Kyle owns a long standing CrossFit gym in James Island. Kyle has had some amazing coaches and experiences throughout high school and college that has shaped his philosophy and training principles today. He loves his community and calls it a tribe! We go on a lot of different tangents from the changes course of CrossFit, why training at a "globo gym" may not be the best idea, bro-science, and bulking up. Kyle has 3 physicians training at his gym and all 3 have taken the free CF-L1 training course by CrossFit. Meet Kyle. I was the Best Man at his wedding and referred to him as one of the steadiest people I know. He's always reliable and has a heart as big as his 6'3'' frame. In this episode, we discuss his preparation of becoming a father in a few months, reflect on some college memories from when we were roommates, and get into a bunch of other topics. We also do a throwback to the sports podcast we used to co-host for all the sports fans out there. His dogs also interrupt us a little. Around the 21-minute mark, Kyle brings up a coffee shop in Slippery Rock, Pa. that never opened. Upon limited research, I wasn't able to find any specific reasons why. Around the 36-minute mark, we discuss Slippery Rock University's tuition cost. In 2010, when we were roommates at SRU, their tuition cost was around the $6,000 amount we estimated. Here's some facts about their current cost. In the Apt 11 Sports segment, we discuss Kareem Hunt's suspension but didn't mention that it was announced this weekend that it's an 8-game suspension.

Today I am pleased to bring you Episode 6 of Creative Playdate with the incredible Kyle T. Webster! As I mention in the episode, you should really go to his site and watch his "Meet Kyle" video. He's come up with a great way to show his personality and interests to the world. Kyle is an award-winning illustrator, author and illustrator of the children's book Please Say Please!, and creator of an impressive line of Photoshop brushes that mimic hundreds of traditional materials, and then some. Kyle often uses his Photoshop brush business to raise money for important causes, so be on the lookout for those in the future. He usually announces them on Twitter and I will do my best to signal boost those fundraisers. In the episode, Kyle and I talk about his work and his experience as a parent of two children. His wife is the primary caregiver to their children which allows him to keep very regular work hours. We talk about how he is able to stick to that schedule without being tempted to work tight deadlines during times when he should be with his family. Kyle and his wife have also made the decision to keep photos of their children off of social media. We discuss that decision as well as their approach to screen time with their kids.
