Logan Nester; Online Influencer, Certified Personal Trainer, Strength Coach, and Heart Attack Survivor. Today’s Episode Summary: Today’s guest, Logan Nester, is a 25 years old online influencer who is making lives better through his content and also generating a handsome amount of money from his influencing business. But 9 years ago, Logan was a real trouble maker. He was involved in many felonies - faced near-to-death experiences many times- and was also taking heavy drugs. Throughout his previous life, he did nothing other than doing dangerous and crazy things but now he has set boundaries for himself and has decided not to go that path ever again. Today Logan is sharing with us his life story so that listeners - particularly youngsters- could reap some useful lessons from his experiences. The story of Logon begins with his neglected childhood…. Logan was born in a family where both of his parents were drug addicts and they had no interest in their relationship but they were living together just for the sake of Logan. At the age of 6, Logan’s parents finally got divorced and Logan started living with his mother for some time and then shifted back to his father’s home. He kept switching between his mother’s and father’s home but his parents were busy doing their own thing and they were not really involved in the upbringing of Logan. However, Logan worked along with his father and learned many things from him. When he grew up he became involved in many negative things and became a real trouble maker. During his teenage, he was sexually abused by his cousin. At the age of 14, he appeared in court due to a harassment charge, and he also started doing heavy cocaine and heroin and started smoking weed also. After some time, Logan had no more money so he started robbing people every night to buy more dosages of drugs. He was also hanging out with people who were either drug addicts or dealing with drugs. He was a sincere friend but his friends robbed him several times and broke his trust and that’s why he carved the tattoo “Stay True” on his body. He was also messing with dangerous people and faced near to death experiences many times. And that’s not it. The list of his troubles goes on… While going through the dangerous track of drugs and robbery, Logan got arrested after long hide-and-seek, but the court saw huge potential in Logan and gave him a second chance to improve his life, and sent him to a habilitation center. Logan's troubles didn't stop here. He also did some troubles during his rehab program –like sneaking out of rehab- but he graduated successfully in the end. After coming out of the rehab Logan started doing a job. At the age of 23, Logan got involved in a serious relationship with a 44 years old woman, who was his construction site manager, but after 1 year, he broke up with her. Then he started recreating his life by abandoning his old life. He started bodybuilding and then started his online influencing business during Covid. Recently, in January 2021, Logan had a severe heart attack which changed the course of his life and career and set him on the path to reinvent and rediscover himself. Now Logan cannot do a lot of things he used to do to build his body but Logan is very hopeful about life and says that “it's not a life-ending experience; it's just a different route that I have to take now. I am hoping it's going to be better”. Logan is training and influencing youngsters. He is growing every day to become more and influencing people positively. He says that he spent his life doing things that he shouldn’t be doing but now he is trying his best to spread positivity. He wants people to learn from his experience and avoid the mistakes which he did in his life. To know detailed trouble stories of Logan, listen to this podcast and reap your own lessons out of it. The One Life Radio team had a stressful weekend with a COVID-19 scare, but One Life Radio still recommends wearing a mask! Check out this cool video here on wearing masks! Mindfulness With Autumn Resident Earth Mama, and Holistic One Life Radio expert Autumn Warren Connolly is back again with yet another mindful mantra to help us in these stressful times! Mindfulness is oh so very important! Autumn teaches us that mindfulness something we can do all day long via self control! In order to have a great day, we have to check in with ourselves throughout the day and do self assessments of our stress levels. Autumn stresses that thoughts and feelings are not facts as much as our brains want us to think the opposite! The breath of life is in us! Remember to take that breath! Beauty Labels With Logan Logan Shiels is here as our resident beauty guru and expert! Logan is the co-founder of Dallas’ premier luxurious shop for Italian men’s clothing, Uncommon Man, and a stylist at Era Salon! Today Logan gives us the tell all about how to find the best beauty products despite cutesy packaging that lures you in! Expensive isn’t always better! Beauty products at places like Neiman Marcus are not indicative of the products true ingredients! Always read your labels and look for paraben free products! Check out the app store for product ingredient reading help. Logan’s big tip is that anti-aging labels are a hoax. What really keeps skin looking fresh is vitamin C and Retinol! The most important product for anti-aging is… you guessed it… Sunscreen! Remember, the long fancy words on tables doesn’t always mean harsh chemicals… lots of natural ingredients have scary names, don’t be afraid! Have you ever wanted something so bad, that the thought of not getting it made you want to kill yourself? Logan Nelson wanted to be an actor, and did everything within his power to make his dream come true. He went to college and studied his craft. He prioritized going to auditions over his work commitments, and spent hours memorizing lines that many people could have memorized in far less time. Then one day Logan realized there was a good chance life was not going to give him what he wanted. He started thinking about all the sacrifices he’d made in pursuit of his dream. With the goal of being an actor seemingly beyond his reach, Logan walked to the top of a 3-story parking garage and jumped. His first thought when he realized that somehow he had not broken his neck, was to think that there must be a better way to end things. Today Logan is a much loved Podcast Host and LinkedIn Video Creator. His willingness to open up about his own struggles, past and current, resonates with people of all ages and all walks of life. He may not see it, but the skills Logan developed as an actor are on full display in his videos and on his podcast. Viewers and listeners can feel his pain, his honesty, and his underlying optimism (although at times he goes to great lengths to hide it). Logan Nelson has a special gift and the world is a better place because of it. This is a thought provoking episode which will cause many of us to reflect on the goals we’re chasing and reflect upon our own special gifts. So this is another Mini- sode that I hold super close to my heart. But before I get into I want to remind you that if you’ve ever gotten yourself into trouble by not joining the Facebook group- Scratch Your Own Itch: Creating a life worth living- you totally should. It’s free. It’s for those who have deep curiosity about starting a podcast/ YouTube channel and go from idea to idea without actually taking any action or once they do they do really well for a week or two and then fall prey to doing it once in a while. But I need you to know that you NEED TO TELL YOUR story and your voice needs to be heard. So head over there. I’ll include the url in the shownotes and if you’re having trouble finding it- you can reach me at logan@logantylernelson.com But on with the show as planned. This one is..... SCRAEY. Ititled this show: Dare I say- Losing my mom made me who I am today. Which is honestly not easy to share. But sometimes there’s a difference between things that I want to be done vs things that NEEED to be done. And this is one of those things the I just NEED to talk about. It was the morning after I found out my Mom died…. I was 11 years old and I slept on the leather brown couch we had in the living room. I woke up and began to prepare myself for school that day. I asked my Pops why he wasn’t at work already since he’d usually leave for work before I did. He said “go back to sleep bud.” Confused and filled with curiosity I said “can you drive me to school?” Usually I hated going to school but I felt different that day. That day I wanted to escape from my house; because in this house; well this was the house where my Mom had died. She was only 39 and she died right under this roof that I called home. It just didn’t feel right being there. With apprehension I went back to sleep. It wasn’t to hard going to sleep because sleep was my medicine. It was my only aide in being able to escape from the firm reality that now my Mom was gone. I didn’t cry though for the rest of the day or the next day or the next day or the day after that. I remember feeling ashamed more then feeling sorrow. I felt shame because I made up excuses and lies in order to not visit my Mom in the hospital. Finally the day came…. it was the day of her wake and it took place at QueerHammer funeral homes. I always found the funeral home name to be quite odd because after all it had the word “queer” in it. That’s besides the point. The wake had started and there wasn’t a dry eye in the funeral home except for me. I felt fine. I felt completely fine. Until I walked with hesitation toward my Moms white marble casket and I saw her cold, frozen and lifeless face. Then the flood gates opened up and I began to wail. It was the thought of “I’m never ever going to talk to my Mom ever again” that made me cry for the next few hours. I couldn’t stop crying. I loved talking to my Mom. My Mom and I were very close and every question I had I went to my Mom with. It wasn’t fair that she was gone now. At least that’s what I believed. Losing my Mom created a spark inside of me that forced me to obsess over skills and to become the best I could at those skills. Snowboarding was my first obsession. I would go seven days a week. I would stay home sick from school and still manage to find myself at the park that night. I would stay home from school some days and still find myself with the energy to go to the snowboard park. Then it was Motocross and I was absolutely completely absorbed in that next. After the Snowboarding and Motocross it was fitness and eating healthy. I was obsessed with fitness magazines and trying to get bigger. I didn’t have the best genetics for muscle building but I worked very hard to try and build the best physique I could. I realize now that my life has been filled with obsessing over ideas. When I have a goal in mind I want nothing more then to achieve that goal. That’s why I’ve never worried about being with a girl. I’ve always found it to be secondary. By analyzing my Moms death and analyzing why I am the way I am today it makes sense. I don’t want to leave this world knowing I’ve done it half ass. I’m actually in love with failure because with every step of failure comes a little pebble of knowledge. I’m happier when I’m creating something that isn’t working rather then watching a movie. I’m happier when I’m writing because I know that someone else out their in the world now feels less alone. I’m happiest when I’ve been through something like talking to the Bill collectors or doing mundane tasks like laundry and cleaning because I know that I can listen to my favorite podcast and listen to some knowledge that I can spread out to the world. Finally, I’m happiest when I think about the relationship with my Mom. Even though she is gone right now she still lives inside my imagination and that’s why even when you’re dead; you’re not.
