In today's Daily Fix:The Walking Dead TV series had an impressive run with 11 seasons and more than 170 episodes. But even after that, plus six spin-off shows, executive producer Scott Gimple thinks there's still plenty of story to tell. Taking a cue from the France-set Daryl Dixon spin-off, the cast's core characters could find themselves all over the globe, with Gimple saying it could provide for 15 more years' worth of stories. In other news, Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best is returning to the character in a one-shot comic. Star Wars: Jar Jar Binks will be co-written by Best, and will feature the character playing a pivotal role in the rebellion after Revenge of the Sith. And we've got a look at the thrills you can experience in The Isle of Berk at Universal Epic Universe.Presented by Universal Orlando Resort and its new theme park, Universal Epic Universe.

Too Much is very much the phrase of the week on this episode as not only do we have four guests — specifically Karen Pirie's Lauren Lyle and Emer Kenny (50:50-1:04:40) and The Walking Dead: Dead City's Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Scott Gimple (22:53-32:36)— but we also review four shows — specifically Too Much on Netflix (1:04:40), The Institute on MGM+ (1:30:28), Bookish on U&Alibi (1:22:06) and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount+ (1:40:35). So if you had plans today, you might want to reschedule. Oh and we (somehow) find the time for a trip down memory lane discussing iconic TV ads as well. Strap in!(Episode 345)Note: time stamps are approximate as the ads throw them out, so are only meant as a guide. Happy Friday! Our coverage of The Ones Who Live continues this week with our discussion of Episode 5, "Become." We enjoyed the episode and were SHOCKED, but delighted by the return of Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) to the TWD universe. We share all of our favorite moments from Richonne's second honeymoon episode - including the big proposal at the end. Candi very graciously fills in a few background gaps for me on the past relationship between Gabriel and Ann/Jadis. And of course we talk about Jadis's final character run and whether or not we understood all of her choices. We close with our wishlist for the finale. In sum, we want cinnamon roll sweetness and will not be here for any bittersweet endings. This is a love story and we want a happy ending for this beloved couple. And a reunion!Support the showFollow the pod on IG, Twitter, and Tumblr.Send longer feedback to morewinepod@gmail.com.Find our full catalog of past episodes at morewinepod.buzzsprout.com.

Scott Gimple was the showrunner for five seasons of “The Walking Dead” before becoming chief content officer for the entire franchise. And in that time, the series has become a content universe, with a spinoff series, video games and both a movie and another spinoff in the works. Kai Ryssdal interviewed Gimple in his Burbank office, not too far from a life-sized statue of Han Solo frozen in carbonite. They talked horror what it’s like to direct the storyline for an entire franchise. And Gimple made a passionate pitch for Ryssdal to give the series a shot.

Talking Through Close Your Eyes On this episode of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, we discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 10, which is titled Close Your Eyes. It was written by co-executive producer Shintaro Shimosawa and directed by co-executive producer Michael E. Satrazemis. This was a bottle episode, but a good one. It only featured two characters: Alicia and Charlie. Charlie became somewhat less annoying this episode, and Alycia Debnam-Carey got to shine with this episode. Compared to last week, this was definitely a better episode, but, for me, it wasn’t outstanding. Though the acting was spot on, some of the dialog and scenes were a bit too on the nose. While the hurricane was definitely more believable this time around, there was one plot twist that I found a bit of a stretch. Ratings are down… Close Your Eyes got a 0.63 in the 18-49 with 1.855 million viewers, which is down from last week‘s 0.68 and 1.878 million viewers. Charts below. That’s it for Close Your Eyes! Talking Through People Like Us We are back! Fear the Walking Dead Through is back with an analysis of Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 9, which is titled People Like Us. It was written by supervising producer Anna Fishko and directed by Magnus Martens. The story of the mid-season premiere, itself, was decent. The special effects, on the other hand, were among the worst we have seen in the franchise. Of course, we were warned, but there’s nothing like the actual episode to bring out more detail. Ratings were down… People Like Us got a 0.68 in the 18-49 demographic, with 1.878 million viewers, which is down from the mid-season finale‘s 0.73 and 2.320 million viewers. Charts below. This week on Fear The Walking Dead we revisit Madison and her family since the dam explosion in Season 3. There seems to be a pretty strong outcry from the fan community regarding this time jump, and a general disappointment in the plotting of this season already. Most of the resentment seems to be geared towards Scott Gimple and his involvement with the show. However, Jon and I aren't necessarily feeling the hate quite yet. The show has us intrigued enough to keep us invested, even when we are seeing small bits of The Walking Dead's primary problems bleeding into Fear. We're just hoping and praying that Fear keeps it together. Please enjoy this episode of the Fear The Walking Dead Podcast by Fandom Found!
