In this week's episode, Allen is reporting from Kentucky at the 2025 Dog of the Year National Runoff, and annual event that showcases the dogs with the most cast wins from the previous year, for both curs and feists. Allen walks us through the Top 7 cur and feists heading into the runoff and he walks us through the final results. With interviews, first we hear from Doug Marlow and the dogs he keeps now and what he started with. He also shares his insights on his breeding program and talks about his participation in competition hunting with dogs, which started at age 13. We also learn why he moved from beagles and coonhounds to focusing on squirrel dogs. Next up is Kevin Cable, fresh from winning the final cast of the cur running with Burley. Kevin shares how he spent a few years looking for a good squirrel dog before he picked up Burley, who won the DOY last year, too. We also hear from Kevin's son who is a passionate young squirrel hunter. For feist fanciers, Allen visits with brothers Mike and Marty Kelley. They talk about getting ready for the event and their experience at the running. They also mention their approach to their breeding program and reflect on some of their best dogs they've ever owned. Mike offers two very important tips for raising a squirrel dog pup. He then leaves us with the difference between a dog that will tree squirrels and a squirrel dog. Last on the mic is Vance Plante who sits down with Allen right after his win with Robber to take home the DOY for the feist division. Vance talks about going to many hunts and steep competition along the way and coming up on top this time, after the second year coming into the event in the bye seat. He also mentions how he keeps his dogs in the woods and conditioned throughout the year. Business of Agriculture host Damian Mason puts in extraordinary air miles during the winter meeting season, and he made time to visit our headquarters in Burley for the second straight year.He toured the Redox research farm greenhouse and met with our head of research, Dr, Gifford Gillette. He also interviewed company president, Colton Moon.Recently named as Top Ag Influencer at the FarmCon Conference in Kansas City, Mason said he was impressed with the cutting-edge technology at Redox.“There are two things that you guys are at the front of the pack on and it's the right thing to do,” he said. “You have products that can allow producers to reduce applications of synthetic nitrogen and phosphorus, and that is absolutely where the future is going. The fact is I'm surprised the future is not here more rapidly than it is.”Mason said he expects there will be greater emphasis on healthier eating in the coming years. He said growers for a long time have frequently prioritized bigger harvests, but he thinks food as health care with a higher protein content and nutrient density will gain momentum – especially if growers see incentives for more nutritious crops.

In this episode of GRIT: The Real Estate Growth Mindset, Brian Charlesworth welcomes Desi Williams and Elizabeth McNally, two high-performing team leaders who are breaking records in small markets. Desi Williams from Burley, Idaho, and Elizabeth McNally from Medicine Hat, Alberta, share how they've captured over 40% market share in communities where most agents settle for 20 deals a year. Desi shares her journey of moving to Idaho and starting her real estate career with no sphere of influence. Her first big break came from courageously pitching a developer for a listing, which resulted in selling all 14 homes in the project. "I had to show I was willing to do the work," Desi explains, reflecting on how determination fueled her growth. Elizabeth, from Alberta, also built her business from the ground up by focusing on professionalism and innovation, introducing professional photography and staging to her market before these practices became the norm. The conversation quickly turns to mindset and the habits that have fueled their success. Desi explains how consistency has been her superpower, maintaining 100+ conversations weekly to keep her business thriving. Elizabeth adds, "People often lose momentum after a big win, but that's when it's most important to keep going." Both agree that breaking through mental barriers, like fears of success or judgment, was essential to their growth. Both leaders reveal their systematic approach to growth, with Desi noting a dramatic shift after implementing a CRM: "I went from 40 transactions to 89 that year." They discuss the importance of consistent follow-up, maintaining high conversation counts, and providing value-add services that differentiate them in their markets. As the episode wraps up, the two discuss their upcoming mastermind for agents in small markets. "There's not enough tailored advice for small communities, and we want to change that," says Desi. Top Takeaways: (4:02) How to build stamina for real estate success (5:36) Why do some agents lose their edge? (6:23) What happens when agents make their first $30k? Even if the Trump administration does everything right, some problems will take a while to fix. Debt is a major challenge. Record levels of debt requires record selling of bonds. This pushes bond interest rates higher. Until the government starts paying down debt, bond interest rates will remain elevated. At the same time, the Federal Reserve is lowering borrowing costs by reducing interest rates. This creates an opportunity. Your Personal Bank allows you to earn dividends (likely increasing) while accessing funds to pay off debt, purchase items, or invest in assets. If dividends are higher than the borrowing costs, you keep the difference. This creates positive cash flow (positive arbitrage) on your money. We are likely headed to a historical positive arbitrage scenario. Historically, positive arbitrage has been available 24 of the past 28 years. The other 4 years the dividends and borrowing costs were similar. The average annual positive arbitrage was 2-3%. This is interest you earn on money you spent or allocated elsewhere!

This episode covers the cases of Kaelin Glazier and Regina Krieger. Investigators initially dismissed both teens as runaways, despite pleas from their families and friends. Law enforcement should've escalated the investigations, but instead left crucial evidence uncollected because of their botched investigations.
