A Kingdom View Of Immigration March 9, 2025 ✸There Seems To Be a Problem! False Assumptions Are Poison! What is an Immigrant? What is an “illegal” immigrant? Beware of False Assumptions! (i.e., all who have not legal documents are here for wrong agenda. Although some have abused the system, committed criminal acts and have evil intentions, and need to be deported, many are NOT in that category!) Matthew 7:1, 2 – danger of judging Many have come legitimately, seeking opportunity, safety, belonging. Many are contributing. (Labor skills, paying taxes, contributing to community, schools, retirements, etc. The system is broken and many who have many years of labor, paying taxes, obeying laws …. Have not been offered a WORKABLE path to citizenship. It seems that God has a special place in His heart for “non-natives”. Our spiritual heritage: (Abraham, Joseph, Moses, etc.) were “migrants”. (Remember: Abraham's seed, i.e. Jacob, Joseph, Moses lived in Egypt) A “stranger”, “alien” was one who was not of covenant family, genetic descent, but who desired to know the God of His covenant people. If a stranger, “alien”, (resident immigrant) wanted to join the Faith and commit to the covenant relationship with God, they are to be loved and welcomed. They were to receive the same covenant benefits as those born into the genetic covenant family! See Leviticus 19:33,34; Deuteronomy 10:19. Every Christian is a spiritual “alien, stranger”! As a citizen of Heaven, we are under a different primary system of government, economy, security, etc. (God is our Provider, Defender, Source of Truth, etc.) Remember Ephesians 2:12, 19; 1 Peter 1:1; 1 Peter 2:11; Philippians 3:20. Believers are “resident foreigners” (stranger, pilgrims). Actions of Grace and Honoring the Righteous (Remember: we are all immigrants) Align my heart with the Lord and His Actions and attitudes. Pride? Anger? Judgement? Rejection? Matthew 7:12; Luke 6:31: View and treat all as you desire to be viewed and treated! My Answer to the Lord's question …. “What would you do? Advocate for Kingdom perspectives! Don't be swept up in non-righteous, non-gracious attitudes! Pray and take corresponding action! (i.e. identify and reward those who have already been acting as solid, contributing citizens! Countless immigrants have long worked, paid taxes, obeyed laws, contributed to the communities and this country. Leaders should find a way to reward them with a workable path to citizenship!!! (Perhaps a tack force to identify and reward the righteous!)
Eleven years ago, I wrote a blog post with a title that asked the question, “Can you replace a recruiter with an algorithm?”. It provoked an instant reaction and a resounding no from everyone who read it. Fast forward to the present day, and technology has moved on exponentially, but the debate about technology replacing what have always been considered very human aspects of recruiting remains as emotionally charged as it has always been. The mental models and cultural norms around recruiting run deep, but are we having the right debate? Perhaps the real shift isn't about AI replacing recruiters. It's about how quickly recruiters can rethink their role and let go of outdated assumptions. There are several recruiting tasks that AI can already do much better than humans, and the scope is only going to increase. So what's left for recruiters? How do we redefine the role of talent acquisition in an AI-driven world? And why is mindset the most critical factor in whether AI becomes a threat or an opportunity? My guest this week is Nikos Moraitakis, CEO of Workable. In our wide-ranging conversation, we discuss the advancing cognitive ability of AI and how it is changing the way we need to think about what it means to be a recruiter. In the interview, we discuss: The increasing cognitive ability of technology Recruiting tasks that AI can already do better than humans How AI can do things that are impossible for humans Lessons from adjacent areas, such as finance The importance of recruiters focusing on high-value tasks Agentic AI and Reasoning Models What will the ATS of the future be like Follow this podcast on Apple Podcasts. Court reform is in the air. Having presented the problems with the 18 year term proposals before the House and Senate, Professor Amar's plan deserves its own scrutiny. We therefore present the plan in detail, explaining the problems that it attempts to solve, the principles it attempts to uphold, and the criticisms it might attract. Since it is a proposal and not yet a statute, it is subject to modification and hopefully improvement, so we invite the audience to chime in with your own critiques and suggestions. Let's keep the conversation going. CLE credit is available from podcast.njsba.com.
REAL USE CASES IN RECRUITMENT AUTOMATION: LIVE DEMO Friends, I'm on a mission: industry everywhere is in a race for become AI-enabled, and those that are slow to adopt are going to be outcompeted by those who can now move faster and better. What we've been lacking is real examples of how RPA (Recruitment Process Automation) and AI can really take out chunks of the work recruiters do. That changes today! - Where in the recruiting pipeline does RPA / AI have greatest impact? - What does it look like from lead generation / prospecting POV - Lead enrichment - Outreach, email and calling - Meeting scheduling - Candidate sourcing - Offer management - Back office RPA - What else? Mark Chaffey, CEO (hackajob), Jordan Shlosberg, CEO (Atlas), Nikos Moraitis, CEO (Workable), Stan Wasowicz, Founder (ScottyAI), Mayur Macwan, CEO (Round. One), Max Armbruster, CEO (TalkPush) & friends are going live demo their own products on Brainfood Live - never before seen footage of Founders who probably haven't done a demo themselves in years ;-)

Despite the understandable enthusiasm around supply chain sustainability, there are many challenges associated with the fight to lower emissions: regulations, costs, and engineering, just to name a few. One of the challenges procurement will appreciate most, is the journey towards a workable business model that reflects today's infrastructure reality and companies' ability to invest. In this episode of The Sourcing Hero podcast, Host Kelly Barner welcomes Ron Hunt. Ron is the Director of Business Development for Forum Mobility, a company working to make it realistic for fleets to achieve their zero emissions goals without having to build capital intensive charging capabilities. In this interview, Ron shares much of the advice he offers to carriers looking to partner with their customers as they pursue zero emissions fleets: Issues fleet operators may run into when evaluating the transition to zero emissions vehicles The current supply/demand balance between carriers offering a zero emissions fleet and shippers looking for them How regulations are driving this transition v. sustainability and ESG goals Links: Ron Hunt on LinkedIn

History's most infamous serial killers had calling cards, from names and symbols to systems and strategies of predation. But the only thing tying together the story of Edward Wayne Edwards was his ability to resist definition. He was a robber and a self-proclaimed “reformed man.” He was a father and a Zodiac Killer enthusiast. He was a vocal opponent of crime while murderously slipping under the radar. To this day, it's unclear all that he got away with. This week's sponsors: Daily Harvest - Go to dailyharvest.com/daisy to get up to $40 off your first box.
