But Mordred has plans. He is tired of being under his mother's thumb and stuck being a kid. He casts a spell that transports all people older than him to a magical limbo dimension. Morgaine transforms the League members into kids and sends them out to stop Mordred. Mordred is in Funseyland where he rules the children and has made it his own. The Justice Kids arrive and must adapt to being kids in body and mind with powers. We get to see some fun interactions between Batman & Wonder Woman as she is crushing on him. The team works together to get the kids out and then try to get the amulet away from Mordred. But he is too powerful. So they trick him to becoming an adult. The spell is broken and the adults return. Mordred is no longer eternally young but has eternal life as a very old man. As part of the Comic Boom! and Comic Source collaboration, this DC Spotlight for the week of January 28, 2026 finds Jace and Rocky breaking down a packed slate of fourteen DC releases, with discussion opening on the passing and legacy of Sal Buscema before turning to the week's books. DC KO: The Kids Are All Fight Special #1 is examined for its focus on younger heroes and its place as a largely skippable but well-drawn tie-in, while Detective Comics #1105 continues Tom Taylor's "The Courage That Kills" arc with deeper insight into the Lion's origin and Gotham's escalating crisis. Harley Quinn #58 is discussed as the start of a new arc that feels tonally familiar, followed by the Supergirl Next Door Valentine's anthology, which offers mixed results across stories spotlighting Supergirl, Jay Garrick, Poison Ivy, Guy Gardner, Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Martian Manhunter, and Green Arrow. Green Lantern #31 features a nostalgic Hal Jordan and Barry Allen team-up that advances Jeremy Adams' larger arc in subtle ways, while Superman #34 pushes Superboy Prime further into moral conflict against the Dark Legion. Absolute Martian Manhunter #8 stands out for its conceptual storytelling and increased narrative momentum, The Flash #29 introduces Dream Girl as a potential crack in Darkseid's Legion, and Harley and Ivy: Love and Crimes #3 explores the early dynamics between Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy with a more grounded emotional approach. Justice League Unlimited #15 and Justice League Red #6 wrap major threads involving Neuron, time-displaced heroes, and Red Tornado's reckoning, while Absolute Batman #16 delivers a character-driven underworld journey with Wonder Woman that highlights Bruce Wayne's loyalty and sacrifice. Absolute Flash #11 provides major revelations about the Still Point and the source of Wally West's power, and Absolute Wonder Woman #16 launches the "Season of the Witch" arc with Absolute Zatanna and a reimagined Suicide Squad, setting the stage for one of the week's most consequential confrontations.
Hello Unlimited Leaguers! We are flying off to the Fortress of Solitude. I hope we got Superman a good birthday gift. It is hard to compete with Wonder Woman's flower and Batman's money. What do you get the man who has everything? Batman and Wonder Woman are off to help Clark celebrate his birthday. Things do not go as planned. Superman is locked in the grip of the Black Mercy. It is a plant the keeps the captured person in their most fulfilling fantasies. Kal-el is a farmer on Krypton. His wife, Loana (combo of Lois and Lana), his son Van-El, Krypto, and Brainiac the helper robot make his home complete. Krypton was never destroyed. His father is still a leading scientist. Things are different for Kal-El but his personality, drive, and morals remain the same. But as events in the real-world creep in as earthquakes, Kal-El realizes the fantasy. Batman and Wonder Woman must figure out how to break Clark out. Mongul sent the Black Mercy to stop Superman. With no Superman he wants to take over the Earth. Wonder Woman begins to fight him while Batman tries to break through to Clark. Things are not looking good as only Superman is strong enough to keep Mongul at bay, as we see Wonder Woman getting beat down like we've never seen before! As Batman finally is able to pull the flower off of Supes, he's able to come back to reality just in time, and goes to help fight Mongul. Batman is taken over but breaks free quickly. Wonder Woman puts a stop to the even battle between Superman and Mongul. She throws the Black Mercy on Mongul and takes him out. Cal and Liam are back with one of the final episodes of Justice League Unlimited that ironically calls back to the distant past and involves the future for Green Lantern and Hawkgirl/Shayera with a review of the season three episode "Ancient History." The hosts discuss the complicated comic origin stories of Hawkman and Hawkgirl and how this story plays into it with the inclusion of the DCAU's own confusing Hawkman origins. Additionally, the Good Brothers speculate on Geoff Johns' credit for teleplay and a story that gets mixed reviews from our hosts. The hosts also talk about the visual integration of the ancient Egypt locale, Shadow Thief's powers and borderline perverted sounding voice and music that calls back to some of Hollywood's most epic soundtracks for movies that took place in a similar period of time and place. All of this plus a sneak peek at next week's trip around the multiverse for a new review and more await you on this week's all new DCAU Review! Please Consider Supporting the Podcast:Become a monthly or one time supporter of the pod at https://buymeacoffee.com/DCAUReviewSubscribe to the pod on Spotify or Apple Podcasts and please consider leaving us a 5-star reviewSubscribe to our new YouTube Channel Support the pod by picking up some merch at our shop https://dcaureview.myspreadshop.comFollow us: Twitter/X @DCAUReview Instagram @DCAUReviewFinal Scores:Plot: Cal: 4/10 – Liam: 6/10Visuals/Animation: Cal: 8/10 – Liam: 10/10Music: Cal: 9/10 – Liam: 10/10Voice Acting: Cal: 10/10 – Liam: 10/10Bonus Point: NoneFinal Tally: Cal: 31/40 – Liam: 36/40**Top Pick

For this Thanksgiving-week DC Spotlight covering the books of November 26, 2025, Jace and Rocky tackle one of the biggest slates of the year and find a lively mix of event chaos, holiday charm, grounded character work, and absolute-universe bombast, even as they debate whether the buzz around the Absolute line and DC KO is starting to overshadow the strong "regular" DC books. They unpack how Superman #32 quietly becomes one of the most essential KO tie-ins by finally revealing how the villains escaped the Phantom Zone and entered the tournament; how Flash #27 and Justice League Unlimited provide fun but mixed connective tissue to KO; and how Christopher Condon's Green Arrow #30 delivers another emotional gut-punch of Ollie, Roy, and Lian's family drama as the run nears its end. They also spotlight the gritty precision of Gabriel Hardman's new Black Label debut Arcadia with Batman, Green Arrow, and the Question, revisit the escalating mystery in Immortal Legend: Batman, cheer on the kaiju spectacle of Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, and take a surprisingly deep dive into the holiday anthology I Saw Ma Hunkel Kissing Santa Claus, praising the meta-hilarious Animal Man riff, the charming Supergirl/Brainiac 5 romance, and a Dr. Light/Atom story that may even seed future key elements. But the episode ultimately belongs to the Absolute Universe, with the guys debating what works in Absolute Wonder Woman #14 before completely losing their minds over Absolute Batman #14, a gloriously unhinged action-packed fight finale to the Abomination arc filled with skyscraper-dropping theatrics, venom-fueled warfare, Killer Croc callbacks, and a chilling Joker twist that redefines Bane's future. They celebrate Nick Dragotta's wildly ambitious layouts—now finally earning the industry recognition his East of West work always deserved—while reflecting on how the issue crystallizes what makes this version of Batman so different: a hero who fights not to win, but because fighting is the point. The episode wraps with their week-end rankings, teases of upcoming Fireside Chats, YouTube shout-outs, and a Thanksgiving sendoff that doubles as a rallying cry for the week's standout title: "Welcome to Gotham."
