Cyndi O'Meara, Happy Birthday Cyndi O'Meara is here for the full hour to discuss how to read labels properly. She is the Author of the best selling book "Changing Habits." We have an educational show today, so stick around! Cyndi O'Meara Cyndi is an internationally acclaimed nutritionist, author, and documentary maker. She is the founder of Changing Habits which is an educational health and nutrition business. Cyndi has authored and self-published ‘Changing Habits Changing Lives’ prior to creating the documentary What’s With Wheat? in 2016. What’s With Wheat? investigates how the modern agricultural practices of wheat growing has produced a product that is making people more susceptible to disease. Reading Labels with Cyndi O’Meara of Changing Habits Back in the early 90's, Cyndi was writing columns for an Australian newspaper. After trying to write about margarine, she was silenced and told she couldn't publish that article. Tenaciously, she kept on writing and telling the truth. Cyndi got picked up by Penguin Publishing Australia! Two books later, one recipe book, and one documentary later, she has a multi million dollar company. Cyndi just wants to enable everyone to make better choices so they too can enjoy greater health throughout their lives. Cyndi recently reached out to Rich Roll, founder of a popular egg substitute company. Rich Roll recently made a false claim about how much carbon dioxide chicken eggs produce. Cyndi, as a nutritionist, wanted to get to the bottom of it. She went through every single one of the ingredients on his egg substitute, and she found that 4 ingredients that are made synthetically. There were no whole foods! Cyndi O'Meara is committed to reading labels and making sure that the foods that we ingest are in their whole state. Going Organic and Colors Go organic. Find a health food store that you enjoy and trust, but remember it's not always a large chain store. Last year has really woken us up. Try and become an activist simply with your food purchases. It is as simple as that. Many synthetic colors can cause adverse effects. In Australia then number their artificial colors 1-300. Here, in the US, we only have a few. The most popular dye here in the US is red dye #40 which has been tied to hyperactivity in children. Multiple studies published in journals such as Pediatrics, The Lancet, and Journal of Pediatrics demonstrate that some children with ADD/ADHD may be adversely affected by artificial food dyes. Thank You! A big thank you to our guest Cyndi O’Meara! Check out Cydni’s website here to learn more about "Lab To Table" and how to eat whole, healthy foods. It's Workout Wednesday We have Drew Manning talking about his new project called Fit2Fat2Forty and check in at his halfway mark! Jill Lane is here to talk about The ABC's of vitamins and supplements. We have a great show for you today, so stick around. It's workout Wednesday! Drew Manning Drew did the original Fit2Fat2Fit journey back in 2011 gaining 75 lbs on purpose in 6 months! The biggest lesson Drew learned for sure was empathy for those that struggle and the importance of it in this industry! No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care first! Drew is mainly doing this to spread the message of EMPATHY this time. In four months, gained 62.4 lbs, 12.5” gained in my waist, 9.5” gained in my hips, and 17.8% body fat gained. Drew did this all in 4 months! Drew is at the halfway mark in his journey back to fitness. Back in 2011, social media wasn't what it was now. Drew has renamed his project Fit2Fat2Forty because back in 2011 he was 31, but now, at 40, his body has changed. This is why he switched to Fit2Fat2Forty! He is using the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting to lose the weight and get back to fit! Drew says we need to go into these physical transformations with our brain first. Our emotions play a big part in weight loss, so we have to deal with our emotions. See a therapist, life coach, or trusted person to take care of your brain first. Empathy is so important, so please open your heart to others. It makes a world of difference to someone who is trying to lose weight. Jill Lane Jill Lane is a Pro-Athlete Health and Nutrition Coach with over 20 years experience in the health and wellness industry. She is the creator of Fueling Champions®, a 3-step sports performance and athletic nutrition program built to maximize the potential of student athletes and the parents and schools who support them. The first step to supplementation is to know why you want to supplement, and what you want to target. Most people just go off of what someone tells us, or what they read in a magazine. The second step is to know how to read a label. Know the dosing, and the formula! It's often time the best process to work with someone who knows what to look for. The last step is to fill the gap. You have to stay true to what your body needs, and stay in your own bodies lane. Form of the vitamins matters 1000%. Jill would rather take a small dose of something that is good, than a large dose of something that is crappy. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests Drew Manning and Jill Lane! Happy Tuesday! Dr. Harold Katz is here to give us the lowdown on bad breath. Dr. Randall Bell is here to discuss how to survive and thrive after trauma. We have a fabulous show for you today, so please stick around! Dr. Harold Katz Dr. Harold Katz is widely recognized as the “final authority” on breath. He is the founder of The California Breath Clinics and the author of “The Bad Breath Bible”, the definitive guide to the causes and solutions to prevent bad breath and taste disorders. He’s been featured on Fox and Friends, FOX’s Mike & Juliet Show, Good Morning America, The View and countless others. Dr. Katz is a graduate of the UCLA School of Dentistry and holds a separate degree in Bacteriology, also from UCLA. Halitosis, commonly known as bad breath, is an embarrassing health condition that affects approximately 30% of people around the world. Additional medical terms for this condition include stomatodysodia, fetor oris, and ozostomia. Regardless of the term used, this is the presence of a foul-smelling odor that seems to come from the mouth cavity. Dry mouth is one of the leading causes of bad breath! whenever there is no saliva, bad breath comes forward. The foul oral odor is usually caused by a group of anaerobic, sulfur-producing bacteria that breed beneath the surface of the tongue and often in the throat and tonsil area. The term "anaerobic" literally means living without oxygen, and in fact, these bacteria do not require oxygen to live. Dr. Randall Bell As an economist, Dr. Randall Bell has consulted on more disasters on earth than anyone in history, and is widely considered the world’s top authority in the field of post-traumatic thriving. His cases include the World Trade Center, the Flight 93 Crash Site, the BP Oil Spill, Hurricane Katrina and tragedies such as Jon Benet Ramsey, OJ Simpson, and the Heaven’s Gate mass suicide. Often called the “Master of Disaster,” Dr. Bell is squarely focused on authentic recovery and resilience. His research has been profiled on major television shows and featured in numerous magazines and the international media. Dr. Bell believes that the major problem facing the world is unresolved trauma, especially childhood trauma. People try to self medicate with alcohol or drugs to deal with their unresolved traumas. Talk about your problems. Never stuff down the ugly stuff that may be embarrassing. From working with disasters all around the world, Dr. Katz really learned a lot about trauma. Childhood trauma is a leading cause in crime rates, addiction rates, and more. We have to protect our children and deal with trauma more effectively to save the world. Part of the healing process is finding a good therapist or doctor, so we can let our hearts bleed. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Dr. Harold Katz and Dr. Randall Bell! Happy Monday Judiann Romanello is here to discuss sustainable fashion. Stephanie Toups is back to talk about the Texas power outage and what to do if it happens again. We have a great show for you today so, stick around! Judiann Romanello Judiann Romanello is the founder and curator of DamnAged Vintage -a vintage clothing shop located in Cold Spring, NY. Prior to opening her store, she worked in the luxury fashion industry in New York City for world-renown designers such as Ralph Lauren, Elie Tahari and most recently Cartier. As an expert on vintage fashion, she is dedicated to bringing timeless womenswear and accessories to fashion lovers everywhere while educating consumers on the benefits of sustainable fashion Judiann grew up with lots of elders around her, and she loved to rummage through old clothing and accessories, that's where her spark started! Bernadette and Judiann discuss what classifies a piece of clothing as vintage. 30 years prior is considered vintage, and prior to the 1930's is considered antique! Special pieces can be found everywhere! When Judiann buys, she looks for authentic labels, good quality, and authenticity. If you have good taste, you can shop anywhere. Stephanie Toups Stephanie is a consumer advocate professional particularly focused on safety in food and personal care products. She became fascinated with the industry when she was diagnosed with a thyroid autoimmune disorder while pregnant with her second child. Stephanie has always been fascinated with education and holds both an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has owned and operated numerous businesses in the Dallas area. Texas suffered a deadly snow storm and ice storm two weeks ago that claimed 57 lives, mostly from hypothermia. A while ago, Texas separated itself from the rest of the country and made it's own power grid. The reason for this was that Texas is regulated by the state, and the rest of the country is federal. The Texas grid is called ERCOT, and it is run by an agency of the same name — the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. The Texas Interconnected System — which for a long time was actually operated by two discrete entities, one for northern Texas and one for southern Texas — had another priority: staying out of the reach of federal regulators. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Judiann Romanello and Stephanie Toups! Find Judiann's online store and read more about her here! Follow Stephanie on instagram @toupsyturvy! Hello One Life Radio listeners! Dr. Lori Whatley joins us today to talk about the effects of social media on self-esteem. Listen to the podcast for ways to protect your children, and yourself, from the insecurity brought on from too much social media. Learn about social self-harming, vanity validation and why social media is turning people into narcissists. Next, Von Eaglin defines defensiveness, and gives us real examples how it can help and harm our relationships. He says making excuses is the number one way to be defensive. Another way to be defensive is to argue about things you know you are wrong and try and blame the other person. A perfect example is when you say you’re late to a meeting because (insert excuse here). Von tells us we all have defense mechanisms and defensiveness to protect our ego. We need to learn how to self-soothe and learn to listen to criticism without getting too anxious. Listen to the show to learn ways to be less defensive. And, we all need to try and be less defensive online. The effects of social media on self-esteem are real, and we need to be conscious of what we say to ourselves and each other. Thanks to Dr. Whatley and Von for coming on the show today! And, thank you to our sponsors enviromedica, Castor & Pollux, the ISSN, Vegworld Magazine, Paleo Magazine and the Well Being Journal.
It’s Workout Wednesday on One Life Radio! Chris Gronkowski joins us for this St. Patrick’s Day talking about our favorite green drinks to make in our Ice Shakers! And, he teaches us how to gain muscle at home. Lisa Hubbard, owner of Rhythm Pilates walks us through the history and basics of Pilates. Gain Muscle at Home Chris says we don’t have to go to the gym to build muscle. We can do it from home without expensive equipment. Everyone has weight substitutes at home. Chris’ favorite weights are his kids on his back! You can also use a gallon of milk or water. Junior uses his stairs like a stairmaster. Or, workout bands are a super cheap option for resistance. Push-ups are also great exercise at home. Chris says as long as you have a door and resistance bands, you can get a great workout as well. But, be careful that the band doesn’t slip off the door and hit you in the face. Listen to the podcast for more ways to workout at home. Pilates 101 Lisa Hubbard is one of the top Pilates experts in the country. Pilates was born in Germany by Joseph Pilates. He believed the mind controls the body and he developed Pilates equipment during World War I for his men and also for injured men who were bedridden. After the war, he opened a studio in New York City and Pilates took off from there. Hubbard called it an “internal shower for your body”. She says anyone can benefit from Pilates. You’re using smaller muscles and smaller movements but it supports the entire structure of your body. Listen to the podcast to learn more about Pilates. And, visit Lisa's website for information on virtual classes on rhythmpilates.com. Thanks to Chris and Lisa for coming on the show today! Don't set yourself up for failure if you eat something crappy one day! If your scale isn't budging, stop. You need to be focusing on your muscle to weight ratio. Women measure inches, but the scale may be going down. Stick with it! depending on what you've taken in; water, protein, etc. When your cortisol goes up, your weight does too! Don't weight yourself everyday. Your goal should not be about perfection, it should be about progress. Plant-Based vs Mediterranean Diet Fats in our food are made up of fatty acid chains, which consist of carbon and hydrogen atoms linked together. There are two major types of fatty acids that we eat: Saturated and unsaturated. Since dietary fats are a complex topic, we’ll save saturated fats and trans fat (which is technically an unsaturated fat) for another day. For now, let’s focus on unsaturated fats. Thank You! Jared Ramirez is the CEO of Enviromedica, makers of Terraflora and a sponsor of One Life Radio is talking about Terrain theory vs. Germ Theory and Stephanie Setliff of Eating Recovery Center discusses the effect COVID had on those with eating disorders. Germ Theory vs Terrain Theory “The microbe is nothing the terrain is everything,” Louis Pasteur. Germs are just the umbrella term for viruses, infections, bacteria, etc. Why one person gets sick and the other doesn’t has to do with the terrain of the body! Germs can make us sick, but the question is why do some people never get sick and some get sick twice. The terrain of the body has to do with how healthy someone is, if you lead a healthy life, your terrain is stronger against germs. It’s as simple as that! Nature favors the most hospitable conditions! Life wants to thrive in optimal conditions. Get out and move! Your heart needs to get pumping! Jared says to get out there and just walk. One should abstain from processed foods to reach optimal body health. Bernadette asks about over-sanitization. Jared says that over-sanitization may be hurting us and our ability to fight off germs! Herd immunity is where enough of the population builds up a resistance to a contagion or disease. The virus will stop spreading as effectively. Listen to the full interview to learn more about heard immunity! Dr. Stephanie Setliff Dr. Stephanie Setliffi as a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist in Dallas, Texas. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and has specialized in the treatment of eating disorders for over 20 years. She joined the Eating Recovery Center in January 2014 to develop and open Eating Recovery Center in Dallas. She speaks frequently in the community on the topics of eating disorders and behavioral health to help raise awareness and education among medi- cal professionals and the greater community COVID and Eating Disorders Eating disorders and Covid are you scary, and terrible mix. For the eating disorder center here in Dallas, the Covid restrictions have been very hard. But they have been lucky enough to have a full medical staff and team at their disposal to help them find their way through. They had already been offering IOP, for a couple of years. So transferring from inpatient treatment, to IOP was a breeze to say the least. Last year the eating disorder hotline saw 75% increase in help calls, and an 89% increase in calls this year. We really describe eating disorders as being bio psychosocial disorders. Your genetics gives a lot of your vulnerability. Most people think about bulimia, or anorexia, but most forget about ARFID. people with ARFID typically don’t feel the need to be thin, but they just have some sort of Drive to avoid certain foods. So, let's get started! Heather Moore Dr. Heather Moore is a nationally recognized doctor of physical therapy and a member on the United States Olympic Committee sports medicine team. She has treated thousands of athletes, from professional to collegiate to high school and weekend warriors. Her work has included time on the PGA and LPGA tours. Heather was a Division I swimmer and water polo player at the University of Maryland and she is currently an avid distance runner. She has written articles for numerous magazines and journals, and her book, "Run Better, Not Less", breaking down how to treat the aches and pains associated with running. Is Running Right For You? If you have never ran before, simply start with a walk or a jog. Start small. Don’t wear a gps watch or anything that shows your pace. Listen to you body. We get into a lot of trouble when we silence our bodies. Running is not the end all be all of exercise. You really have to determine which exercise is best for you. There are so many factors! If you hate running, find an alternative you enjoy. On your first run, a lot can go wrong, and a lot of questions can arise. If you feel pain for more than 1 or 2 strides, stop. It is imperative that you listen to your body. You can really cause yourself injury with dehydration. It really is just not lacing up your shoes and running out the door. Go to an actual running shoe store! That needs to be dealt with with someone who can analyze your feet and shape of your foot. Leda Blas Leda is a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist with over 30 years in the Fitness Industry. She was one of the First Trainers to be Certified as a Body Pump Instructor in the US. She specializes in Corrective Exercise and Group Fitness. Leda and her husband Tom started B&D by Tom and Leda, offering 1-on-1, Group Training, Kids Classes and Self Defense Seminars for all Ages. How To Get Your Butt In Shape For Spring Your buttocks are made up of three muscles: the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus. The largest muscle in the body is the gluteus maximus. Located at the back of the hip, it is also known as the buttocks. In hip flexion all portions internally rotate the hip and it has shown that at 90` of hip flexion the leverage of medial rotation of Gluteus medius is increased eight folds. Glutes medius is an extremely important muscle in maintaining frontal plane stability of the pelvis it forms with the ipsilateral tensor fascia latae and contralateral quadratus lumborum a lateral fascial sling whose main role is to provide frontal plane stability. Squats are the most basic and important exercise for getting a bigger booty. Stand straight with feet hip-width apart, tighten your stomach muscles, lower down, as if sitting in an invisible chair, and straighten your legs to lift back up. To add resistance, add bands right above your knees like you would in a clamshell workout. If you are one of those who want to shrink your booty, you can start working the muscles surrounding the glutes. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Leda Blas and Dr. Heather Moore, and to all of our One Life Radio listeners. Mary Holland & Autumn Warren Connolly Autumn Warren Connolly is talking about Binaural Beets, And Mary Holland from The Children’s Health Defense is talking about the SARS-v-2 Inoculation on trial. Should be a an interesting show!⠀ Autumn Warren Connolly Autumn Connolly lives in the sky islands of Arizona with her three kiddos and animal babies. She is the creator of Anvil Traditional Healing, a company dedicated to restoring microbiome health through diet. Follow Autumn on Instagram @AnvilTraditionalHealing. Autumn is a self-taught vegan chef, a serial gardener and an avid believer and teacher of the powers of meditation. Binaural Beets When you hear two tones, one in each ear, that are slightly different in frequency, your brain processes a beat at the difference of the frequencies. This is called a binaural beat.Let’s say you’re listening to a sound in your left ear that’s at a frequency of 132 Hertz (Hz). And in your right ear, you’re listening to a sound that’s at a frequency of 121 Hz. Your brain, however, gradually falls into synchrony with the difference — or 11 Hz. Instead of hearing two different tones, you instead hear a tone at 11 Hz (in addition to the two tones given to each ear). Binaural beats are considered auditory illusions. For a binaural beat to work, the two tones have to have frequencies less than 1000 Hz, and the difference between the two tones can’t be more than 30 Hz. The tones also have to be listened to separately, one through each ear. Binaural beats have been explored in music and are sometimes used to help tune instruments, such as pianos and organs. More recently, they have been connected to potential health benefits. Mary Holland Mary Holland serves as General Counsel and Vice Chair of the board at Children’s Health Defense. She left the faculty of the New York University School of Law where she served for 17 years, most recently directing its Graduate Lawyering Program. Nicole Apelian We have a great show today with Dr. Nicole Apelian talking about "Herbology, MS, and The Healing Power Of Plant Medicine." Nicole Apelian Dr. Nicole Apelian is an herbalist, a biologist, a survival TV celebrity, an anthropologist, a survival skills instructor, and a mother. Nicole was a challenger on the second and fifth seasons of the History Channel’s TV series “Alone”, where she thrived in the wilderness totally solo with little more than her knife and her wits. She is also the author of two books, "The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies: The Healing Power of Plant Medicine and A Reference Guide to Surviving Nature: Outdoor Preparation and Remedies." Her latest book, "Forager’s Guide to Wild Foods: Edible Plants, Lichens, Mushrooms and Seaweeds will be available this Spring." The Healing Power of Plant Medicine Nicole has always had a love for the outdoors. With a bug collection, a nest collection, and a rock collection, her love for outdoor medicine was fueled by her MS diagnosis. For Nicole, herbal medicine is a life saver. Her daily go to is a combination for three mushroom. Lion’s mane mushroom, also known as Hericium erinaceus, is known to boost cognitive function and stimulate Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), proteins that play a pivotal role in the development and the maintenance of neurons. Studies show great potential for myelination and regeneration of nerves. Nicole takes this (along with the Turkey Tail and Reishi Mushroom Extracts) daily as her mushroom trio. You do not have to take these three mushrooms though. Nicole has been taking her anxiety blend as well daily as well as an added elderberry boost. For preventing general illness (which causes the dreaded immune response that then causes MS to flare up) I rely on my healing trinity of Elderberry Tincture, Usnea Spray, and All-Purpose (First Aid) Salve. (I also make each of these items myself, and have made them available individually or all together in a Travel Pack from my Apothecary.) Thank You! Ryan Casey Waller and Jackie Schlegel Today we have Ryan Casey Waller, Author of “Depression, Anxiety, And Other Things We Don’t Want To Talk About,” and Jackie Schlegel, Executive Director for Texans For Vaccine Choice.” Jackie Schlegel Jackie is excited to be here! She knows that these are heavy subject. But that she, along side One Life Radio need to bring clarity to the US Population and the world. Jackie became incredibly passionate about vaccine choice with the birth of her first child 20 years ago. Bernadette says with her first daughter, she took the time to research, but not everyone has that luxury of time, so having the right to choose is important. Texans for Vaccine Choice is excited by the scientific and medical advancements that have been made in an effort to combat the COVID-19 outbreak. The emergence of effective therapies and treatments brings hope and reassurance during what has been a trying and uncertain time. Following Bill Gates’ proposal for ‘digital certificates’ proving a person has been vaccinated against the coronavirus, Attorney General William Barr said he was ‘very concerned about the slippery slope in terms of continuing encroachments on personal liberty. Gates says that to use his vaccine to vaccinate the entire population, manufacturers will need indemnification to be protected from liability lawsuits Ryan Casey Waller Ryan Casey Waller is a licensed psychotherapist, lawyer, and pastor who has heard all the jokes about being both lawyer and priest. He studied philosophy and religion at the University of Southern California before pursuing a law degree, a masters in theology, and a masters in counseling from Southern Methodist University. Ryan practiced law before turning to a career in ministry, serving in both academic and ecclesial settings. He is now in private practice in Dallas. You can find his latest book, “Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don’t Want to Talk About” on amazon.com. Feel however you feel. There is no should or should not with feelings. Abundant living is not driving a Range Rover according to Ryan. Live authentically for who you are, and find peace in that. Do you have to love yourself before you love anyone else. Abundant life is being able to be at peace with yourself. Human beings are more resilient than we aren’t resilient. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Jackie Schlegel and Ryan Casey Waller! Happy Furry Friday! We’re discussing the “Let’s Fix This” free spay and neuter program with Maura Davies of the SPCA of Texas, and Monica Berg, author of “”Rethink Love”, teaches us how to be our own Valentine this year. Maura Davies Maura Davies, Vice President of Communications for the SPCA of Texas, discusses “Let’s Fix This”, a free spay and neuter program for over 20 zip codes in the Dallas area. Dallas has had a huge issue with dog bites and stray dogs in certain areas of the city. The SPCA commissioned a study of the areas and concluded that a free spay and neuter program would help lessen the number of bites and strays, but affordable veterinary services weren’t readily available. Since the program began, the SPCA has spayed and neutered over 55,000 dogs and cats. Education is important, but Davies says that networking has been key to the programs success, building trust and partnerships within the groups in the areas where the services are needed most. It’s a labor of love for everyone involved. And, this Valentine’s Day, Davies reminds us that chocolate is bad for our pets. Under no circumstances should you give your dog chocolate. If they get into some by accident, watch for any unusual behaviors and call your vet for advice. To learn more about the “Let’s Fix This” free spay and neuter program, visit lets-fix-this.org Monica Berg- Be Your Own Valentine Monica Berg joins us for Valentine’s to give us some great advice on how to be our own Valentine. Berg is the chief communications officer of The Kabbalah Centre International and the author of “Rethink Love” and “Fear is Not an Option”. Berg says we aren’t really aware of our own past and our own story. Self-knowledge and honesty are so important before you can be in a healthy relationship. We sometimes rely on the other person to fulfill what we’re missing, when we need to look within ourselves. We need to understand that a successful life is a messy one. Women can be very critical about themselves because they are expected to be successful in every aspect of their lives; education, home life, relationships career and more. Women seek validation externally and need to only look for their own approval. If we base relationships on external elements like what the other person has, we’re setting ourselves up for failure. If you’re feeling out of balance, anxious, angry or bitter, you aren’t in tune with yourself. Introspection is key. Ask yourself what you want and don’t be afraid to admit it. Check in with yourself every day and ask if you’re OK ad if not, what do you need? Like attracts like, so whoever you want to attract, become that person. Thank You! Thank you to Monica Berg and Maura Davies for coming on One Life Radio today! And, don’t forget to visit lets-fix-this.org, the SPCA’s free spay and neuter program to see if you qualify, or find ways you can help. Thank you to all of our One Life Radio listeners. So, let's get started! Jared Ramirez ared Ramirez is the CEO of Enviromedica, makers of Terraflora and a sponsor of One Life Radio. Enviromedica is a natural health and wellness company founded in 2007. Inspired by nature and ancestral health, they make premium foundational products to support whole body nutrition and help people achieve optimal health. We're Digging Up Dirt About Over-sanitization, Soil-Based Microbes Human beings co-evolved with microorganisms and bacterias to form the modern industrial societies we see today. There are 10's of 1,000's of years of evolution. Our microbiome plays into our immune system. Let your kids get dirty, but make sure they are safe. Our ancestors had a symbiotic relationship with their microbes that evolved over millions of years and served them well. They were benevolent hosts to a dense jungle of microscopic creatures, including worms and other parasites that actually contributed to their health. A decade ago, who knew that antibiotics dispensed during cold and flu season were potentially bringing us one step closer to a poor prognosis. But, none of us doing the prescribing realized that we might be paving the way to real illness in our well-meaning attempts to cure the sniffles. The prevailing wisdom was that germs are bad and we should get rid of them, and antibiotics are good and we should use them. The average American child will receive more than a dozen courses of antibiotics before reaching college, primarily for minor illnesses that require no treatment at all. Laura Day Laura Day is a practicing intuitive and the New York Times bestselling author of multiple books, including The Circle, How to Rule the World From Your Couch and Welcome to Your Crisis. She has built a community dedicated to healing and processing collective and individual trauma. Laura has been featured in Newsweek, New York Magazine, The Independent, Bottom Line, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, and People magazines. She speaks regularly both here and abroad, and has appeared on numerous shows including CNN, Fox News, Good Morning America, The View, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Turning Crisis Into Positive Change After a very hard survival when her brother and sister committed suicide, Laura began to write her book to help others to persevere. We are defined by our patterns, crisis shatters that. You can adopt a methodology. Do not create new damage in your life via crisis. You can continue to re-traumatize yourself if you live in your old life exoskeleton. You have to believe that other people can help you. Some people are the "perfect type," but in crisis, you must realize who you want to me. A lot of who you want to be are who others want you to be. Ask yourself who you want to be. Thank You! He believes that the key to mental and behavioral success is the ability to master self-awareness and emotional control. 21 Questions To Ask Your Partner Before Getting Married: Marriage The number one question going into marriage is debt! Debt follows and transfers to only you, but then to your spouse. Be upfront! Debt is one of the top 5 reasons that leads people to get divorced. A lot of couples who find talking about money awkward and avoid it, they tend to fight later in their marriage. Here is the article he is referencing! Talk about your upbringing with your partner, and the darlin things that you hated about your childhood as well. Dewone Bennett says talks bout sex! Sometimes deep conversations are way more important with just sex. Don't feel crazy if you want to google your date or your partner! Also, talk about where you want to live, Bernadette things this is dealbreaker. Navigating the holidays with multiple households is nearly impossible, especially if both parents are divorced. At some point, you need to deiced on values and who and what top do on holidays. Do not be afraid to compromise! Bernadette brings up that love languages are a do or die! You have to find your partners love language via communication or quiz. Understanding a love language is understanding what your partner needs at their core. Thank You! Happy Wednesday! We have Fit2Fat2Fit Author and Fitness expert Drew Manning. One Life Radio also has yoga and conditioning instructor David Welek on! We have a great show for you today, so stick around. Let's get started! The first time around, Drew was eating the food to simply gain the weight. This time around, he wasn't just eating to gain weight, but eating to numb the pain as well to try and subdue the pain from a breakup. This caused Drew to think deeper into weight gain and weight loss. Most people do not have an understanding of the mental and emotional side of eating well and working out to lose weight. It becomes an emotional journey! Stay disciplined in one single thing every single day. You must also train your brain to get through uncomfortable situations. Drew does a 60 second shower to feel uncomfortable. What keeps Drew accountable is that tens of thousands of people are following along with him, and that is inspiring! Follow Drew on instagram @Fit2Fat2Fit on instagram! David Welek David has been a strength and conditioning fitness instructor in Dallas, Texas for over 20 years. He is the creator of Black Dragon Yoga, a method of training that integrates principles and techniques of yoga and martial arts. David got into body building and strength training and by 24-25 years old, he felt old when he got out of bed. So he turned to yoga! David Welek credits yoga to relieving his addiction from weight training. Feeling stagnant with just yoga, David turned to martial arts as well. Years later, he still practices yoga and martial arts principals religiously. Black Dragon Yoga was born! Mobility and flexibility get used a lot interchangeably and they are different. Del ability is stretching the ligaments and lengthening them. Mobility is more for the joints and how much you can move your body. If you're not assessing, you're guessing. It is always best to get a full body assessment before throwing yourself into a fitness and yoga journey. David Welek also says that breath work is often overlooked in simple yoga classes! Being tested for breath work is so important. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests Drew Manning and David Welek! Learn more about Drew’s journey to fitness here. Happy Monday! We have a great show in store for you all! Mary Holland from the Children’s Health Defense is here to talk about HPV inoculations! Dr. Steven Schwartz is back to discuss SARS-CoV-2, COVID Corner and more! So, let's get started! Dr. Steven Schwartz Dr. Steve Schwartz is a recognized physician, researcher, inventor and entrepreneur. He is currently the day hospitalist at a U.S. military hospital in the Midwest, overseeing patient care, teaching, research, and leadership. He is also the Chief Medical Officer of Flutrends International and STS Health. Visit STS Health for more information. So many people are double masking, Bernadette is wondering if it really helps. Dr. Schwartz recalls a study that you would actually have to wear 8 masks all the time to be safe with your mouth and nose from contracting COVID - 19. Double masking seems to be a pipe dream. Researchers in virology labs use the n95 all the time to be as safe as they can be. Wear a mask. 1/3 of people who have coronavirus are asymptomatic. A mask is a simple sacrifice to make to protect your fellow citizens. Very little COVID patients cough persistently. Because we are so focused on COVID, we forget that the common cold and flu are still out there. Mary Holland Mary Holland serves as General Counsel and Vice Chair of the board at Children’s Health Defense. She left the faculty of the New York University School of Law where she served for 17 years, most recently directing its Graduate Lawyering Program. Mary received her Master of Arts and Juris Doctor Degrees from Columbia University, and her undergraduate degree from Harvard. She has worked in international public and private law. Mary is the co-author of “Vaccine Epidemic” and “The HPV Vaccine on Trial: Seeking Justice for a Generation Betrayed” The HPV Vaccine On Trial Mary and 6 other authors wrote a book all about he HPV vaccine. The HPV facts are simply this. There are ver 100 types of HPV. Genital warts are associated with types 6 and 11. CIN, or Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia is only types 18,18, 31, and 45. VAIN, Vaginal and Penile is types 16 and 33. Getting the HPV vaccine has never prevented cervical cancer or lesios, aka an area with abnormal cells. Gardasil is a vaccine produced by Merck that offerers protection from HPV type 16 and 18 only. 84% of HPV infections (including high risk infections) will clear up on their own. Approximately 15% will progress to a high grade lesion. Only 1% will progress to cancer. The average age for cervical cancer is 48, so why are we vaccinating 11-12 year old girls and boys? The FDA approved guardrail for aged 9-26 year olds. There is simple a disconnect between the facts and what we are being fed in doctor's offices. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Mary Holland and Dr. Steven Schwartz! If you would like to donate to The Children’s Health Defense, click here! Thank you to all of our One Life Radio listeners. As a longtime friend of One Life Radio, Maura is with us almost every Friday! Is your pet spayed/neutered? February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month and February 25, 2020 is World Spay Day. The decision to spay or neuter your pet can be the best decision you make for both your pet’s and your community’s long-term welfare. The surgery provides important health benefits, including longer life expectancy, lower rates of certain cancers and fewer behavioral issues. The SPCA is offering free dog spay/neutering in South Dallas! Thank you for being a responsible pet owner and scheduling a spay/neuter appointment! Spaying and neutering pets helps them lead long, happy lives. Ryan Cain and The Nashville Recovery Center Ryan Cain is the President of the Spero Group and the president and CEO of the Nashville Recovery Center, Tennessee Recovery Clinic and NRhythm Recovery Residences. He has been working in healthcare for almost 20 years and has been published in numerous articles and appeared on various media outlets. Ryan lives his life authentically and inspires others to have the courage to live their lives to their truest potential. The US has one of the highest rate of people with additions compared to other countries. Around only 10% of people receive treatment for their addictions. Ryan says this is because most people do not recognize that they have a problem. Also, timing to take 30 days out of your life and get better is not always attainable for everyone. American culture is certainly one that requires people to feel that they need to take something to relieve the stress of it all. A successful addiction treatment plan addresses all the problems, not just the substance being abused. Recovery is returning to normalcy, so recovery means hope again. Happy Thursday! We have a great show in store for you today! Warren Rustand, legendary CEO and Presidential Confidant is here! We also have Dewone Bennett talking about fear of commitment, pt 2. So, let's get started! Warren Rustand He is an entrepreneur, corporate leader, and the Forbes Books author of The Leader Within Us: Mindset, Principles, and Tools for a LIFE BY DESIGN. Selected as a White House Fellow in 1973, Warren was a special assistant to the Secretary of Commerce and co-led the first-ever executive-level trade mission to the Soviet Union. He also served as Appointments and Cabinet Secretary to President Gerald Ford. Defeating the Obstacles that Keep us from Hitting our Goals Warren starts out by talking about smoking gun. He begins with witnessing a transfer of power between presidents at the mere age of 29 years old. Warren now helps people young people and CEO's understanding power and what it means. Goal setting is so important. Those who live their lives spontaneously will not thrive compared to those who live their lives by principals and rule, and who follow a vision. Values and core belies are what keep us on the highway on the life. We must be driven by the priorities of life. All of us make mistakes and take the wrong exit, but all of us can ultimately get back on the highway. Clarity will drive us to success. Dewone Bennett Dewone Bennett is a Licensed Professional Counselor with two masters degrees and over 12 years of counseling experience. He currently has his own practice, Dewone Bennett Counseling in Dallas, TX. He believes that the key to mental and behavioral success is the ability to master self-awareness and emotional control. Fear Of Commitment - Pt 2 A lot of times, people have had a fear of commitment and didn't know it. Dewone has a personal story that made him develop a fear of commitment. The question is why do people have fear of loss? It is all about childhood, and what the now adult, witnessed as a child and what they now accept as reality now. Shared values should aways be a part of "relationship checklists." Values and outlook are most important, but make sure your checklists are realistic and attainable. Triggers are all around us, but we must remember that triggers are set by our anxiety and subconscious. Just talk to your partner honestly and ask them honest questions. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Warren Rustand and Dewone Bennet! Purchase and read Warren Rustand's latest book, here! Find Dewone at his website, here! Happy Monday! We have a great show for you today! Although the Bills lost and Bernadette is sad, she's bringing us the energy today! Autumn Warren Connolly is here to talk about magnesium carbonate drinks and onions. Logan Shiels is here to discuss 2021 beauty trends! So, let's get started! Logan Shiels Logan Shiels is an Oklahoma girl that has planted her roots in Dallas. She has immersed herself in all things beauty and fashion. Logan is currently a specialist stylist at ERA salon, and is also the co-founder of Uncommon Man alongside her husband Kyle Shiels. She loves getting active, not only in fitness but in her community as well through philanthropy. No matter the day, she’s ready to hustle. Buzzcuts, fringes and 90s bangs were all popular. But as we near the start off the year, perhaps the most unexpected hairstyle has returned. The much-derided mullet: made infamous by Little Richard and David Bowie, is back but with a modern twist. The modern twist on the haircut is that it is being worn by women as well as men. This year we’ve seen the do on Miley Cyrus, who started the trend for celebrities, and now even Rhianna. Color pops are back, brought in by Billie Eilish. Shags and Bobs are back as well! A straight, blunt bob can be tricky to maintain because it requires constant trims, but if you're handy with a flat iron it's one cut that never goes out of style. Whatever floats your boat, it will fly in 2021. Autumn Warren Connolly Autumn Connolly lives in the sky islands of Arizona with her three kiddos and animal babies. Autumn and her kiddos have started making magnesium carbonate drinks, because most people are deficient in magnesium! Most people think magnesium drinks are only around to help bowel movements, but that's not the case at all! Magnesium can help with sleep, skin, and a myriad of other things. With a soda stream type machine, Autumn and her kids have been making flavored magnesium carbonate and CO2 cartridges! Next, we are talking about onions! Onions have lots of very anti-inflammatory qualities in the form of the flavonoid quercetin. Studies also suggest that onions may lower high blood pressure, reduce heart attack risk, and even help protect against cancer. Thank You! Happy Wednesday! We have a great show today! Tina Bernet Allen is here to discuss how to break out of your workout rut! Dr. Kirk Erikson is here to discuss exercise and brain health. So, let's get started! Tina Bernet Allen Tina Bernet has a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology, she is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, she is certified in biomechanics, and she is part of the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America. She has been in the fitness industry for over 30 years, teaching cardiovascular classes at several of Dallas’ top studios and health clubs, as well as instructing and developing resistance training programs for individuals and groups in the gym and in the home. She has also been named the “Top Female Personal Trainer in DFW” by the Personal Trainers Hall of Fame. Fitness ruts are common, but due to a global pandemic, fitness ruts have been increasing. Because of quarantining, people have been gaining weight and that can also lead to ruts. You just need a jump start to get out of your rut. You can also hit a plateau, where you stop seeing change and people get into ruts. We are all going to fail sometimes. First, find out why you want to gain back your fitness or your health? Whatever the reason, just get up. Take a walk around the park, or even just the block! Often we have this idea of a perfect diet, perfect fitness diet, or perfect lifestyle in our heads. Focus on consistency. Get up and get out there! Dr. Kirk Erickson Dr. Erickson is a Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Geriatric Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, working in the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition within the Center for Neuroscience. His research examines cognitive and brain changes that occur as a function of physical health and aging, and he develops training, physical activity, and exercise trials. Exercise picks up new neurons the brain. It also creates new capillary bed growth that allows more oxygen going to the brain. Our brain is plastic, it is malleable. While our brain gets smaller the more we age, there are ways to heed that shrinkage and keep our brain in tip top shape. We shouldn't just think as exercise separate from diet. Dr. Kirk Erickson has found that diet affects your brain as well. We know a lot about exercise and the brain through animal studies. Exercise can help the brain sleep better and increase cognitive function. Get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity a week, or a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. Thank You! Happy Tuesday Today, Robin Perry Braun is here to talk about reinventing yourself. Dr. Terry Wahls is back to talk about The Wahls Protocol and How To Reverse Autoimmune Diseases. So, let's get started! Robin Perry Braun Robin Perry Braun has a Master’s Degree in psychology, she is a certified Energy Practitioner and ordained minister. She is working on her doctorate in Integrated medicine. She has spent more than 20 years searching for tools that bring authentic healing to the tough-to-heal afflictions. Robin is the author of “A Believers guide to the Law of Attraction”, “30 Days to Peace and Joy” and “Journey through the Storm: Overcoming Your Husband’s Porn/Sex Addiction.” Resolutions don’t typically work. Junior himself hasn’t made a New Year’s resolution in two years. Our bodies can’t just change immediately so change must be incremental. In 2020, the whole world got faced with adversity. New Years statistics. Like in football, we have to be strong and all 4 quarters to win the game. Not just come out strong in the beginning. A lot of people have trauma bonds to things that used to bring their brain joy. This can even include becoming addicted to therapy. Robbins main goal was a therapist is to allow people to show emotion on their own, without having to have someone pull it out of them. Dr. Terry Wahls Dr. Terry Wahls is a clinical professor at the University of Iowa and the author of the recently updated book The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo Principles and Functional Medicine Dr. Terry Wahls was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis in 2000, around the time I began working at the university. By 2003 Terry had transitioned to secondary progressive multiple sclerosis. She underwent chemotherapy in an attempt to slow the disease and began using a tilt-recline wheelchair because of weakness in her back muscles. This was the catalyst for Terry developing The Wahls protocol. The Wahls protocol teaches a better lifestyle. This means eating for your body, meditation, and all around health. Diet is a very powerful intervention in reversing auto immune diseases and disorders. Eat lots of vegetables that vary in color. Get rid of processed food. Know your vitamin D level, and get enough sunlight on your skin. Fish oil is also very helpful. B vitamins also never hurt. Dr. Terry Wahls suggests epsom salt baths in the evening to absorb magnesium through the skin and aid in sleep. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Dr. Terry Wahls and Robin Perry Braun! Happy Monday! Today we have Dr. Al Danenberg talking about the 5 important tools for a robust immune system. Mike McFarland stops by to discuss putting politics into a healthy perspective. So, let's get started! Dr. Al Danenberg We love hearing from Dr. Al Danenberg. He recently received news that he is cancer free after battling incurable aggressive multiple myeloma for two years. He says his ancestral nutrition protocol was a contributor to his ability to beat cancer. We owe everything we are to our immune system. You cannot get a healthy immune system by just taking pills you must be proactive in your lifestyle. Bernadette was feeling extremely crummy yesterday, but after taking a lot of vitamin C, she felt immediately better! Dr. Danenberg says diet is everything. Your gums can be a sign of weakness in your immune system. Gum should never be bleeding. Ketones are chemicals your liver makes. You produce them when you don't have enough insulin in your body to turn sugar (or glucose) into energy. You need another source, so your body uses fat instead. Your liver turns this fat into ketones, a type of acid, and sends them into your bloodstream. They live simply because we can fight of microbes in our environment they’re trying to attack our immune system. Mike McFarland Dr. Mike McFarland is a licensed psychologist who specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, OCD, male body image and eating disorders. It's crazy that the political climate has been interfering with relationships. Over 50% of adults say that they are stressed about the election. Who who actively engage in social media report higher levels of stress relating to the politics in the election. No that says we only have control of ourselves, so to worry about other peoples political leanings is futile we we can control our lives, but we can’t control others so we shouldn’t even bother. Avoid engaging and doom scrolling. Just put your phone down and be in the present! Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Dr. Al Danenberg and Mike McFarland! So, let's get started! Kip Watson Kip Watson is a Licensed Professional Counselor & Supervisor and Sports Psychology Professional. With nearly 20 years of experience with athletes, coaches, families, and corporate teams, Kip can do it all as a certified high performance coach. To read more about Kip as owner and founder of BrainCode Corps, click here. How Anyone Can Be A High Performer Get honest with yourself. When you re struggling with yourself to identify your goals, yo mist look within. A lot of people get s tuck in the minutia of analysis and get stuck in finding and achieving their goals. Everyone needs clarity in their personal life. Everyone needs a meeting with themselves! For some people, positive reinforcement is hard, almost unachievable. Write down what you love about yourself. That will help you become a high performer. Sam Morris Sam Morris is the founder of The Unbreakable Human Project, an interactive web-based personal development program for men wanting to “slay their mental dragons” of depression, anxiety and addiction. He is a certified Personal Development Coach, Recovery Consultant and Health Coach. The Power Of Surrendering When we surrender, we let go of the results of our actions. We accept that we can do everything right and well, and still not reach the goal we had set out to achieve ... Surrendering the results of our actions puts our attention on how we are in this moment, what's actually here, what life is now. We want to be clear that there is a huge difference between letting go of control or surrendering and giving up. "If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present." Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Sam Morris and Kip Watson. Happy Tuesday! Jared Ramirez, CEO of Enviromedica, is here to talk about bacteriophages, an ingredient in their Terraflora Advanced Care probiotic. Ryan Casey Waller joins us to discuss his new book, "Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don't Want to Talk About." So let's get started! Jared Ramirez Jared Ramirez is the CEO of Enviromedica, makers of Terraflora and a sponsor of One Life Radio. Enviromedica is a natural health and wellness company founded in 2007. Inspired by nature and ancestral health, they make premium foundational products to support whole body nutrition and help people achieve optimal health. Bacteriophage Terraflora Advanced Care uniquely incorporates targeted bacteriophages for intensive GI support. Found ubiquitously in nature, bacteriophages are microscopic proteins that inhibit the growth of unwanted bacteria in the gut. This allows beneficial bacteria to thrive, while maintaining an appropriate microbial balance to support a healthy GI tract. TerraFlora advanced care differentiates in what bacteriophages it targets. We have bacteriophages in out body. Bacteria in our body outnumber us 300 to one. Bacteriophages outnumber us 10 to one in our body. They are not a bad thing necessarily. Bacteriophages are so large, that we do not even have a number that our brains can comprehend. They are much more specific than antibiotics, and are typically harmless to the host organism and beneficial bacteria. This reduces the chance of opportunistic infections. Ryan Casey Waller Ryan Casey Waller is a licensed psychotherapist, lawyer, and pastor who has heard all the jokes about being both lawyer and priest. You can find his latest book,“Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don’t Want to Talk About” on amazon.com. Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don't Want to Talk About What do you call a priest who is also a lawyer? A Father In Law! Ryan helps individuals with large online platforms tell their stories through books. Feel free to reach out if you're interested in hiring a professional ghostwriter. Mental illness loves to tell lies. One of those lies is that you really should be able to manage what you're struggling with. Pastor and psychotherapist Ryan Casey Waller says no. Mental health issues are not a symptom of a spiritual failing or insufficient faith; rather, suffering is the very thing our Savior seeks to heal as he leads us toward restoration. And yet, as Waller has experienced personally, the battle can be lonely and discouraging. But it doesn't have to be. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Jared Ramirez and Ryan Casey Waller! Happy Thursday! We have a great show today with both guests talking about New Year's Resolutions. Beth Reeder Johnson is talking about setting New Year's resolutions that really stick. Von Eaglin is talking about New Year, New Habits. Setting New Year's Resolutions that Really Stick: 5 Ways to Create Lasting Habits Beth Reeder Johnson is a licensed Psychiatric Social Worker and Individual, Family and Couples Therapist with over 14 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She says that discipline is highly overrated. Beth doesn't think that discipline is bad. If you want the chips and queso eat them with friends. But, if you are eating an entire bag of chips by yourself or downing a bottle of wine by yourself, rethink your dopamine release. There's moderation in all things. Have a positive thought with your goals. Also, set reasonable goals by planning a cheat day or considering a day that you may "mess up" your cheat day. Not everything is going to be fun. But, have that subtle mindset shift where you make things fun. Even if something "sucks," find ways in the most buddhist way to makes things fun and find joy. New Year, New Habits with Von Eaglin Von Eaglin is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and works with two group practices in the Dallas area. Happy Tuesday! Our favorite guest and the World's Greatest Formulator, Shawn Wells, joins us on National Keto Day to breakdown what Keto truly means and how it can be beneficial for overall health, if done correctly. Shawn Wells Wells is a Master of Public Health, Licensed Dietitian, Registered Dietitian, Certified Sports Nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition. He is also a Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. Shawn Wells is the world’s leading nutritional biochemist and expert on Health Optimization. He has formulated over 500 supplements and patented 10 novel ingredients. Formerly a Chief Clinical Dietitian with over a decade of clinical experience, he has counseled thousands of people on natural health solutions such as keto, paleo, fasting, and supplements. As a world-renowned thought-leader on mitochondrial health, he has been paid to speak on five different continents. His insights have been prominently featured in documentaries, nationally syndicated radio programs, and regularly on morning television. Shawn’s expertise can help any health-conscious high achiever to better manage stress and experience higher performance and more energy through utilizing his practical wholistic solutions. National Keto Day What is the definition of diet? Scientifically, a diet is what you eat, but many people associate the word with restrictions. They think that a diet is a fast fix to a long term problem, but the fact is people don’t get unhealthy in a short period of time so they can’t recover from it quickly either. Diets might offer a quick outcome, but crash diets are physically and emotionally unhealthy. Taking your time while shifting nutrition means it’s also going to be far more long lasting and impactful. A better word for diet is lifestyle! The whole point of a ketogenic diet is to shift into a powerful metabolic state during which the body is burning primarily fat (as ketones are derived from fats). Keto is a powerful tool for easy weight loss—by crushing cravings, creating boundless energy, clearing through brain fog, supporting a healthy immune system, building unwavering resilience and much, much more. Keto Food Basics Eat fatty fish and seafood three times per week. Focus on healthy fats like good oils and things like avocados! Go the extra mile for pasture-raised, organic meat, dairy and eggs. They can make a world of difference. Load up on veggies! If you snack on crunchy veggies like carrots and cucumber slices you are less likely to reach for the chips. Keto, just like any other lifestyle, is about finding what works for you. There is no “one size fits all,” because lifestyle choices are like a compass—they might point you where you need to go, but you have to continually tune into your internal and external environment to get there. Thank You! A big thank you to our guests, Shawn Wells. For a ton of information on nutrition including guides to many of the subjects we cover on the show, visit Shawn's website, and follow him on Instagram @shawnwells.
