The start of a new season and school year allows us to reboot. Even if we no longer have kids in school, it's a chance to turn a page in the calendar and start fresh. But let's be honest…it can also be incredibly overwhelming. This is why Ordering Your Priorities is the perfect study for this time of year. Join Lisa and Laura as they walk us through Ordering Your Priorities, an eight-week Walking with Purpose Bible study. Here's the truth: not all things are urgent, and some good things can remain undone. If the thought of not getting it all done makes your heart race, this series is for you! In today's episode, Lisa and Laura discuss Lesson 1, Talk 1: Building the Good Life, setting the stage for the weeks ahead. Tune in now, and let's start building the good life together! Open your Heart to our key Scripture. Matthew 7:24–27: Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Psalm 33:11: The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations. (NIV) Psalm 32:8: I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Luke 11:28: Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it. Luke 14:28–30: For which of you, deciding to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, “This man began to build, and was not able to finish.” Jeremiah 6:16: Thus says the Lord, “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.” 2 Corinthians 4:18: Because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal Invite Him in with this episode's questions for reflection. In which relationship are you feeling the scrape of the chisel? Are you feeling tempted to pull back and isolate? Invite God to reveal to you if this is actually an opportunity to grow more like Him. Show mentions. St. John Paull II. Man cannot live without love. He remains a being that is incomprehensible for himself, his life is senseless, if love is not revealed to him, if he does not encounter love, if he does not experience it and make it his own, if he does not participate intimately in it. This, as has already been said, is why Christ the Redeemer “fully reveals man to himself.” Flourish: The Art of Being Human. Register here. Benjamin Windle, Digital Church in a Lonely World. We all carry brokenness, personality quirks and the ability to make choices that hurt others. However, the potential pain of being in community is not simply an unwanted by-product; it is a key part of the purpose of community. It is the very fact that community costs us something that makes it valuable. Beth Moore: If we only choose to be around those who require virtually nothing hard from us, what will prompt us to change? God often uses others as the chisel to carve true integrity into our rough personalities. A chisel that never scrapes the stone is useless. Whether you listen to The Link in your car via podcast or in your living room on YouTube, it's an online forum. Today online is where the next generation [and many of us now] engages with the world around us. It's where we find answers to our questions, a place to talk about tough and relevant topics. So, how can we engage this area with the Gospel? On this episode of The Link, Pastor Chris sits down in the studio - all the way from Australia - with author and pastor Dave Adamson to discuss how we can leverage the digital space to help bring the Gospel to those outside of our church walls. Welcome to the Hybrid Ministry Podcast, where we explore the ever-evolving landscape of ministry in the digital age. In this enlightening episode, we dive deep into the emerging Generation Alpha and its future implications for pastors and church leaders.
We're both on holiday this week so we're bringing you an episode we first recorded in 2021 during the covid pandemic. It explores one of the most significant and potentially long-lasting ways the covid pandemic has affected church life – the shift to digital. Ever since the first lockdown began, churches of every shape and size and from every denomination have been forced to offer worship online. And even though it has been legal to re-open buildings since last summer, most have continued to livestream, pre-record or video conference their way through the pandemic alongside some physical gathering. Will this continue indefinitely even when covid is long gone? Are we really seeing digital church spark a revival among non-churchgoers? And what implications for our worship and our theology does this brave new online world pose? - Subscribe to the Matters of Life and Death podcast: https://pod.link/1509923173 - If you want to go deeper into some of the topics we discuss, visit John's website: http://www.johnwyatt.com - For more resources to help you explore faith and the big questions, visit: http://www.premierunbelievable.com

(You'll catch a bit of this at the beginning of the podcast.) Now as we're talking how to take your Digital Ministry to the Next Level, Dave and Dr. John Harris (my co-author for Sharing Jesus Online) jump on a podcast to talk about the power of a digital missionary, and the potential to have that missionary reaching into digital community to connect with a digital person. This convo, right here, may be one of my favorite podcasts we've done to date. Years ago “Church 3.0,” a book by Neil Cole, was heavily influential in my life. Understand, Neil didn't write the book in a digital context. When he wrote “Church 3.0,” very few people were doing anything in the digital ministry space. But when I read this book back in the early 2010s, all I could think about is how some of these practices could exist digitally. So, similar to our recent conversation with Leonard Sweet, I loved this opportunity to sit down with Neil Cole and talk to him about Digital Church. Mind you, we're taking Neil's ideas into a whole new realm, but I counted it a pleasure to talk with another pioneer in a unique space. We delved into it in the conversation, but Neil was a decade or two before his time! As many contemporaries today are praised for their work in micro church areas, Neil was criticized for his work in the space (and, to be honest, I can relate to that). We even brought into the convo Jason Morris, who arguably is the smartest man in all of digital ministry, who was also influenced strongly by Neil's book...So, looking for a conversation involving three out-of-the-box thinkers about a micro/digital approach to church, where we also talk about the turmoil of pioneering in church space? The purpose of the Digital Church Network is starting and multiplying digital & metaverse disciple-making & church planting movements. The heart of Digital Church Network is to do something different. They're empowering a different type of planter to start different types of churches in different spaces, reaching a different type of person. Primarily a bi-vocational movement, they provide Community, Care, and Coaching for leaders who sense the vision of Jesus to seek and save the lost in digital and metaverse spaces. They began early 2022, launching their digital community in February, which is now over 500 members strong! They just launched our digital church planter training called Launchpad. In addition, they also launched 12 church networks involving 70+ pastors and planters as they introduced New Thing's Movement System into DCN. Coming in the near future is a digital accelerator for existing digital ministries to up their ministry game, trainings on multiplying digital/metaverse missionaries, even soul care and mental health in the metaverse as well as an expansion of church planting networks within the metaverse. They plan on seeing over 1,000 people join their community by the end of the year. Listen to Episode 26 of the podcast and access the show notes below. Future Church Insights: 1. How digital churches can connect with physical churches. With digital churches, people are able to connect with different types of people in these communities than what the physical church buildings are reaching. The way that the Digital Church Network operates is not in competition but rather it's complimenting what the physical church is doing in hopes of finishing the Great Commission that God has called us to. The anonymity of these communities allows new people to come and share their struggles without the fear of being outed or exposed. 2. The difference in challenges between the digital church and the physical church. When it comes to physical church, often getting people to attend your service is the hard part. With digital church, it's completely backwards. However, because of social pressure, in person church attendees usually stay for the whole service because they don't want to be perceived as rude whereas in the digital church, leaving is as easy as clicking a button. So, with the digital church, the sermon is not the most important thing, but rather how you uniquely connect with those who choose to attend. 3. The key to evangelizing in the digital space. Don't make statements. It's much better to use question marks than periods and never use an exclamation mark. It's important that we try build relationships with people that are in digital community. These rules also apply to your physical church that's doing digital ministry. You don't want to yell at people, and you don't even want to tell people what to believe right off the bat, but rather you want to learn from people. This is where you build relational equity and trust. This is where you build that a deeper friendship and overall relationship. Goals and Desired Outcomes of the Digital Church Network: By EOY 2023 – 10 movement leaders in digital & metaverse spaces By EOY 2023 – 250 Network Leaders By EOY 2023 – 5000 people in FAM – DCN's Online Community 30 Nations Involved 1,000 people involved in Movement System (DCN's Discipleship Process) Links: https://digitalchurch.network/ Key Quotes from the episode from Jeff Reed: “When disciples make disciples, and those go and do the same, a movement is catalyzed. The problem is many churches are filled with seedless grapes: there is fruit, but that fruit isn't reproducing.” “Often movements are blocked because leaders aren't reproducing more leaders; they simply do kingdom work without equipping others to lead as well.” “The church doesn't have a mission—the mission has a church.” “These digital environments and meta worlds are in fact communities where peo...

We are seeing God move in these spaces in ways that we can see anywhere else, and different types of leaders thrive in these areas more than others. Our special guest, Jeff Reed, founder of THECHURCH.DIGITAL & DigitalChurch.Network, joins the podcast to share how we can find value in using online tools to mobilize, motivate and equip people to share their Jesus stories in digital communities! DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT WILL HELP US REACH DIFFERENT PEOPLE. Fortunately, God has equipped us with imagination, allowing us an opportunity to come up with different, creative ideas to connect with people. And, as a result of COVID, there is probably no better time in human history for imaginative ideas than right now. THIS IS THE HEART BEHIND MISSIONAL IMAGINATION. How can these ideas be used for kingdom purposes? How can we network or collaborate with others to make this Missional Imagination a reality? Let's dig into this Missional Imagination conversation with Patrick O'Connell, Global Director of NewThing Network. NewThing specializes in collaboration, and the idea of unique expressions of church (physically and digitally) is right up their alley. The idea of Missional Imagination is the front door to NewThing's Movement System, which is crucial to NewThing's (and DCN's) desire to start organic disciple-making movements! SO WHAT'S YOUR IDEA? DIGITAL CHURCHES ARE REACHING PEOPLE WITH HEALTH ISSUES We talk about how Digital Churches reach different types of people. This week we're talking about Painted Prayers, a creative, digital expression of church that's found a way to reach a different type of person. Brianna Heida planted Painted Prayers to reach creative people. As an artist, Brianna was woven many creative aspects into her church as well as the church's creative process. A year or so into the church, the experiment of Painted Prayers has gone far to connect with a creative audience. Through her ministry life, though, Brianna discovered that she personally had a number of health issues that drastically limited her ability to do ministry physically. While this led to her desire to do ministry digitally, her health limitations actually allowed her to connect with others that also have physical ailments that prevent them from connecting with physical churches. DIGITAL CHURCHES EMPOWER LEADERS TO LEAD MINISTRY DIGITALLY THAT MAY NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD IN PHYSICAL SPACES. It's one thing for Brianna to be empowered in ministry, in spite of her medical issues, reaching people digitally via Painted Prayers. It's another thing to work to empower people with medical issues with spiritual purpose, helping them have a voice in ministry… allowing them to disciple others… this is the beauty of a Digital Church. Not just to reach a different type of person, but to empower a different type of leader and multiply these differences out. So jump on the podcast where Brianna Heida and Jeff talk about the opportunities of Digital Church reach people with medical issues, but also the spiritual discipline to operate not in our strengths, but in our weaknesses. ABOUT BRIANNA HEIDA Brianna is a disabled artist, writer, and pastor, and her latest adventure is planting a fully digital church, Painted Prayers Church. Her heart is to reach the physically, emotionally, and spiritually disconnected, those who live in the margins and find themselves often overlooked or forgotten. She can be found on all the socials @briheida, and you can learn more about her church at http://paintedprayers.org. What Could Digital Missionaries Look Like for your Church? We're talking digital missionary today, with my friend. I love hanging out with my friend Tyler Sansom. You know, we rarely ever see each other physically. I think we've only been together two, maybe three times in our lifetime. But an encouraging text, a well-timed email, or a Spirit-led Facebook Message is always good to lift my spirits. I'm proud of my friend Tyler, who just transitioned to become Lead Pastor of First Capital Christian Church, up in Corydon, IN. Tyler's no stranger to the podcast, He's been on the show more than anyone (sorry Jay Kranda!), and today we're talking Digital Missionaries. First Capital/Church Anywhere has been experimenting with the idea of digital missionaries, but their approach has been more bent towards Influencers, and it's been bringing some fascinating results. Tyler & Jeff Answer Your Digital Missionary Questions What can Digital Missionaries do for a Digital Ministry or Digital Church? Is the Influencer approach effective? What's a good place to start? Let's dig in as Tyler Sansom and I discuss the Influencer as a Digital Missionary. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thechurchdigital/message

Message to All Nations is building and piloting a ‘Digital Church' that serves regions that are not able to have organized church. Follow along as I interview Dr. Wagdy about the state of the post covid church in the middle east and the incredible opportunity to pivot towards Digital and Hybrid local church expressions. He and his team have successfully developed and modeled not only the technical side of Digital Church but also crafted a system for follow up and church planting among those who respond to Christ due to faith based media. We discuss the opportunities and challenges missional entrepreneurs and job seekers face in working in the middle east. Also, we explore the incredible opportunities opened up by technology that allows Believers from the west to use their vocations missionally without even leaving their house!! You will be incredibly encouraged and inspired by Dr. Wagdy's journey and the emergence of Digital Church. The Kingdom of God continues to expand through creativity and co-laboring with Christ. Highlights Include: The urgency of subduing the digital airspace of creation Incredibly successful Digital Church launch How they began their ministry as Medical Practitioners who were not interested in media ministry, and are now providing programing on over a dozen satellites and millions of viewers!
If you want to stay relevant, the future of your church is hybrid. Hosts Tim Lucas and Lauren Bercarich explore 3 key ways to get your church's digital properties and strategies in shape to set your ministry up for success. Hack #1: Host a blog on your website and reverse engineer your content: A blog is a great tool for SEO and bringing new people to your website. The trick is to create a blog focused on what people want to read about, not what you want to talk about. Compelling blog content can drive new visitors to your website. Learn how to create content people are searching for! Hack #2: Start advertising on Google for FREE: When we talk about promotion, marketing, or advertising, the common hurdle most churches face is their budget. That's why “free” is so valuable! Learn about Google Ad Grants specifically for nonprofits, which could result in $120,000 of free advertising for your church each year! Hack #3: Rename your videos on YouTube: Most churches already have a YouTube page, but they're not putting their best foot forward or following best practices. One of the most important things you can do is write your YouTube titles and descriptions in a way that's designed for search... after all, YouTube is actually the second largest search engine in the world. We'll tell you how! If you're a church leader looking for practical advice and real tools to help you get your job done and reach more people for Christ, Church Changer is for you. Join co-hosts Tim Lucas (Lead Pastor, Liquid Church) and Lauren Bercarich (Digital Director, Liquid Church) as they interview special guests, spotlight awesome churches, and share proven strategies in an easy-to-understand and approachable manner, so you can put them into practice at your church. We're sitting on a hinge point in history and the way we “do church” has forever changed. Together, let's push past organizational pain points and rip the lid off your leadership! New episode drops the first Tuesday of every month. For Leader Guides and to learn more about the Church Changer Network, go to ChurchChanger.com. Tim Lucas: Tim loves cheerleading for and collaborating with other churches! As the founding and Lead Pastor at Liquid Church in NJ, Tim is happy to share his learnings (the wins and misses) so others can increase their impact. Lauren Bercarich: Lauren's roots are in journalism and her heart (and current day job) are in ministry as the Digital Director at Liquid Church! She loves telling good stories and equipping other churches with practical tools that reap real rewards. We'd love to hear from you! Season 3 is going strong, as we continue to feature the Humble Disruptors of Digital and Meta Churches. To kick it off, we're talking with two lead pastors of Digital Churches... The US church has lost 25% of attenders over the past 20 years. Many churches are reporting 50-60% pre-COVID attendance is back in the building. 43% of active church attenders do not strongly trust their church leaders. We are seeing a movement in the US, a movement of de-churched people. Let's talk about it. Who are these de-churched people? Are there common characteristics or traits to consider? Why did they leave? What are they looking for? And maybe how can our churches utilize digital to re-engage them. We're bringing in Dr. John Harris, Lead Pastor of Hearts Like His Church (a Digital Church), and surprise guest Jared Hughes, Lead Pastor of Hope City Church (also a Digital Church) in a conversation about recognizing and reaching the De-Churched. Get to know Abundant Life Church's Online Campus Pastor Kyle Worsham. He is married to his bride Sarah, and has moved from Houston Texas, to the north west, to San Antonio, to Missouri where they now reside. What does an Online Campus Pastor do? Their goal is to get the congregation engaged in the church service, via the internet. Whether that be in your own home on a Sunday morning or at a nearby friend's house, gathering for church on a screen, together. It's key to remember that we are the church, and talking to people and getting to know their stories is the first step in sharing the gospel. Watching online, you get the opportunity to send a message and chat about the service as it's going on, which helps with our engagement and comprehension. It also allows you to ask questions and share your own story in the “story room” online. Kyle says the gospel fits into everyone's story! Jesus is there for the weak, weary, lonely, and downcast. Everyone has a story, and everyone is in need of Jesus' saving grace. Contact Pastor Kyle at: kyle.worsham@livingproof.co livingproof.co/online
