The Hunt Suburbia Podcast features stories and strategies for scouting and hunting big bucks in suburban areas. Based in Massachusetts, content will be heavy on Northeastern bowhunting, but will feature guests from all over. Topics will range from bowhunting the suburbs to rifle hunting the big woods, to everything in between. You'll enjoy the podcast whether you are a new hunter looking for tips, or a seasoned veteran just looking for content to feed your whitetail addiction. Weekly episodes are published on Sundays, and bonus episodes featuring fresh kill stories can drop at any time throughout the week!

Listeners of Hunt Suburbia Podcast that love the show mention:The Hunt Suburbia Podcast is an incredibly impressive podcast that caters to hunters in the New England area. Hosted by Pat, this podcast not only provides a wealth of useful information and hunting stories but also creates a sense of camaraderie and excitement among listeners. From the catchy intro song to the featured hunters and the content itself, it is evident that Pat puts a lot of effort into producing a high-quality show. With each episode, I am beyond impressed with what Pat is doing and I hope he continues to keep them coming.
One of the best aspects of The Hunt Suburbia Podcast is the amount of knowledge and experience that the guests bring to each episode. As a relatively new hunter, I find myself learning so much from these veterans and their stories. They provide valuable insights and tips that can be applied in real hunting situations. This podcast has helped me feel more prepared and calm when it comes to shooting my first deer within range. Additionally, the discussions about "deer camp" make me want to find a group to go hunting with.
Another great aspect of this podcast is its focus on the New England hunting experience. As someone from Connecticut, I can relate to a lot of what is discussed on the show. The guests often talk about hunting in diverse areas such as big woods or backyards, which resonates with many hunters in this region. It's refreshing to hear conversations that are specific to our local hunting conditions rather than being centered around Midwest hunting like many other podcasts.
While there aren't many negative aspects about The Hunt Suburbia Podcast, one minor drawback could be the inclusion of an intro and exit song in future episodes. Some listeners may prefer a more straightforward approach without these musical accompaniments. However, this is simply a personal preference and does not detract from the overall quality of the podcast.
In conclusion, The Hunt Suburbia Podcast is an exceptional podcast for hunters in New England. It provides a wealth of information, entertaining stories, and a sense of community. Whether you're a novice or an experienced hunter, there is something for everyone to take away from this podcast. I highly recommend it and hope that Pat continues to produce more episodes in the future.

John Eberhart is a self-taught hunter and considers that to be one of the main reasons he does things outside the norm. He attributes his success on the very fact that he wasn't mentored by relatives or friends on old school hunting methods. He learned through trial and error and due to his serious nature, desire to succeed and attention to detail, through the years he's developed tactics and strategies that have equated to consistent success on mature bucks in heavily pressured areas. Mooseman Drew is a controversial newcomer to the Maine moose shed hunting scene. He has gained a good following on social media with many supporters, but he has also made a lot of enemies along the way. Many lifelong Mainers reached out to me asking me to not give Drew a platform on the podcast, with allegations of how he has screwed them over in one way or another, crossed ethical boundaries, and used his social media platforms to engage in unnecessary drama. I am someone who likes to hear people out, and who believes in educating new hunters in the ways of our ancient hunting traditions and I believed having him on would be a great teaching moment for him and others who are just now finding the great joys and rewards that come with being in wild places. Some people allege that he is engaging in spot stealing, he is untrustworthy, and he is letting his obsession with finding antlers overcome his ethics, burning bridges with people who once trusted him and mentored him. Plenty of others don't see it that way, and feel that he has every right to shed hunt the public or publicly accessible (private lands open to anyone) even if someone else brought him there first. It is my hope that this discussion has helped Mooseman Drew understand the ethical boundaries and unwritten rules between hunters and that he will think about ways to feed his obsession without burning bridges and crossing ethical lines. Big Woods Bucks team member Rick Labbe, a descendant of the famous Comanche Indian war leader Quanah Parker, is a legendary big game hunter and one of the best all around hunters in North America today. He lives life to the fullest, loving his family, working hard and hunting and fishing as much as he can. He's shot 7 whitetail bucks grossing over 170 inches, and over 50 bucks that weighed more than 200 lbs (and TWO 300 POUNDERS)! At least 26 of the 200 pounders were taken in the hard to hunt Northeast by tracking. He's gone a perfect 20 for 20 with his bull elk tags, harvesting mostly mature 6x6's and has taken 8 bull moose, 18 black bear (with 3 over 500 lbs!) a grizzly bear, more than 200 bobcats, hundreds of coyotes, 3 mountain lions, a wolf, and countless North American game. When he hunts the Northeast, he's partial to the ancient art of tracking, perhaps in part due to his Indian ancestry. He also enjoys archery hunting, spot and stalking, using his muzzleloader and running hounds. He's a great backcountry snowmobiler, he rides horseback, and he can fix most anything that breaks down. Jim Massett has been hunting the vast Adirondacks in New York since the 1950's, and has taken over 100 mature bucks in his lifetime, most of them by tracking. He carried out many of his bucks by draping them over his shoulders and hauling them on his sturdy 130 pound frame rather than dragging. But the thing that struck me the most, even overshadowing his hunting accolades is the greatness of his character. Jim is a humble man of congeniality, ever willing to downplay his legend to raise up his peers. He's still in better shape than most men 15 years younger and full of life at 86 years old -- and sharper, too! After our recorded conversation about deer hunting and over a glass of wine at his dinner table, we talked about all aspects of life! We laughed a whole lot. It was a pleasure to get to know him and share that time with him, and I'm hoping many people will get to have a little bit of that experience with Jim at Huntstock this year. Jim's ears perk up and thirst to hear other people's stories which can be hard to find these days. See Jim at Huntstock this year, August 11-13th at Wildwood Farm in Westminster, MA. A dairy farmer by trade with around 1,500 head of cattle, Joe DiNitto doesn't get a lot of time to hunt, so he chooses to save his hunting for when the snow flies when he can find a fresh track of a big buck and follow it to a conclusion. Living near the vast 5,000 square mile Adirondack Park, with low deer densities and tough terrain, he's been able to consistently kill 6 year old age class bucks in one of the toughest places to do so. Ron "Bushey" Boucher was one of 6 panel scorers from Boone & Crockett to score and certify the Milo Hanson buck as the World Record Typical Whitetail in 1993. That started a long friendship with Milo where he accompanied Milo traveling the country to hunting shows. Ron tells the story from the beginning, recalling the fun times he had with Milo. Then comes the Johnny King buck, which many believed would usurp the Hanson buck as the new World Record Typical Whitetail. Boone & Crockett made a controversial ruling, declaring the King buck as a non-typical. Outspoken and acting on integrity, measuring the buck as the Boone & Crockett rule book indicated at the time, Ron measured the Johnny King Buck 5 years after it was killed, reaching a score that would still beat the Milo Hanson buck by 1/8 of an inch, even after 5 years of drying. As a result, his relationship with Milo Hanson came to an end and Boone & Crockett fired him. In this podcast Ron talks about it all. Ron hopes to clear the air on the controversy and patch up his friendship with Milo Hanson.
