Something magical happens when women come together with open hearts and a shared intention.✨ As the Brave Women at Work: Lessons in Letting Go e-book launches into the world (today!!!), I'm holding onto that sense of connection—because we're not meant to carry our stories alone. This special edition of the podcast is a celebration. I'm taking you behind the scenes of writing my chapter—the emotions and the courage it took to finally let go of what no longer fit. You'll hear how this experience became a powerful reminder of the strength in surrender and the beauty of community. A huge shout-out to the incredible women behind this book—Sue, Dominique, Jackie, Shawnte, Amy, Marilyn, LaRhonda, and Michelle—and our fearless leaders, Hope and Jen. Your bravery and honesty made this possible. Thank you for sharing your heart so generously.

In this review I did a lot of things differently. First, we recorded in person. Second, we reviewed a show that concluded a few weeks ago, and finally, I recorded with some I.R.L. friends. People have been recommending that I watch Severance for some time and, though the show lost in the show tournaments I ran on Twitter, I decided to check it out while I was traveling. The show is very different from any show I could think of and the three of us had to take some time to think of shows to try to compare it to. It's a show that builds out its world slowly, and intentionally, and each episode leaves you asking more questions than the one before. Now normally, that would be a bad thing but this show makes it work by answering your previous questions when it does so. The cast is great, you will fall in love with at least one character and by the end of the series, you will be dying for the new season to drop. Enjoy the conversation! 00:00 - 22:54 Non-Spoiler Talk 23:00 - End. Spoiler Talk Enjoy! I want you to think about the last time you had to hire someone? How much of the process was designed to make sure you found the right person for your unique school or was it similar to every other school in your district. If there is one thing I’ve learned over my years as a site leader, it's that the recruiting and hiring process is everything and our guests today are great examples of how the process can change your school. Today we are talking to Dr. Marcia Carmichael-Murphy a principal in Louisville, Kentucky and her Assistant Principal Dr. LaRhonda Mathies. They are going to share about their process as they look for anti-racist educators to join their team. You will hear some of the key things they listen for and what they don’t want to hear. They will also share strategies to support and retain their new hires during those challenging new teacher years.
