Send us a text"I was lucky to have had a magical childhood. I was born in Dearborn, Michigan, where my father worked for the Ford Motor company. He had immigrated alone from Greece in 1909 when he was fifteen, and it wasn't until forty-two years later that he returned to the “old country” and married my mother. We had no relatives here. Being aware that my parents were of a different culture and a generation older than my friends' parents, allowed me to accept their eccentricities and foster my independence. When I was seven, my father retired and we moved to Greece, where instantly I had a boisterous extended family. However, Greece's geographic vulnerability to Russia during the Cuban missile crisis scared him into moving us back to the States. We ended up in Portland, Oregon, where my father bought a house near the Greek Orthodox church which, aside from her family, became the center of my mother's life. She had indoctrinated me from birth that little baby Jesus and the little Virgin Mary were my friends whom I could ask for anything I wanted. It wasn't until I was nineteen that I began paying attention to coincidences, many of which resulted in my receiving exactly what I needed at just the right time. I found that the more my awareness was elevated, the sharper my intuition became, and the more I trusted it for guidance. This cultivated inner voice has enabled me to recognize coincidences as divine communication and to encounter miracles."www.SophiaDemas.comResources:www.claudiumurgan.comclaudiu@claudiumurgan.comgnostictv.com/programs/claudiu-murganhttps://spirituallyinspired.buzzsprout.comSubscribe for more videos! youtube.com/channel/UC6RlLkzUK_LdyRSV7DE6obQSupport the show

In the first half, attorney and digital privacy advocate Heidi Boghosian discussed the need for digital preparedness in today's world of rapidly evolving technology. She introduced the concept of a "digital go kit"—a set of backup tools that safeguard essential digital resources during emergencies.Boghosian claimed that many Americans are ill-prepared for such situations, stating, "Most people haven't done this... maybe your listeners are in the savvy category, but I read that something like 33% of our nation has traditional [non-digital] go bags."She stressed how important it is to have backup documents, especially in light of recent natural disasters. "Make copies, scan copies of your passport, your driver's license… and put those on a USB drive." Her recommended kit also includes cloud-based technologies, such as password managers.Boghosian then explained the alarming rate of data breaches affecting both individuals and organizations. "If you live in the modern world… your data is going to be compromised eventually," she warned. "I think you should always have healthy skepticism about everything that comes into your inbox."Referencing the rise of phishing attempts, she emphasized, "Never open any email with an attachment if you do not know the sender." She also lamented the impacts of identity theft, remarking, "It's life-changing—it upends your life."According to Boghosian, older adults are particularly vulnerable. She noted that lonely individuals may be more trusting of online interactions, but cautioned that a trusting nature should not come at the expense of personal safety.------------------In the second half, magician, paranormal consultant, and UFO investigator Brandon Scott explored the concept of synchronicity and its implications in daily life.Scott, who has a rich background in magic and has performed globally, is an expert in blending the realms of illusion and the paranormal. Synchronicity is critical to his craft, and he defined it as significant coincidences that align with one's inner thoughts and experiences. "For me, it's when two or more events coincide in a way that feels significant," he stated. "Carl Jung, who coined the term, described synchronicity as a causal connection principle that reflects the interplay between the inner world and the outer world."Scott suggested that synchronicities could be tied to the law of attraction, and that individuals unconsciously broadcast their thoughts to attract corresponding experiences. "I think of someone, somebody thinks of you, and they call," Scott explained. He also conducted a synchronicity experiment among listeners. Participants performed a card exercise that involved spelling their names, with the expectation that many would end up with the same card—the ace of hearts.

In this week's show Lian is joined once again by Mike Bais. Mike is a physiotherapist, counselor, university lecturer and author, also having had his own practice for many years. He is a trained priest in the esoteric christian tradition, which lead him to follow the mystical side of this lineage called the A.S.A. (Apostolic Succession of Arimathea). He believes that the Teachings of Christ are universal and should not be limited to a religious structure. His esoteric training comes from the western mystery tradition and the Toledano Kabbalah. Living in the Netherlands (Utrecht) he extensively worked with teachers and groups in the UK. After some decades of study and practice in the western esoteric tradition, the inner work came together in these three streams or disciplines that make up the Circle of Avalon. Mike sees it as his life's work to teach these traditions to whomever wishes to receive them. He is a mystic and teacher by nature and through his groups, individual sessions, workshops and writing, transmits them in the most pure and true way he knows. Mike is the author of 3 books: Paths on the Tree of Wisdom – A course in 21st Century Kabbalah, A Kabbalistic view on science: Book 1 and A Kabbalistic view on science: Book 2. In this show, a part 2 to last week's episode on fate and destiny, Mike and Lian explore the deep mystery of synchronicity—how meaningful coincidences shape our spiritual journeys and reveal hidden connections between the seen and unseen realms. Together, they trace the threads of psychological time, archetypal resonance, and the transformative potential of recognising synchronicity as a guiding force in our lives. Drawing from Jungian psychology, Kabbalistic teachings, and mythopoetic wisdom, they uncover how synchronicity isn't mere coincidence but an intricate dialogue between our inner and outer worlds. Jung described synchronicity as an acausal connection between events that hold personal meaning, bridging the gap between the material and metaphysical realms. They discuss how we can cultivate awareness of these signs, interpret them in service of our spiritual path, and discern their deeper meaning without falling into superstition or over-interpretation. Throughout this rich and soulful discussion, Lian and Mike invite listeners to consider the ways synchronicity can awaken them to their own mythic journey. How can we sharpen our perception to notice synchronicities when they arise? What role does psychological time play in these moments? And how can recognising the larger archetypal patterns help us live a more meaningful life? Join them on this journey into the heart of synchronicity, where myth meets reality, and where the unseen forces of life conspire to lead us toward wholeness. We'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment wherever you are listening or in any of our other spaces to engage. What you'll learn from this episode: Synchronicity as a Mirror of the Soul: Jung described synchronicity as an event that has no apparent causal connection yet holds profound personal meaning. These moments reveal the interconnectedness of our inner and outer worlds, guiding us toward greater self-awareness and spiritual insight. Cultivating Synchronicity in Daily Life: Developing presence and intuitive awareness allows us to notice synchronicities as they unfold and integrate their wisdom into our path. Rather than dismissing them as coincidences, we can recognise them as invitations from the unseen to deepen our engagement with life. The Mythic Thread of Synchronicity: Synchronicities often link to archetypal stories and patterns, offering a bridge between personal experiences and the deeper currents of collective meaning. Understanding these patterns can help us see our own lives as part of a greater mythic unfolding. On January 6, 1982, 29 year old, Bobbie Jo Oberholtzer didn't return home after working in Breckenridge, Colorado. She was only the first woman to go missing that day; soon 21 year old, Annette Schnee, was also reported unaccounted for. The connections between the two women quickly piled up. They both had hitchhiked that day, they both had a connection to Bobbie Jo's husband, and then there was a random pair of orange socks. These wouldn't be the only connections or coincidences found in these cold cases, and it would take over 40 years to catch the dirtbag responsible for their murders. Coincidences may seem like random occurrences to many of us – but not to a mathematician. Sarah Hart is professor of geometry at Gresham College and professor emerita of mathematics at Birkbeck, University of London. She joins host Krys Boyd to discuss why we so often look for coincidences in our lives — and why that's a mathematically futile endeavor — why the blind luck behind lottery wins might not be so blind after all, and why revealing this magic with numbers makes the phenomenon all the more interesting. Her article, “The surprising maths that explains why coincidences are so common,” was published in New Scientist.

"I have very fond memories of watching thunderstorms as a child; memories which are almost certainly coloured in far too brightly, busier and with more detail than there actually was. "I took this recording on a similar journey; starting with the original sound of a single thunder clap and embroidering it, elaborating on it until it sounded as luminous as I remember the thunderstorms from my childhood." Less than three years before Mica Francis' body was found in a North Carolina swamp after her alleged suicide, there was another strange death near Solid Rock at Market Common, the Myrtle Beach church that belonged to Mica's husband Pastor JP Miller. That's the death of Chris Skinner, the 41-year-old quadriplegic man who was married to the woman JP was allegedly having an affair with at the time — the same woman JP has routinely been photographed with since Mica's death in April. Chris was found in his wheelchair at the bottom of his neighborhood pool. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell take a look at Chris' inspiring story of determination and hope — at who he was BEFORE he entered into JP's ecosystem in 2018. They also take a deeper look into his death, the ensuing investigation and the strange coincidences and inconsistencies that exist between his and Mica's cases. Was Chris at the pool this morning because he was meeting someone to play chess? Or did he go there because he had lost hope? Chris' wife Suzie told police that he wasn't suicidal and she later referred to his death as having been a result of getting too close to the edge of the pool. But that's not what surveillance footage shows. And what role did JP's alleged relationship with Suzie play in Chris' death and Mica's desire to divorce JP? JP and Suzie have reportedly denied having an affair. And JP has denied any and all allegations related to Mica's death and her allegations of coercive control abuse during their marriage. Also on the show, alleged Alex Murdaugh co-conspirator Russell Laffitte is out of prison and home for the holidays and what will it take for courts to take women seriously when they ask for restraining orders against the men they fear? It's finally time for us to revel in the gloriousness that is our dear, sweet, unproblematic Anthony. He had some major plotlines this season (law school! professional development at the design firm! exploits with Bernice! an engagement!), but was his character developed enough, or did these storylines leave us with even more questions about our friend? We'll talk about it. We'll also reimagine Anthony's life if social media has been a thing in the “Designing Women” universe. Would he be a keyboard, prison reform advocacy warrior? How would the whole “A Scene From a Mall” plotline have played out? And what about his engagement to Vanessa? Are they a #vanthony couple? Let's talk about it. And then come back Thursday for this episode's "Extra Sugar" - inspired by Anthony's soon-to-be (maybe. possibly. surely. right?) trip down the aisle, let's talk about our favorite TV wedding memories - "Designing Women" and otherwise!
You know what they say—family is forever. But what if forever includes visits from beyond the grave? In this episode, a woman experiences more than a few "coincidences" connecting her to her late grandmother and grandfather. From unexpected wedding synchronicities to chilling encounters in her new home, the line between family tradition and ghostly visitations blurs. And it turns out, saging isn't the cure-all for keeping spirits out! If you have a real ghost story or supernatural event to report, please write into our show or call 1-855-853-4802! Hey, it's Amy Newmark and today I'm going to share a couple of very cool stories about miraculous coincidences with you from our latest Miracles book. If you are under the impression that Chicken Soup for the Soul is a Christian publisher, that is not true. We are for everyone, of every religion or no religion. We publish a book about miracles, angels, etc. almost every year, and some of the stories are by religious people and some are not. What unites these stories is that they make you say wow when you hear them. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
