This is the premier episode of "Codd's World!" It debuted on March 3, 2025. After hosting "Art Talks" for several years on KZMU, host Richard Codd wanted to explore more about the people who live and work in Moab and Grand County and how they make our community the amazing place it is! Codd will interview local artists, community leaders, visitors, business owners, musicians, and special guests from time to time who bring an unique perspective on the town we know and love. This episode features Mr. Dillon Folk, Manager of City Market, Moab. Mr. Folk discusses the challenges facing the supermarket's staff as they try to provide a first-class store in a small town and county of about 10,000 people. How do they manage their stock in a store that sees its customer base fluctuate by the thousands given the weather and the season. Mr. Dillon discusses the strategies they utilize in ordering products and how they meet customer demands. Also appearing in the episode is Mr. Douglas Caylor, RN, Director, Moab Regional Recovery Center. Mr. Caylor discusses the creation of the new out-patient program for individuals seeking professional help dealing with substance use disorders. The interview focuses on the kinds of services the Recovery Center offers, extent of substance misuse issues in Moab and Grand County, and the importance of treating mental health and addiction here in our community.

March 5th 2025 Yuriy reflects on the ironic contrasts between his own life and the themes of Neil Young's music, sharing personal anecdotes of imprisonment and military service while expressing gratitude for the support of listeners and Neil Young's planned concert in war-torn Ukraine. And while while they were cutting my hair, I found myself humming. Almost Cut My Hair through Masterpiece by Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, probably the greatest band in rock 'n' roll history. The irony is what the song tells the story of someone who was on the verge of cutting their long hair, the symbol of rebellion and free spirit for the sake of mundane, bourgeois life. But at the last moment, held back. I, on the other hand, have nothing bourgeois about me, yet I keep cutting my hair short. Out of all four musicians in Crosby, steel Smash, and Young, I always liked the last one, Neil Young. The most, the most restless, the most rebellious of them all. I've loved his music since I was a teenager. You know that feeling when a song seems to be telling the story of your own life. That's how it was for me, even when I grew up. When I was arrested by the police in Egypt and sent to prison, Neil Young's Mid East Vacation was playing in my head. By the way, back in 2012, I was arrested on charges of spying for the United States. I took pride in that for years, but now looking at the United States, I think, no, but was not worth going to jail for, even for was few hours, which the police needed to find out that I was really a journalist covering the Tahrir Revolution. At the beginning of a full scale invasion and my military service, I kept recording Youngs Living With War, and when I missed home and my family terribly, his Going Home. And just recently I remember it that the very first thing I bought on my first ever trip to the United States years ago was Neil Young's book, Waging Heavy Piece. I bought it in an airport bookstore right after passing passport control. And the day after my latest haircut, I read in the news that Mr. Young is coming to perform here in Ukraine. This is a real miracle. I don't quite understand how it's going to happen because gathering people in a stadium or a large concert hall is extremely dangerous- we are under constant bombardment. I don't know if I'll be able to attend the concert because I'm in the Army and it's far from certain that I'd get leave- or that there would be even available seats. But... But! The most important thing is that he's at least planning to come. That at the very least, through his plans, he's supporting Ukraine. The only ones, I'm more grateful to when him, are you- my listeners, most of you who go out to rallies for Ukraine, who support our resistance, who make it possible for us sooner or later to finally rocking in a free world.

In all four gospels, it is the faithful women in the company of Jesus who are the first to bear witness to the resurrection. They are sent with simple instructions: Go and Tell. Yet what exactly is this good news of a whole new world that we are to tell? And in what posture are we to go?

This month, for our Great British Mickey Waffle Mid-month show, the team of Wafflers, led by Claire, made some new friends - or as they like to call their own community - ‘Ohana. The team of Matt and Krystle from Married to Disney Addict Podcast and community joined us for a chat that, quite frankly, could have kept going for hours and hours and hours! Claire had joined Matt and Krystle for one of their shows back in December and had a load of fun, so we invited them to join us to waffle about some Disney history, and future. First of all though, as newcomers to our community we extended the warm and fuzzy hug of welcome, known only as the Carousel of Questions. It's been a couple of years since this feature was retired - maybe we should bring it back for new guests? Let us know in the comments if you think we should. After that we chatted about some classic attractions that have long since hung up their offerings to guests, and whether we as a group believe that what has replaced them is better… or worse? Is Frozen Ever After an improvement on Maelstrom? Is Toy Story Land a better experience than the classic MGM Studios Backlot Tour? Could Creations ever be preferable to Mouse Gear? And the one we found the hardest - is Baseline Tap House an adequate replacement for the glory and oasis that was The Writer's Stop? We discuss attractions, restaurants, shopping and even some night-time spectaculars and decide if the newer offerings are a step up, or a step down from the previous inhabitants of that space. It left the team with a very long list that we didn't get round to covering, so let us know if we didn't talk about your favourite and perhaps we can discuss it on a future show?! You can find Married to a Disney Addict at www.marriedtoadisneyaddict.com, and all on all socials @marriedtoadisneyaddict We look forward to welcoming Matt and Krystle back for a future episode.
