Sammy Hagar Releases Dream-Inspired Tribute to Eddie Van Halen – "Encore, Thank You, Goodnight." Just months after announcing his semi-retirement from touring, Sammy Hagar is back with a powerful new single, Encore, Thank You, Goodnight., out April 25 via Big Machine Rock. Co-written with Joe Satriani and co-produced by Satriani and Eric Caudieux, the track was inspired by a dream Hagar had about Eddie Van Halen. The result? A heartfelt, high-energy tribute celebrating their unforgettable years together in Van Halen. “This song is my final bow to that part of my life,” says Hagar. “It's a thank-you – with love, respect, and one hell of a guitar solo.” The track also features Michael Anthony on bass and signature Van Halen-style backing vocals, with Kenny Aronoff delivering hard-hitting drums. Satriani brings soaring guitar work that channels Eddie's spirit while staying true to his own sound. Fans attending The Best of All Worlds Las Vegas residency kickoff at Dolby Live will witness the live debut of the song at the end of the month.

This week, we head back to '82 (when we could throw a pigskin a quarter mile) with special guest Jackson Reed. With his band Jackson Reed and the Silverbirds, the 26-year old Calgary rocker is mixing an irresistible blend of earnest '80s classic rock with modern pop smarts. Following the success of tracks like 2021's "Dangerous Lover" (featuring legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff) and 2023's "In My Head," their latest single is a cover of Prince's iconic 1982 hit "Little Red Corvette", offering up a take on the classic that's both faithful and fresh. It's garnered radio airplay coast-to-coast in both the USA and Canada. Reed also hosts the wonderful podcast Guess That Record, where he has interviewed luminaries such as The Police's Andy Summers, Dweezil Zappa, and Billy Joel drummer Chuck Burgi. And, in tribute to Jackson's pod, we play a brand new O3L game called "Back in 82, I Could Guess That Song!" Like good honorary Canadians, we partake in conversations about hockey, Rush, the Tragically Hip, Degrassi, Corner Gas...plus little red corvettes, Brett's drag club appearance, and Uncle Gregg's oddly specific sensual fantasies. Hey, it was Saturday night, we guess that makes it alright... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Dominic a young artist who is just beginning his professional musical journey. Based in California, Dominic is excited about the release of his debut album, Happy Little Accidents, which was released June 28 on Quarto Valley Records.Happy Little Accidents is fresh music but with hints of nostalgia from the many artists that influenced him since he was a kid, such as the Beatles, Aerosmith, Rick Nelson, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams III. This album is laced with touches of humor, great melodies and catchy lyrics while paired with a completely unique vocal style which all help make this an extremely well-balanced collection of get-off-your-chair-and-dance tunes. The album features a cast of stellar musicians assisting Dominic in his maiden musical adventure including premier players like guitarist Doug Pettibone (whose impressive list of credits include Sting, Keith Richards, Mark Knopfler, Joan Baez, Jewel, Tracy Chapman, John Mayer, and many others), iconic drummer Kenny Aronoff (whose off-the-hook credits include John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones and a ton more) , bassist Jorgen Carlsson (ex-Gov't Mule) and bassist Brent Harding from Social Distortion. Every song on the album showcases the amazing musicianship of these incredible artists with Dom doing all the lead vocals. The album was produced by Dave Jenkins (producer and co-writer who studied under Brian Wilson – he produced Dolly Parton's version of Heart's classic “Magic Man” with former Heart guitarist Howard Leese). The album was recorded the “old fashion way” with stand-up bass and vintage condenser microphones. The music is both a rockin' album of classic rockabilly and classic country influences along with a few ballads that slow down the frenetic pace a bit. One can hear the influence in Dominic's music that pays a debt to artists like Johnny Cash,Merle Haggard, Bo Diddley, Elvis and the Beach Boys, along with a lot of rockabilly in general.Dominic wrote “Song for Nick” about his brother's passing. Songs “La Verne” & “Ely May,” “Hard to Say Goodbye,” “Just Take it All,” “Poor Me Another,” “Wanna Good Time,” “Rosie” are based on Dom's real-life experiences. While Happy Little Accidents is Dominic's debut album, he has written and previously released two singles “What a World We Live In” and “Out of Control” which were played on US and UK radio. He's also done a little acting on the side, having a bit part in the film, Happy Birthday, which starred Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. https://www.daqofficial.com
