Send Kris and Rob a Text Message!February 18, 1949, London England. Mrs. Olive Henrietta Olivia Robarts Durand-Deacon is meeting a man at his workshop to discuss her new invention, false fingernails. What Olive doesn't know, is that the man she knew as a perfectly pressed and manicured neighbor, was actually a scam artist and serial killer who was going to murder her and put her body into a vat of sulphuric acid. Like the other wealthy victims, he'd lured with promises of business deals only to steal their assets, she was joining five other victims whose bodies were already sludge. This is a story of greed, narcissism and murder. This is John George Haigh. I highly doubt you have ever been conned by anyone to the degree Robert Hendy-Freegard conned his victims. This 21 year-old pub bartender, waiting to go on trial for planning to kidnap his ex-girlfriend, decided to start lying to some of his customers one day. And when they believed his lies, he lied some more. And he just kept lying. For years. And he convinced three people to drop out of university, give him all of their money, and follow him for up to a decade all around England, hiding from enemies that weren't real, and even lying to the police to protect a man who had convinced them he was a secret MI6 agent looking to expose hidden IRA members. And that's just the beginning of this surreal story. True Tales of Hallow's Eve 4. Hope to see you there! In today's midweek mini, we're plunged into the dark waters of the River Witham in the UK, where a gruesome discovery turns a peaceful walk into a nightmare.Join us as we unravel the case of Nicholas Metson, a man whose twisted actions led him to stab his wife, Holly Bramley, and call upon a friend to assist. The Murder Of Janet Muller [UK True Crime Documentary] Janet Muller was found at a bus stop in March 2015, dressed just in her nightgown. She had shown indications of mental distress in the days leading up to this point, so she was sectioned and admitted to Mill View, a facility in Hove for people with mental health problems. Janet Muller escaped from the hospital and vanished a little more than a week later. Her body was discovered in the boot of a burned-out car, and a guy called Christopher Jeffrey-Shaw was subsequently imprisoned for manslaughter. Jeffrey-Shaw insisted that he had never met Janet Muller. He said he had no idea she was in the car's boot when he was reportedly instructed to set it on fire by drug traffickers who had allegedly used the car in a heist. Jeffrey-Shaw acknowledged to starting the fire but denied murder, saying he had no idea the Brighton University student, Janet, was in the car. He was sentenced to 17 years in prison. This week, the Uk True Crime podcast heads to Clothes Show Live at the NEC Birmingham. Michelle Gunshon was working in security at this event with a couple of colleagues. They headed up from London and after their accommodation was flooded found another place to stay, The Dubliner. It was a lively place. But on the Sunday of the show, there was no sign of Michelle and her car was missing - just what had happened to her? When Francis Cavanagh looked out of her window and saw a couple kissing in a shadowy alley, she thought nothing of the romantic moment. She actually witnessed the murder of 16-year-old Elizabeth Anne Daniels, whose nude body was found the following morning in the boy's toilets of a Birmingham primary school. Her killer, Michael John Collins would later be diagnosed as a schizoid-aggressive psychopath and recommended never to be rereleased. It may be the oldest profession, but it is also one of the most deadly, was a statement in an article in the Glasgow Times, after the body of an eighth sex worker in Glasgow was found, after these very vulnerable women had been working in fear for their lives for over a decade. Was there a serial killer stalking and killing these women, or were there multiple murderers walking the streets of Glasgow?SOURCES:Please see our website for all source material and photos at https://scottishmurders.com/episodes/serialvictimsSHOW:Support Us: ko-fi.com/scottishmurdersPatreon - patreon.com/scottishmurdersMerch - teepublic.com/user/scottishmurdersWebsite - scottishmurders.comTwitter - @scottishmurdersInstagram - @scottishmurderspodcastFacebook - facebook.com/scottishmurdursYouTube - @ScottishMurdersLinktree - linktr.ee/scottishmurdersCREDITS:Scottish Murders is a production of https://www.cluarantonn.com/Hosted by Dawn YoungResearched, Written and Produced by Dawn YoungProduction Company Name by Granny RobertsonMUSIC:Dawn of the Fairies by Derek & Brandon FiechterScottish Murders is a member of the Darkcast Network. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5530461/advertisement

Detectives linked this murder to other local missing people, including Susan Rushworth and Shelley Armitage. In this concluding episode, I look at how Griffiths admitted murdering Susan and Shelley, and examine other unsolved murders where Griffiths may have been responsible. This week, the UK True Crime podcast is from Cambuslang, about 6 miles southeast of the centre of Glasgow, as I look at a terrifying double murder. The body of 36 year-old taxi driver Cathy McChord was found with her body crammed into the boot of the car, with the meter still running. Cathy's cigarette lighter, inhaler and car keys placed in a straight-line. Suggesting a ritualistic element to the crime. Two months after Cathy's murder another body was found when 48 year-old Elizabeth Walton was found in the grounds of her daughter's school. After declining a lift home, Elizabeth was attacked and then strangled as she walked back home from an evening out. When police found Elizabeth's body they found ritualistic and symbolic acts had taken place, similar to those of Cathy. The police knew they were searching for a double killer..... What a CreepSeason 18, Episode 2Diamond Annie & the 40 Thieves/ElephantsLadies Who ThievePeaky Blinders is a popular show on Netflix about a group of thieves and gangsters in 1920s London. Many people do not know that there were gangs of women considered the best shoplifters and thieves of the wealthy that ran from the mid-19th century up into the 1950s. The most notorious of these was the “Forty Thieves/FortyElephants” gang, run by tough women who master criminals. Diamond Annie (born Anne Diamond) was labeled as such for her ferocious punch with fingers crammed with diamond rings. At 5'9”, she was a formidable woman who ran a gang of shoplifters, seducers, and blackmailers, which made the police and media baffled by their brazenness. With the invention of the automobile, women soon took off for all parts of England with their thieving. This story is wild!
