Fitness Specialist // six-time Mr. America finalist // the author of Get Lean for Life - 7 Keys to Lasting Weight Loss WARREN HONEYCUTT:It's well known that older adults and those with underlying health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease are vulnerable to COVID-19. But now, researchers and medical experts are looking at other specific conditions that put people at an increased risk of complications and more severe symptoms from the coronavirus. One condition garnering a lot of attention is obesity. “It is now increasingly clear with emerging medical literature that severe obesity is an independent factor for serious coronavirus infection,” says Kuldeep Singh, MD, FACS, MBA, FASMBS, a top weight loss surgeon in the Baltimore Metropolitan area and Director of The Maryland Bariatric Center at Mercy. Two categories of obesity can put you at risk of complications from COVID-19: Obesity and severe obesity. If you have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above, you are considered obese. A BMI of 40 or above is considered severely obese, which can put you at risk of acute respiratory distress (ARDS), which is a serious breathing problem. The CDC says ARDS, a major complication of COVID-19, creates challenges for doctors when trying to provide respiratory support.

We are talking about sugar – something this country is addicted to! Later this hour we are joined by Warren Honeycutt, author of Get Lean for Life and a 6 time finalist for Mr. America. Discuss Sugar – sugar content and labels Sugar and the gut biome average American swallows each year—a whopping 130 pounds of added sugars. That's about 22 teaspoons a day Fructose causes non-alcoholic fatty liver Hidden sugar – ketchup three tbls. = 12 grams of sugar = 4 cookies Don't exceed the American Heart Association's recommended sugar levels, which are 5 teaspoons for women (20 grams); 9 teaspoons for men (36 grams); and 3 teaspoons (12 grams) for children. For reference, a can of soda generally contains up to 12 grams of sugar; a single slice of whole wheat bread contains up to 2 teaspoons of added sugars. DOC SHOCK Okay, I was shocked by this one – not the results, just the facts of the study. The University of the Netherlands looked at the effects when a pregnant woman smokes marijuana. First of all, I didn't know there were women out there stupid enough to do this, but it turns out that worldwide, 2-13% of pregnant women do. After MRI imaging of the brain of the babies after they were born, the ones who were exposed had thicker pre-frontal cortexes and later also developed mental heath issues. DUH!!!!!! Read more! Award-winning action film Director/Fight choreographer/stunt performer Art Camacho has a vast experience in the entertainment industry. He is in production of Final Payback 2, a sequel to one of his successful action films, and in development of a Latino Vampire film called "The Crossing". Camacho also Co-produced, wrote and Directed "Confessions of a pit fighter" which was released in by Lionsgate Pictures. His background in martial arts and fighting helped him make the transition to Fight choreography in martial arts action films. With over 35 action films under his belt as a fight choreographer he was dubbed "The Fight Master" by the leading martial arts publications. Camacho then became a successful feature film director/Producer. Camacho was most recently featured on Latin Nation and he was the first recipient of the "The Outstanding Director of the Year" award from the Action on film, film festival 2005/2006, The Golden and Bronze halo awards from the Hollywood motion picture counsel.
