Cooper and Nolan are looking on up at the bottom this week, as they go BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS! Free love is flowing in this hippie-era tale of temptation thanks to infamous exploitation director Russ Meyer, and the guys are going along for the ride. And what a ride it is! One featuring sex, drugs, Superwoman, and the music of Strawberry Alarm Clock. Not to mention a bunch of over the top performances, and the most laughably intense overlays you'll ever see... or hear about. Bottom line? It's a happening, and it just might freak you out; this episode (featuring a beer from Farm League Brewing) goes beyond anything you could have expected.

Sorry for the delay I did have this all recorded and ready to go but the 1st part for some reason doesn't want to finish processing. So if the sound between the recordings is slightly off its because there's a 12 hour difference and a location change. We are 7 episodes in and I still have no clue who killed Sazz. Is it the same person who has been watching our trio since the beginning. Or is it two different people, or two people ramping up since they didn't solve it the 1st time? Who knows, we have 3 more episodes to maybe (I know I won't till they show me) till they tell us hopefully who killed Sazz.       We are coming up on 100 episodes and can't think of something fun to do, if you have any suggestions leave a comment on insta @something.about.podcast Thank you so much for listening, please rate/like/review where ever it is you stream podcasts.

Welcome to Hit Rewind! In this episode, Michael and Kersey take a trip back to 1968 to explore how cinema began pushing boundaries. The year saw the emergence of the R and X ratings, reflecting a shift towards more mature themes. First on the list is Valley of the Dolls, a melodrama about three women navigating the dark side of Hollywood. Despite its reputation for being trashy, it's a fascinating look at the industry's underbelly, with standout performances, especially from Patty Duke. The conversation then shifts to Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, a wild, bizarre follow-up that blends comedy, musical acts, and surrealism. Directed by Russ Meyer and co-written by Roger Ebert, this film is a cult classic that defies conventional storytelling. Next up is Midnight Cowboy, a groundbreaking film that delves into the gritty life of a wannabe male prostitute in New York City. With stellar performances by Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman, this movie is a masterpiece that stands the test of time. Finally, they discuss The Wild Bunch, a film that redefined action and Western genres with its raw, unfiltered portrayal of violence and camaraderie. Directed by Sam Peckinpah, it's a gritty tale of outlaws facing the end of their era. Join us as we explore these iconic films and their impact on the world of cinema. Enjoy the journey through the transformative year of 1968!

Later a group dinner turns into a bonafide brawl as Doute, Luke, Michelle and Jesse go at it once again; Doute reveals Michelle's big secret she's been "protecting" for so long.Buy tickets to the SUP SUMMER 2024 TOUR!Listen to this episode ad-free AND get access to weekly bonus episodes + video episodes by joining the SUP PATREON.Be cheap as hell and get full-length videos of the pod for free by subscribing to the SUP YOUTUBE.Relive the best moments of this iconic podcast by following the SUP TIKOK. Heat waves and little tree shade. Emotional stagnancy. Low to non-existent impulse control. And that's just Doute. From what are you doing with these people?! you're sane and lolers energy of Janet and Jason, to the you're too sensitive and wholesome to be on a show like this vibe of Daniel and Nia, to the your marriage's days are already numbered future of Michelle and Jesse to the glorious honky tonk Hetero Hell of Jax and Brittany, and the haunting trajectory of Kristen and her new Colorado man/potential baby daddy Luke, it's one big hurricane. Plus, two potential stars in Gay Zack and SUR Jasmine. “The starting point is, and the research questions are all framed by: 'We know it's terrible to be fat, but how terrible is it?' Not: 'What would it take to give effective healthcare to fat people?'” says Aubrey Gordon, writer of the new book You Just need to Lose Weight and 19 Other Myths About Fat People, star of the documentary Your Fat Friend, and podcaster of Maintenance Phase. And it's not just healthcare where the alignment of 'fat' with 'unhealthy' - and 'thinner' with 'healthier' - becomes problematic and often very dangerous. "I really don't think people contend with the ways in which they are sending a message to everyone around them that there is a weight limit for people that they will love." Content note: this episode contains discussions of body size, body image, weight, anti-fatness, illness including cancer, diet culture, weight loss - intentional and un - and eating disorders. And there are some category A swears.  This is the second of two episodes about the word ‘fat'. In Fatlusionist part 1, Aubrey and I discuss euphemisms for fat, why people avoid saying ‘fat', what else people mean when they say ‘fat' and how it would be quite good if people said ‘fat' as just a descriptive term for ‘fat'.
