While Kim Grinolds was en route to SHI Stadium in New Brunswick, New Jersey, the guys from Dawgman.com - Scott Eklund and Chris Fetters - got up early on the west coast to put together their thoughts before tonight's game between Washington and Rutgers, the only other Friday night prime time game besides Virginia Tech at Miami. Before getting to tonight's game, Scott and Chris finished up their thoughts on Washington's 24-5 win over Northwestern and the takeaways that should flow right into things they expect to see in New Jersey. Then they go in to their game preview, starting first with the matchup of Washington's offense versus Rutgers' defense. Does Washington have what it takes to ball control and keep the Scarlet Knights' own offense on the sidelines? Does Washington have what's going to take up front to be able to match what the home team is likely to throw at them? After a quick break Scott turns the tables with discussion about Rutgers offense versus Washington's defense. With the Scarlet Knights so good on the ground, can Steve Belichick clamp down Kyle Monangai and turn Rutgers into a one-dimensional attack? Will Washington have enough on the back end to add numbers to the box to get after Minnesota transfer quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis? Scott and Chris give their x-factors - one UW player on each side of the ball - that could very well spell the difference between a Washington win and loss, and needless to say the players picked were along the offensive and defensive lines. And before Scott offers a quick recruiting update on what to expect during Washington's next home game versus Michigan, a redux of the 2024 National Championship Game, the guys also give their thoughts on special teams and how big a factor could they play tonight? If Washington needs a kick to win, how confident are the guys that Grady Gross can get it done? And how confident are they that UW can shore up their cover game to eliminate big returns and plays that could flip field position and give the home team a chance to win late? One thing is for sure; going across the country on a short week to play in a sold out 'black out' game is going to be tough enough for Washington even if they execute the way they want to. The Stadium Heads, Michael Barker aka CFB Campus Tour (@CFBCampusTour) & Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) are back with their 2nd episode as the guys break down all 18 Big Ten Stadiums from their rich history to the recent stadium improvements. Did the Big Ten really improve their stadiums with the 4 recent Pac 12 additions? What makes a great football stadium and why does College Football keep its soul as compared to the NFL? Did the Northwestern Wildcats make a mistake by moving on from Ryan Field? Will more college football stadiums move to name their stadiums as corporate sponsors? Is the Rose Bowl the greatest football stadium in America? When will the Ohio State Buckeyes and other Big Ten Stadiums move back to grass as opposed to turf? What do we make of the newer Big Ten Stadiums like Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis or SHI Stadium in Piscataway? Should Maryland's stadium always be referred to as Byrd Stadium? Is Fielding Yost a genius to think that Michigan should be the biggest stadium way back in 1925? Does sailgating make the stadium experience that much better at Husky Stadium? Is the L.A. Coliseum one of the most underrated stadiums in America and did the Los Angeles Rams make a mistake by leaving it for So Fi Stadium? Has the Purdue Boilermakers done everything right in improving Ross-Ade Stadium? What do we make of the three Memorial Stadiums in the Conference? This week, the Roundtable recapped Rutgers women's basketball's performance in this year's Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament. In Minnesota, the Scarlet Knights downed Northwestern in round one, but fell short in round two against the Illinois Fighting Illini. As Rutgers won six Big Ten games all season long, this year's campaign has mostly likely come to a close. Our hosts: Alex Carmenaty and Christian Vazquez break down all the numbers from the entire season, as well as the postseason stats standouts like Kaylene Smikle, Chyna Cornwell, Awa Sidibe and many others put up during the run.Christian Vazquez later on recapped Rutgers Wrestling's performance in the Big Ten Wrestling Tournament this past weekend out in Michigan. Vazquez talked one on one with WRSU FM New Brunswick Wrestling Analyst Max Sanchez. As Sanchez was in Michigan for the tournament, he dove into the top performances from individual wrestlers on the team, as well as how the entire program competed in this stage of the postseason. Rutgers Wrestling now moves onto the National Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which will happen from March 16-18.Alex Carmenaty to end the show chatted with Rutgers men's lacrosse attackman Brian Cameron. A fifth-year senior with 17 goals and 24 points in the first six games of the season, Cameron has been standing out for a team that has won three straight games at home against the likes of Loyola Maryland, St. John's and Utah. Cameron and company play in-state rival Princeton this weekend at SHI Stadium, where Brian will face off against his younger brother Sean for potentially the last time in the sport of lacrosse. The Scarlet Knights look to win four-straight against a team Rutgers lost to last season by five goals.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

1 hour and 59 minutes The Sponsors Thank you to Underground Printing for making this all possible. Rishi and Ryan have been our biggest supporters from the beginning. Our associate sponsors are: Peak Wealth Management, HomeSure Lending, Ann Arbor Elder Law, Michigan Law Grad, Human Element, The Phil Klein Insurance Group, Venue by 4M where we recorded this, TicketIQ! and The Nose Bleeds, which is the Sklars Bros' reboot of Cheap Seats on UFC Fight Pass. 1. Offense vs Rutgers starts at 1:00 Was Michigan sick during this game? "The loud Rutgers fans" is an uttered phrase. JJ completed less than half of his passes, some of them were drops but some were bad throws. Why isn't Michigan throwing more fades? Michigan threw contested throws in this game and Michigan completed almost none of them, but we know how good everyone is at this point. It seemed uncharacteristic so maybe it's a non-issue moving forward. Good game for younger guys to get quality play time in the 2nd half. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards had some nice runs but there were some hiccups along the way. Rutgers' defense is on the aggressive side. Was part of Michigan's gameplan to just keep it safe and not take Rutgers too seriously? Khalid Hill approves of the FB dive. Donovan Edwards maximized his blocking opportunities in this game, this may have been his best game so far at Michigan. Jeffrey Persi wasn't noticed, which is good! [The rest of the writeup and the player after THE JUMP] 2. Defense vs Rutgers starts at 38:50 Rutgers did basically what Michigan State did - hit a couple deep passes and otherwise mostly went three and out. According to Seth, SHI Stadium turned off the rushing yard total on the scoreboard. Not a ton to say - Taylor Upshaw had a really nice game. Rutgers only had 49 snaps on offense. Cam Goode had a sack! David brings back the Chonky Talk. Gavin Wimsatt has a good arm but very little accuracy... doesn't seem like he can be the guy moving forward. Michigan's defense is 4th in SP+ which is opponent-adjusted. We have not seen opponents get chunk run plays due to poor linebacker play in a few weeks, Barrett seems to be adapting as a natural linebacker more and more. Jenkins snuffed out a shovel pass, something they got burned on earlier in the year. 3. Hot Takes, Defense, and Game Theory starts at 1:03:13 Takes hotter than the lights that were going all flashy and was like oh we're in the club because they scored a touchdown. SETH SINGS AT 1:03:57 JUST WARNING YOU. Viva La Revolution. Special teams were a disaster for the first time in years. That might've been the first punt block of Brad Robbins' career? There is a... uh... theory about Rutgers. What is up with Adam Korsak?? He got hit on a run but there wasn't a flag at least. Congratulations Big Ten Punters, you have made Brian angry. Brian and David set up the perfect punt-for-a-touchdown play. End-of-half clock management discussion 4. Around the Big Ten With Jamie Mac starts at 1:30:12 Please do not actually kidnap Chef Thad. All Big Ten scores must be contextualized with the wind (30-40 mph) across the midwest rendering all passing essentially useless. Northwestern actually outgains Ohio State by two yards. Did Ohio State use plays that were reserved for the Michigan game? We hate everything about Pat Fitzgerald's offense. Ohio State fans who think college football should be in controlled environmental stadiums are SAWFT. This game was dead even in the trenches. Ohio State's offensive line isn't bad but... they might not be good? Ohio State is averaging 1.9 points per possession on drives that start in their own territory over the last three games. Illinois was 1 of 6 on 4th down against Michigan State. They had plenty of chances to get more points and just couldn't. This opens up the Big Ten West and now there are scenarios where Iowa or Wisconsin could actually win the West. Nebraska takes a 10-0 lead and then Minnesota takes over the rest of the game. Nebraska's quarterbacks are named... Chubba and Purdy. The Nebraska offensive line PFF grades are horrendous. Iowa and Wisconsin win their games because they're the better rushing teams. Take the pass game out of Maryland and they can't win football games. If Iowa made it back to Indy, who would be more upset? Iowa fans or non-Iowa fans?
