The family of late Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has launched a Kickstarter campaign to finish and release the only album Jordison's band Vimic recorded, Open Your Omen. In 2006, Kalen joined Korn on tour, primarily on backing vocals, and can be heard and seen in the MTV Unplugged: Korn release in 2007 where he was featured playing an exotic array of instruments. He remained with Korn – often seen as The White Rabbit – until 2008. While working with Korn, Kalen fronted the band The Changing, where he collaborated again with Jonathan Davis on single Jerry Bruckheimer. His career in metal would continue as the lead vocalist for the band Superfix, before joining forces with Joey Jordison (formerly of Slipknot) as the lead vocalist for Vimic in 2016. Kalen has worked extensively in the studio providing backing vocals for artists including 10 Years, Pop Evil, Dragonforce and singing on the Lego Batman movie soundtrack. Now, Kalen Chase has embarked on a new path, building upon his singer-songwriter roots, hard rock persona, and production experience to create a sound of his own. His contagious energy and stage presence captivates the room. His percussive delivery and sweet but cynical lyrics naturally draw an audience to join in harmony. Joey Jordison, 46, the legendary drummer and founding member of Slipknot died today at the age of 46. While a cause of death has not been released, Joey was battling transverse myelitis, a form of multiple sclerosis.Joey Jordison was one of the best musicians of the nu metal era, defining Slipknot's sound, but he was not one dimensional. Abstract: Molecular mechanisms of virus-related diseases involve multiple factors, including viral mutation accumulation and integration of a viral genome into the host DNA. With increasing attention being paid to virus-mediated pathogenesis and the development of many useful technologies to identify virus mutations (VMs) and viral integration sites (VISs), abundant literatures on these topics are available in PubMed. However, knowledge of VMs and VISs is widely scattered in numerous published papers, and the association of VMs with VISs in the viral genome or the functional annotation of VISs still lacks integration and curation. To address these challenges, we built a database of human disease-related Virus Mutations, Integration sites and Cis-effects (ViMIC), which specialize in three features: virus mutation sites, viral integration sites and target genes. In total, the ViMIC provides information on 6,461 VMs, 79,089 VISs, and 15,056 viral target genes of 8 viruses in 65 human diseases obtained from literatures. Furthermore, in ViMIC, users are allowed to explore the cis-effects of virus-host interactions by surveying 78 histone modifications, binding of 1,358 transcription regulators, and chromatin accessibility on these VISs. "It's a very heavy record and has a song for everybody I guess," proclaimed frontman for Bad Wolves, Tommy Vext, ahead of their eagerly anticipated debut album, Disobey on May 11. "I think we really individually and collectively wanted to go into this record and recording process to make something that was greater than the sum of all of its parts. We were really influenced by bands like Faith No More and System of a Down and so we took a lot of risks. Some of the songs are super, super heavy and some of the songs are very progressive and some of them are just straight up rock songs. We obviously did a cover of The Cranberries song 'Zombie', which everyone is really responding well to. We have a ballad on the record and we have everything from rock to death metal wrapped up into one band with one sound so that's gonna be interesting.With members that have played in bands such as Divine Heresy, God Forbid, Devildriver, Bury Your Dead, In This Moment, Scar the Martyr, Vimic and Snot, Bad Wolves is the epitome of the often bandied around term supergroup, not that Vext embraces the title warmly."I don't really... what is a supergroup? Do you put Audioslave in the category and someone like Giraffes on Orchestra?" he questioned. Predominantly supergroups aren't good bands.
