Perpignan Burning és una idea germinada a finals del 2023. L'objectiu era d'agrupar en un mateix projecte/objecte alguns dels grups de rock (encara vius!) més destacables de Catalunya Nord i en particular de Perpinyà.  Aquesta compilació doble en vinil, editada pels segells discogràfics Cougouyou Music i Staubgold, està disponible en la botiga Cougouyou Music (15 carrer de la Campana d'Or a Perpinyà) i sobre les plataformes de música. Fondé à Cologne à la fin des années 90, puis basé à Berlin de 2003 à 2011, avant de poser ses valises à Perpignan, Staubgold est un label ayant pour philosophie « Music out of place » explorant au départ les musiques electroniques, minimal, ambient, krautrock, et comptant dans son catalogue plus de 150 réfèrences, et des noms comme The Flying Lizards, David Cunningham, Faust, ou To Rococo Rot, le label s'est ensuite ouvert à un large éventail de styles et de genres derrière lesquels se cache la sensibilité d'un homme, Markus Detmer.  Arrivé dans la capitale des P-O, il créa Cougouyou Music, sous label de Staubgold réservé aux disques d'artistes catalans, et il y ouvrit en 2014 un disquaire du même nom.  Vous allez entendre dans cet épisode ma rencontre avec ce mélomane éclairé dans sa boutique, une visite qui coïncidait avec la sortie de la dernière compilation qui l'a mise sur pied: Back from the Canigó Volume Two - Country Punks & City Rockers Perpignan  1999-2010 Un double lp illustré par monsieur Pascal Comelade  star catalane internationale proche du label, au même titre que Les Limiñanas, mais la Catalogne du nord renferme bien d'autres talents à découvrir d'urgence.  

Solénoïde (06.09.2021) - Sur leur 10e album, "Désarroi", les allemands du KAMMERFLIMMER KOLLEKTIEF nous plongeront dans une étrange saga sonore mêlant culture "free", esprit psychédélique et racines krautrock... Une partition inspirée à la croisée des visions hallucinées d'Ummaguma de Pink Floyd et de certains thèmes filmiques de Ry Cooder. Le duo cosmopolite ALCALICA (Berlin/Grèce) nous gratifiera ensuite de séduisantes contorsions musicales pouvant associer poésie antique et audace urbaine. Puis, c'est une invitation envoyée de Suède, aux frontières de l'electronica et de la pop avant-gardiste, qui nous attendra. A pas de loup, le duo féminin MIDAIRCONDO nous fera ainsi avancer à la jonction des mondes de Björk, Biosphere et Spunk. Et enfin, le trio autrichien (clavier, basse, batterie) RADIAN s'efforcera de bousculer nos repères musicaux usuels, pour délivrer un post-rock à nette coloration électronique.

About: Philippe Petit is an artist that fashions his musical works to paint a musical tapestry similar to Lewis Carroll creating a wonderland where nothing is as it would seem. Philippe's goal is to take the listener on a 'magical mystery ride'. He places great importance on movement and gesture in composition, and by recording his modular systems in a single, take he keeps sessions spontaneous and visceral! Philippe primarily works with the Buchla Easel K, Synthi A and GRP A4 as an ensemble, and processes them with GRM Tools, Guitar amps & pedals. This demands a ton of preparation, but the results are with it. Philippe has performed across the world, playing festivals all over Europe, North America, Asia, Mexico, and Australia. He has recorded with such artists as Lydia Lunch, Murcof, The European Contemporary Orchestra (E.C.O.), Mark Cunningham (MARS), Cindytalk, Orkest De Ereprijs,  Audrey Chen, Mia Zabelka, Iancu Dumitrescu's Hyperion Ensemble, Stephen O'Malley, Yannick Barman, PAS/Faust. In addition, Philippe has recorded for labels such Aagoo, Southern UK, Monotype, Bölt, Alrealon Musique, Beta Lactam Ring, Sub Rosa, HomeNormal, Important, HelloSquare, Public Eyesore, Utech, Staubgold, and more.

Muslimgauze - Low On Qat Bryn Jones aka Muslimgauze produced something like 90 albums between 1982 and 1998, before dying for a rare blood disease. All his music was inspired by the Muslim world, in particular the Palestinian conflict and was released on limited editions cassettes "Low on Qat" is from the album Tandoori Dog. 9. Copeland - Fit Formerly 50% of Hype Williams together with Dean Blunt, Inga Copeland self released the album "Because I'm Worth It" came out in May this year. 10. Young Man - Wandering I don't know much about Colin Caulfield and his project as "Young Man". ABSTRAXION - Vampyros Lesbos Abstraxion is the project of French cool kid Harold Boué who does innovating electronica and counts support from the likes of Erol Alkan, Simian Mobile Disco, James Holden and Caribou.
