On this week's episode of "Tuesday Night Detectives" on Vintage Classic Radio, delve into the thrilling world of classic detective radio dramas. Starting with "The New Adventure of Sherlock Holmes", listeners will be treated to the "Case of the Well-Staged Murder", originally aired on November 16, 1947. In this gripping episode, the indefatigable duo of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, portrayed by Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce respectively, unravel the intricacies of a murder that appears to be the perfect crime. As Holmes applies his formidable powers of deduction, the plot thickens, revealing an ingeniously planned act designed to confound even the keenest observer.Following that, we present "Ellery Queen" in "One Diamond", which first hit the airwaves on May 6, 1948. This episode features the sharp-witted Ellery Queen, a detective who is as adept with his mind as he is with his charm. The story centres around a mysteriously vanished diamond, leading Queen on a chase filled with twists and turns. Together, these episodes offer a nostalgic trip back to the golden age of detective radio. Tune into "Tuesday Night Detectives" for an evening of mystery and masterful storytelling here on Vintage Classic Radio.

Returning, somewhat reluctantly, to her childhood home to rendezvous with her recently bereaved niece, Isabelle Crosland soon becomes entangled in a sinister mystery. This original recording is an audio presentation by Jasper L'Estrange for EnCrypted Horror. “THE CHINESE APPLE” by Marjorie Bowen (1948). IN THIS EPISODE: In 2016, there was something of a folk panic in Yorkshire, northern England, following reported sightings of an eight-foot werewolf with a very human face. It's known as the Beast of Barmston Drain – but most people call him “Old Stinker”. (Old Stinker) *** A man in Louisiana has a magnetic personality. Not for the ladies… but for the paranormal. (Paranormal Magnet Man) *** A truck-driver was not prepared for what he experienced one summer night at a tiny truck stop in the middle of nowhere... hardly the place where one would expect a ghost… if that's what it even was. (Phantom of the Truck Stop) *** No animal had ever made such sounds. Neither the lions of East Africa nor the angry bulls. At times, it sounded like a veritable herd of wild beasts orchestrated by Satan had formed a hellish choir. And that was only a small part of the demonic possession of a girl named Clara. (Demonic Possession In South Africa) *** Want to live on the cheap in Tokyo, Japan? It's easy to do – if you don't mind living with a ghost or two. (Tokyo Ghosts) *** Cryptozoologists are abuzz about recent sightings of a creature seen in the lakes of Connemara in Ireland. The creature is rumored to be up to 30 feet long, with a mane of hair running along its back. Is it a yet undiscovered species of fish? A giant eel? A cousin to the Loch Ness monster in Scotland – or even perhaps a living dinosaur? No one has yet been able to answer the question – but recently monster hunters from around the globe came together in Ireland to try and find answers. (The Giant Eels of Connemara) *** For decades, mountain hikers have been reporting strange things happening on Mount Everest while scaling to the top. Weird events and encounters that could only be described as supernatural. (The Paranormal of Mount Everest) *** High school teacher Pamela Smart fell in love. Unfortunately, she fell in love with a 15-year-old student… and that is only the beginning of this horrible story. (High School Homicide) *** Weirdo family member, Josh Marinkovic, tells an eerie true experience that would shake anyone to the core. (Oh, He's Not Home) *** Weirdo family member Cass tells her story of a disturbing dream, a sick friend, and the temptation to sell her soul in order to save her.
