The United States' decision to withdraw from UNESCO was "regrettable" but "anticipated", the organization's director-general said on Tuesday, warning the move could undermine cooperation with US-based partners. This decision contradicts the fundamental principles of multilateralism, and may affect first and foremost our many partners in the United States of America—communities seeking site inscription on the World Heritage List, creative city status and university chairs," Audrey Azoulay said in a statement. 。The Donald Trump administration announced on Tuesday that the US would again leave UNESCO, just two years after rejoining under former president Joe Biden. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said the organization promotes "divisive social and cultural causes", and its focus on United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is "at odds" with "America First foreign policy". Washington also cited UNESCO's decision in 2011 to admit the State of Palestine as a member state, calling it "highly problematic", contrary to US policy, and a factor in what it sees as anti-Israel rhetoric within the agency. The withdrawal will take effect at the end of next year. Trump previously pulled the US out of UNESCO in 2017 on the grounds of "anti-Israel bias". Azoulay rejected the US claims, saying they "contradict the reality of UNESCO's efforts, particularly in the field of Holocaust education and the fight against antisemitism". UNESCO is the only UN agency responsible for these issues and has received broad praise from institutions including the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, the World Jewish Congress and the American Jewish Committee, she said. The agency has supported 85 countries to educate students about the Holocaust and genocides, and "will continue to carry out these missions, despite inevitably reduced resources", she added. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric also defended the agency, saying UNESCO—and Azoulay personally—have been "at the forefront" of the fight against antisemitism. UNESCO's decision to admit Palestine as a member in 2011 triggered a US law barring funding to the agency, resulting in more than $500 million in unpaid dues after the Trump administration first withdrew. At the time, the US had been contributing about $70 million annually—about 22 percent of UNESCO's budget.2011年,联合国教科文组织决定接纳巴勒斯坦为成员国,这引发了美国法律禁止向该机构提供资金,导致特朗普政府首次退出后,有超过5亿美元的未缴会费。 22%。When the Biden administration rejoined in 2023, the US was planning to pay more than $600 million in back payments. Azoulay said UNESCO has "undertaken major structural reforms" and diversified its funding since 2018 to offset the effect of the earlier withdrawal. The US contribution now makes up just 8 percent of the agency's budget, even as the overall budget has grown.A UNESCO source, speaking anonymously, described the US move as "purely political, without any real factual base". The organization had already been "forced" to do without US money for several years after their departure in 2017, the source told AFP. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday that the US' decision to quit UNESCO "is not what a major country should do", adding that China has always firmly supported the work of the agency. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN, we call on all countries to reaffirm their commitment to multilateralism, and take concrete action to support the UN-centered international system, the international order underpinned by international law, and the basic norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter," he said. 。France, where UNESCO is based, stated in a news release that it regrets the US' decision to withdraw from the agency, which was founded in 1946 "to prevent conflicts through education, culture and tolerance". French President Emmanuel Macron said on X that UNESCO had his "unwavering support" that would not weaken after the US departure. Jack Midgley, principal strategy consultant at Midgley & Co and an adjunct associate professor at Georgetown University, called Trump's decision to withdraw from UNESCO "a counterproductive act of self-isolation and meanness on a global scale".Midgley&Co的首席战略顾问、乔治城大学的兼职副教授杰克·米奇利称,特朗普退出联合国教科文组织的决定是“在全球范围内自我孤立和卑鄙的适得其反的行为”。"The president has gone from 'America first' to 'America only', no matter what the cost to global culture or to America's standing as a promoter of peace and human dignity," he told China Daily. 。multilateralismn.多边主义/ˌmʌltiˈlætərəlɪzəm/human dignityn.人权/ˈhjuːmən ˈdɪɡnɪti/

According to press reports, the US strikes on Iran did little. According to the President, that's not true, and according to Alex Jones these press reports were released by “Israeli surrogates.” Why would Israel, the greatest ally, do this? Simple, they want war. But how could they so easily take control of the media narrative? Simple, they clearly control the media, and the goal is the make the Trump administration look incompetent and weak. Not something allies typically do. The most damaging spy in the history of the country was Jonathan Pollard, and Israeli, and he was part of something much larger, an Israeli spy network with a code name MEGA. This is the same Israel that takes military technology and sells it to the Chinese, who then turned around and sell it to the Iranians, who then Israel tells us we have to destroy because they have advanced technologies. It's time to admit something as Americans: ISRAEL is the deepstate; they are the globalists. Rabbi Shmuley's recent statement calling America the “united states of Israel” and Tammy Bruce, State Department spokesperson, saying we are “in the greatest country on earth, next to Israel” should be all the proof one needs. The moment Trump decides to not play ball, Vance, the Palantir plant, will become President. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. [This is a slightly different kind of podcast, a news summary - and will have its own podcast feed eventually]Every Fourth Turning, at least since the founding of America, has been defined by a great war: the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and World War II. When I began this Substack a few years back, the world war we might be fighting would be Iran, Russia, and China against the United States and its allies, including Israel. It made sense then. Not so much now. That was before Putin invaded Ukraine, before October 7th, before the United States government pursued Trump like he was a war criminal, before his attempted assassination, and his second win. Steve Bannon says we're already fighting World War III.Now, as Trump declares “unconditional surrender, " everyone wonders, is this it? Is this our great war?Iran doesn't appear to have an ally in Russia or China at the moment. Trump just met with his security advisers and will address the nation later this afternoon. It does feel a little like the post 9/11 drumbeat for war, and we're all still wary and fearful that it might turn into “regime change” rather than a negotiated peace. We will know what their plans are soon enough. The neocons like Lindsey Graham are prepared to go all the way.Earlier today, Tammy Bruce spoke to the press from the State Department:She mentions that Trump has made the same warning, that Iran can never have a nuke, over 40 times, going back to 2011. Here is that video:Dealing with Iran has been one of the main conflicts between Trump and Barack Obama, so it's easier to see how it started and how it's going. Trump's administration is not the Bush administration. If the 2008 Wall Street meltdown was the crisis that sparked the Fourth Turning and the mission is, as Steve Bannon says, to dismantle the Deep State that took us to the $700 billion bailout, then a big war in the Middle East would fracture the MAGA coalition. For his part, Benjamin Netanyu has said he believes Iran threatens America too, and indeed, they've been trying to assassinate Trump. If there is a graceful way to end the threat without getting into war, that's the path Trump will want to take.A MAGA Divided Cannot Stand.MAGA is split over whether or not to aid Israel in its fight against Iran. Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and Marjorie Taylor-Greene are locking arms with Dave Smith and Glenn Greenwald to push back against any involvement. Breitbart reports that members of the Squad have now joined Thomas Massie to limit Trump's power on Iran:From Breitbart:While he remains the sole Republican backing such a legislative effort, several top Democrats from the far-left of the Democratic Party, including “Squad” members Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ilhan Omar (D-MN), have indicated they are signing on to the Massie proposal.Alex Jones is opposed to any help or aid in Israel's war, writing:Tucker Carlson and Steve Bannon discussed our involvement, with Bannon urging Trump and MAGA to keep their eye on the ball. He means to go after and dismantle the Deep State:Raheem Kassam sums up the internal conflict well:Ice Raids Paused, Then UnpausedThe Iran conflict is not the only dividing issue in MAGA. There is a split between those who want to support farms and hotels with their large immigrant staff, many of whom are undocumented and have worked for the companies for decades. Versus the opposing side, who insist Trump must not back off even an inch when it comes to mass deportations. Trump listened to them and retreated from his original plan to offer a potential middle ground.Federal Agents Arrest NYC Comptroller & Mayoral Candidate Brad Lander At Immigration CourtAccording to the Left, Lander was arrested for asking to see a warrant. But the truth is, he was arrested for assault, per a Fox report:New York City Comptroller Brad Lander was arrested by Department of Homeland Security(DHS) agents on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a federal officer. The article quoted a DHS spokesperson,"Our heroic ICE law enforcement officers face a 413% increase in assaults against them—it is wrong that politicians seeking higher office undermine law enforcement safety to get a viral moment, no one is above the law, and if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will face consequences."Letitia James said:"This is profoundly unacceptable. Arresting Comptroller Lander for the simple act of standing up for immigrants and their civil rights is a shocking abuse of power. No one should face fear and intimidation in a courthouse, and this is a grotesque escalation of tensions. The administration's rampant targeting of New Yorkers only makes our communities less safe."The Democrats had four years of the Biden administration to do something about the border. They didn't. Instead, they encouraged millions to flood in, many of them unvetted. Yet, because the migrants represent an oppressed group, the Democrats can't turn away. They are choosing this as one of their base issues because it feeds their ongoing delusion that they are living under a fascist dictator. No Kings vs. Army's 250th AnniversaryThe coverage of the No Kings protest was amplified to look like a grassroots movement, even though it was well-funded and populated by the same people who had protested in the “Hands Off” event not long before. It reached roughly the same number of participants, around 5 million. This will be their playbook for the next five years. The legacy media muted the coverage of the Army's parade, and if they covered it at all, they covered it as militaristic, fascist-like, and compared it to North Korea. Here is a balanced report by Mark Halperin, Sean Spicer, and Dan Turrentine on 2Way:Assassination NationThe Democrats will not let the crisis of the recent shootings of Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota go to waste and are currently calling the shooter the “MAGA assassin.”On the list of targets were 45 Democrats, “including dozens of Minnesota lawmakers and members of Congress such as Rep. Angie Craig, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Sen. Tina Smith. It also included members of Planned Parenthood, philanthropist MacKenzie Scott, who has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to the organization, and several healthcare centers across the Midwest,” according to Fox9.As usual, the reaction to the shootings, horrific and tragic though they are, is far less than we saw for the assassination of the healthcare CEO Brian Thompson by Luigi Mangione, who has been turned into a martyr and a hero by the Left. Both assassination attempts against President Trump were not treated the same way by the legacy media, and coverage was muted. Again, we turn to 2way to hear balanced coverage. If you think we're living through crazy times, you would be right. Every Fourth Turning feels transformational in good and bad ways. Change is all around us. These are just a few pressure points we are currently hitting as a country.Let me know if you like this format. Until next time.[I hope to turn this into video but I ran out of time to do it today. Next time]. This is a public episode. It's Wednesday, April 23rd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims have killed 20,000 Christians since 2015 Nigerian Muslims have killed over 20,000 Christians since 2015, according to a report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law. The report accuses various jihadist groups of targeting Christian communities in the southeast part of the African nation. The group also blames local government leaders for doing nothing about the violence. The report called on the United States to reinstate Nigeria on its list of Countries of Particular Concern and to classify Fulani Muslim jihadist herdsmen as an Entity of Particular Concern.  Nigeria is ranked seventh on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.     Psalm 144:4-5 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD? They are in great fear, for God is with the generation of the righteous.” Worldwide economic outlook looks more dim The International Monetary Fund released its latest World Economic Outlook yesterday. The report projects the world economy will grow 2.8% this year, down from a previous forecast of 3.3%.  Large economies like the U.S. and China are expected to weaken. U.S. economic growth is forecast to be 1.8% this year, down from a previous expectation of 2.7%.  The declining economic outlook comes during the uncertainty of what U.S. tariffs will look like.  Supreme Court likely to support parental opt-out right The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in a religious freedom case yesterday. Public schools in Montgomery County, Maryland don't let children opt out of classes that include sexually perverted lifestyles in storybooks. Parents are challenging this. They come from various backgrounds including Muslim, Christian, Roman Catholic, and Ukrainian Orthodox.  The conservative majority on the Supreme Court appeared likely to support parents in the case during the hearings yesterday.  Eric Baxtor, Senior Counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, commented on the case, reports The Hill. BAXTOR: “Around 300 parents in Montgomery County, [Maryland] are just looking for the right to opt their children out of instruction that is highly controversial, tells kids that doctors guessed at their sex when they were born, and that they can choose for themselves who they are. “The board allowed opt-outs for an entire year and then overnight kind of withdrew them with no explanation. We're simply asking for that opt-out right to be returned.” Ephesians 6:4 says, “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” Maryland's physician-assisted suicide bills killed Speaking of Maryland, the state did not enact physician-assisted suicide bills during its most recent legislative session. This is the eighth time such deadly legislation has been introduced and the eighth time it has failed. Americans United for Life celebrated the defeat of the bills, crediting “numerous grassroots testimonies and thousands of letters speaking out.” Sadly, physician-assisted suicide is legal in 10 states and the District of Columbia. Secretary of State Rubio cuts staff by 15% U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced plans to overhaul the State Department yesterday. The changes will cut staff in the U.S. by 15% and close or consolidate over 100 bureaus around the world. It's part of President Donald Trump's “America First” foreign policy. In a press statement, Rubio said, “The sprawling bureaucracy created a system more beholden to radical political ideology than advancing America's core national interests. That is why today I am announcing a comprehensive reorganization plan that will bring the Department into the 21st Century.” Tammy Bruce, a State Department spokeswoman, added this in a press conference yesterday. BRUCE: “This is a whole of government, every department looking at how they can make their department more efficient, less burdensome, less bureaucratic. This is the State Department's version of that.” Alabama schools to display Ten Commandments, ban drag shows Lawmakers in Alabama passed several conservative bills last Thursday. One bill would require public schools to display the Ten Commandments. Republican State Rep. Phillip Rigsby, the sponsor of the bill, shared his mindset. RIGSBY: “In no way is this establishing a religion in the schools.  I think it gives us a good, at a minimum, moral compass.” Another bill would ban schools from promoting sexually perverted lifestyles through instruction or homosexual pride flags. And a third bill would prohibit schools and libraries from hosting drag performances.  Appearing on WDHN, Republican State Rep. Mack Butler explained why he believes children should be protected from drag shows in schools and libraries. BUTLER: “I'm a dad, you know, and if you look at all these sponsors of the bill, same thing: just dads trying to protect children. I'm just trying to take a stand for our children. Let them have their innocence. Just protect them.” The measures have passed in the state's House of Representatives and are awaiting approval by the Alabama State Senate.  Louisville Univ. pays $1.6 million to fired Christian psychiatrist And finally, University of Louisville officials agreed to a nearly $1.6 million settlement in a free speech case recently. Dr. Allan Josephson worked for the university's Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology. The Christian psychiatrist spoke out against transgender drugs and surgeries. In response, the university demoted him, harassed him, and fired him. Travis Barham with Alliance Defending Freedom commented on the recent court victory for Josephson. He said, “After several years, free speech and common sense have scored a major victory on college campuses.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, April 23rd, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe for free by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Daily News Brief by TRT World

* Netanyahu orders prep for ceasefire talks under US proposal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting with a delegation that returned from Qatar to discuss ceasefire negotiations in Gaza. At the end of the meeting that included ministers and security officials, Netanyahu ordered preparations for negotiations under a proposal by US President Donald Trump's Special Mideast Envoy Steve Witkoff. The proposal includes the immediate release of 11 Israeli hostages and the remains of half of the deceased captives. Israeli media previously reported that Witkoff presented a new proposal during ceasefire talks in Doha. * US, Russia discuss Ukraine, Yemen strikes US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke to discuss the next stage in talks on ending the Ukraine war. According to State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce, the top diplomats "agreed to continue working towards restoring communication between the United States and Russia". Rubio also updated Lavrov on military activity in the Middle East, where US forces carried out deadly strikes against Houthis in Yemen. * Over 100,000 rally in Serbia against Vucic government At least 100,000 people descended on Belgrade for a mass rally seen as a culmination of months-long protests against Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic and his government. Large crowds of flag-waving protesters clogged the downtown area of the capital despite occasional rain, with people hardly able to move and many stuck hundreds of metres away from the planned protest venue. Police said the crowd reached 107,000 people with no major incidents reported. Serbian independent media described the rally as the biggest ever in the country, saying the numbers were much higher. * Bangladeshi students urge UN to seek ICC trial for Hasina Bangladeshi student representatives urged the United Nations to assist in taking former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's case to the International Criminal Court over alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising last year. The demand was made on Saturday during a meeting between a student delegation and visiting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Dhaka. Guterres is in Bangladesh for a four-day visit, set to conclude on Sunday. * Trump mutes Voice of America, employees put on leave President Donald Trump's administration has begun making deep cuts to Voice of America and other government-run, pro-democracy programming, with the organisation's director saying all VOA employees have been put on leave. On Friday night, shortly after Congress passed its latest funding bill, Trump directed his administration to reduce the functions of several agencies to the minimum required by law. That included the US Agency for Global Media, which houses Voice of America, Radio Free Europe and Asia and Radio Marti, which beams Spanish-language news into Cuba.

We open with news the Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), who seemed to be vying for the position of Designated Liar, has separated from his wife and seems to have cozied up to a women almost half his age who runs a radical, far-Left propaganda outlet. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) wants you to know that illegals, who illegally cross the border are not criminals. Border Czar Tom Homan reminds her of the Federal statues on the books. At the same time, CBS was forced to admit the Trump policies at the border are working. On top of that, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has repurposed the CBP One app and turned it into the CPB Home app, for illegals to self-deport. Looks like more ActBlue smurfing outlets are behind the organized protests against Elon Musk. There has been a lot of violence and destruction as a result. Dept. Chief of Staff Stephen Miller says Democrats are threatening to shut down the government over a clean continuing resolution. He reminds us that there has never been a clean CR that has not been passed. This leads to comments by President Trump over how lost and out of touch the Democrats are today. As an example of their unhinged behavior, we bring you a snippet of Randi Weingarten losing her mind over the Dept. of Education being dismantled. How can she and others funnel money into pockets without that Federal bureaucracy? This leads to a statement from both Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his spokesperson, Tammy Bruce, that 83% of USAID grants/programs were being shut down. Bruce was asked if the DOJ would be involved and she said she did not know. On top of that waste, we find our government spent more than $1 trillion dollars implementing the Biden DEI initiatives. Finally, we close on how Canada just pulled a fast one on it's citizens, elected a new leader without a single primary ballot. Mark Carney wants Canadians to know, that while the U.S. is fighting against woke, they are doing the exact opposite. On Monday's Mark Levin Show, President Biden and Kamala Harris try to camouflage their Marxism with words like democracy. Their war on the Supreme Court, war on federalism and the states, and their war on the filibuster is underway. Biden and Harris have demonstrated their authoritarianism today - change the Supreme Court to institute their agenda, as they reject the states when it comes to abortion and demand the elimination of the filibuster to prevent any challenge to their legislative demands, Every institution and process in place to prevent their likes from concentrating power and building a police state they seek to destroy. It's sickening to watch Biden lecture us about civil rights when it was his party that filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act. This would be Biden who threw in with at least 6 of the worst racist-segregationists in the Senate, all of whom were involved in filibustering the 1964 Civil Rights Act, in his effort to prevent public school desegregation via busing. Moreover, Johnson was one of the worst racist segregationists of his time. Also, Israel is at war on all fronts and Biden is either withholding or slow-walking weapons. While they are doing this to Israel – the Biden administration has put no new sanctions on Iran. The Iranian regime is interfering in our election to help Harris. Iran is seeking to undermine Trump's campaign through online influence operations. Later, a short list of Harris' radical positions. She wants to eliminate fracking, so you can all freeze to death. She wants an open border and to decriminalize illegal immigration. She wants free health care for illegal immigrants which will destroy our healthcare system. She opposes Title IX. She would destroy women's equality in sports.
