Today, on the Fox News Rundown Extra, the war in Ukraine from the perspective of someone who was a casualty. Our Fox News Senior Correspondent Benjamin Hall was nearly killed covering the war in Ukraine weeks after it started in a Russian attack on our news crew in March 2022. Two of his colleagues did not survive. Fox cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and freelancer Sasha Kuvshynova were killed in that bombing. Earlier this week, Benjamin Hall sat down with FOX News Rundown host Dave Anthony to discuss his latest book, “Resolute: How We Humans Keep Finding Ways to Beat the Toughest Odds,” where he shares his long, painful road to recovery and the physical and mental challenge he has faced since that Russian attack. We also spoke with Ben Hall to help preview Tuesday's phone call between President Trump and Russian President Vladimir and to get his perspective on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and President Trump's efforts to reach a peace deal. We often must cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been underway for over two years now, and lawmakers are urging Congress to approve nearly $60 billion of military aid. The bill, however, remains stalled in the House, with many debating the merits of funding this foreign conflict overseas. Today marks two years since FOX News correspondent Benjamin Hall survived a Russian bomb attack in Ukraine that killed two of his colleagues. On the Rundown, he remembers the lives of photojournalist Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian producer Sasha Kushnyova and why journalism can never be silenced, not even in the shadow of war. The National Health Service of England banned puberty blockers as treatment for children with gender dysphoria, bringing mixed reactions from medical professionals across the globe. The move is a reversal of previous policy in the nation. The NHS justified the controversial move, citing that the safety and effectiveness of puberty blockers are not yet backed by scientific evidence. FOX News contributor and Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, Dr. Marc Siegel, joins the podcast to share his thoughts on the NHS' decision, what he has seen from studies of gender dysphoria, and how he believes the medical issue should be treated in the future. What measures can the international community implement to provide assistance to journalists covering the invasion? And what more can be done to protect journalists in the country and in exile? To discuss these and other questions, and highlight the extremely dangerous conditions reporters in Ukraine are working in, Géopolis/Euradio invited Ricardo Gutierrez (General Secretary of the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ)), and Alia Papageorgiou (President Press Club Brussels Europe, now Kyiv Press Club), for a public radio show at L'Ascenseur in Brussels. Earlier this week on The FOX News Rundown, Host Dave Anthony spoke to the organization's Co-Founder Sarah Verardo about how they reached the FOX crew, the organization's origins with the collapse of Afghanistan, and why their mission means so much to her. Verardo shared in great detail the amount of work and risk that went into the rescue and how they overcame numerous logistic and safety concerns. Due to time limitations, we could not include all of the interviews in our original segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire interview with Save Our Allies co-founder Sarah Verardo and learn more about the great work her organization has done in conflict zones and what inspired her to devote so much of her life to helping those who are in danger. In October 2020, leading up to the Presidential election, the New York Post published an article reporting that a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden had been recovered and it contained evidence that he was trading on his family's name. Not only was this story labeled Russian misinformation by countless media organizations, but Twitter and Facebook initially restricted access to the article. Now the New York Times has confirmed the authenticity of Hunter Biden's laptop and the messages that it contained. Howard Kurtz, host of "MediaBUZZ" on the FOX News Channel and the Media BUZZMeter podcast joins to breakdown how the mainstream media originally suppressed this story, the recent corroboration of this story creating questions surrounding journalistic accountability and how this may impact the public's trust in the media.   Casualties are on the rise as Russia continues to bomb major cities across Ukraine. While reporting on the tragic war in Ukraine, a FOX News crew was attacked outside of Kyiv. FOX cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and journalist Sasha Kuvshynova were killed in the attack while FOX News correspondent Benjamin Hall suffered grave injuries.
