Today on the show, we're answering the question, “Why does the winter feel so long?” You may know Cubbie Fink as one of the founding members of Foster the People, but he's also an incredible producer and creative force. And joining him is his wife Rebecca St. James—Grammy and Dove Award-winning Christian artist, worship leader, author, and just all-around wonderful human. I think we're all feeling OVER THE WINTER at this point, so we're going to talk about why it feels so long and how we handle it, AND we get to talk about Cubbie and Rebecca's book about their life and marriage, called Lasting Ever. If you're following along in your TSF Seasons Guidebook, we're on page 25. And as always, if you still want to get a Guidebook (especially because spring pages are coming soon, we're emailing them out on March 17th!), you can find it at anniefdowns.com/seasons . . . . . Today on the show, Mattie Jackson is back to help us answer the question "Where is the hope of winter?” You may remember her from episode 345 and if not, you're going to love her. She is an incredible author, speaker, and entrepreneur with a heart for helping others find hope in the midst of life's hardest seasons. Mattie so generously offers her wisdom and story as a friend who's experienced tremendous grief after suddenly losing her husband at the age of 28. Her latest book: Through the Valley of Grief, is a 365-Day Devotional of Spiritual Practices for Hope in Suffering, and as we talk about trying to find hope when it feels like winter will never end, this devotional and Mattie's heart is something I think you're going to learn a lot from today. Today on the show, I get to introduce you to my sister, Tatum Green, and we're also joined by David Thomas, whom you know and love from Daystar Counseling and the Raising Boys and Girls podcast. Together, we're going to share with you the story of my nephew, TJ, and why we wanted to put this brand new book, Where Did TJ Go? in your hands. We keep saying this is a book we wish no one needed, but so many families do, and that was our reality as a family in 2022 when we realized we couldn't find the right book to read to my nephew, Sam, about losing his baby brother. We absolutely have the hope of heaven, but grief and loss can make it feel like it's always winter and it will never end, so if you're taking notes in your TSF Seasons Guidebook, we're on page 19, and we've given space to process today as you listen. . . . . . ❎-CLUSIVE Robert Treat: The fallen. Stargates. Why We Are Here.Episode 11 of 22Robert's Go Fund MeConnie Willis: The Podcast ❎-CLUSIVEInformant Robert Treat tells us why The ET are here and more. This is a live to tape death-bed confession by a private military, government contractor and US navy Special warfare veteran. In this episode Robert tells us who the Fallen are, what are Stargates and why we are here.Give to ROBERT's GO FUND ME: Robert's Go Fund MeRobert Treat was born in Anchorage, Alaska in 1969 and adopted at birth by an oil driller and his wife moving to Malta when he was a week old. He spent most of his childhood traveling all over the world living in Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Norway, Trinidad, Borneo, Scotland and several other countries. Robert left high school at age 17 and immediately enlisted in the Marine Corps. Prior to leaving for basic training his recruitment was transferred to the United States Navy due to extremely high testing scores. He was initially trained as an Operations Specialist and later went on to become an instructor for Anti-Submarine Warfare specializing in Target Motion Analysis. Following Robert's short career in the Navy, he went on to work in the private sector as a contractor for several government Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies. He was contracted to many Special Access Programs specializing primarily in Project and Finance Management. While in this role he managed projects relating to Space Based Electronics and Armor Systems, Genetic Engineering, Social Engineering and Psychological Operations along with several other “Dark Programs”. Robert cites his most interesting role as working as an undercover operator within an undisclosed “illuminate” order and serving as their Assistant Minister of Finance. While in this role he enjoyed the trust and confidences of many of the world's most secretive elites and had first hand access to many of their agendas and goals. Robert retired from this life in 2015 and settled into a quiet life as a regular citizen and in 2018 he opened a small bar in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. The rise of COVID in 2019 brought with it reminiscences of some of the more frightening and insidious elements of the projects he participated in throughout his career. In 2020 Robert was diagnosed with a progressively terminal illness and made the decision to disclose his knowledge and contacted me to share this information. Who We Are Women Leading Travel & Hospitality is a membership-based association that connects executive women across all sectors of the travel and hospitality industry. Its mission is to unite, inspire and empower its community of executive women leaders by providing unparalleled resources, support and motivation to achieve personal and professional growth. Our History Women Leading Travel & Hospitality is the sister community of the Women in Retail Leadership Circle (WIRLC). WIRLC came about after co-founders Jennifer DiPasquale and Melissa Campanelli discovered that while there were many women working in retail, that wasn't reflected in the number of women in C-suite positions. Therefore, in 2014, they launched an exclusive community of women executives at leading retailers and brands. Jennifer and Melissa are the ultimate champions for fellow woman executives and abide by the belief that women investing in other women is good business. Why We Are Here, Right Now The travel and hospitality industry saw a devastating downturn in 2020. We may not know the challenges that lie ahead, but we do know a trusted community of like-minded women is needed now more than ever. We're certain there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and we want to help the entire way through and beyond. Women Leading Travel & Hospitality is here to guide you through it both personally and professionally with a community and network that's stronger than ever. Where We Are Going Our team will provide this community resources focused on both executive professional development and business strategy, launch both virtual and in-person events, and expand our core membership base. In the coming years, Women Leading Travel & Hospitality's plan is to grow, with the guidance of our expert advisory board. Our community's immediate needs will always be at the forefront, and we're excited for our evolution as we embark on this journey. We promise, we're just getting started.

Who We Are - A People On Mission: Part 2 - Why Are We Here? (Acts 1:8-14) It's easy for any person or organization to drift. Life is so full of challenges and distractions that it can happen to anyone. Churches are not exempt. Churches who become inwardly focused always drift away. That has never been Sugar Creek. Our church has begun a journey of reconnecting with Who We Are. Pastor Mark takes us back to the foundation of Why We Are Here.

Lieutenant General Matthew B. Ridgway assumed command of Eighth U.S. Army after it had been driven south in the early phases of the Korean War. Faced with a broken and dispirited force, Ridgway had to turn the situation around quickly. His memorandum of January 1951, “Why We Are Here,” was a message to the troops about what was at stake, and embodied his belief in the cause and faith in the fighting spirit of the force. In six months, a rejuvenated Eighth U.S. Army had driven the Chinese north of the 38th parallel. It is one of the great stories of U.S. military history. This inaugural episode of the Dusty Shelves series, Army historian Con Crane and War Room podcast editor Jacqueline E. Whitt present the memorandum and the story of Lieutenant General Ridgway. The memorandum, displayed and transcribed below, comes from the collection of Ridgway’s papers available at the Army Heritage and Education Center.
