The Turkey Season Podcast Pack your TSS and leave your ego at home—this one's a doozy. This week, Paul Campbell welcomes turkey hunting Georgia native Bruce Hall to the show for a no-holds-barred, laugh-out-loud therapy session on everything from missing birds at 12 yards (multiple times... in one day), to wandering the swamps of Florida with a .410 and a healthy fear of Skinwalkers. Bruce talks about chasing Osceolas in the muck, why Florida turkeys might be immortal, and how wild turkey hunting is less a hobby and more a decades-long emotional rollercoaster. The two swap horror stories of blown opportunities, accidental doubles, and their favorite kind of bird—the quiet one that comes in drumming at 15 steps while you're trying not to pass out. Today on The Free Outside Podcast, I'm joined by the legendary Cam Hanes—bowhunter, ultrarunner, lifter of heavy things, and yes, friend of Joe Rogan. We dive into everything from Courtney Dauwalter's mountain mindset to how Disneyland became a tactical hunting joke with a laser pointer (thanks, Joe).Cam shares his thoughts on the growing influencer side of trail running, Western States carnage, public lands politics, and what he really thinks about ultrarunning's obsession with science and splits. We talk about grit, quitting, suffering, and why lifting weights is somehow less cool than ultrarunning. Plus: what hunters and trail runners can learn from each other, and why Cam still calls himself an outsider in this space. If you're into raw takes, wild stories, and the occasional Keep Hoeing joke—this one's for you. From the Taylor Swift of Ultrarunning, meet Cam Hanes!
After nearly three weeks away from his farms, Todd returns to check on the food plots, water holes, and trail cams—only to be greeted by the smell of something dead... and a whole lot of growth (some good, some not so much). Whether you're prepping your own land or just love seeing behind the scenes of whitetail habitat work, this one's full of practical advice and honest results.
In this episode of Becoming a Bowhunter, Matty sits down with 21-year-old Logan Hawker — a young bowhunter who's quickly earning his stripes through persistence, hard-earned lessons, and a deep respect for the hunt. Logan first got into bowhunting thanks to a mad-keen neighbor, and even managed to pull his rifle-hunting dad over to the dark side (aka stick and string). These days, he's putting in 20–30 km days chasing boars in the mountains. This one's full of laughs, insight, and the kind of grounded stories every hunter can relate to. Show topics: Big Buck Down: The play-by-play on Logan's big 2025 fallow buck — a calculated stalk and clean kill after years of chasing deer.Chasing Big Mountain Boars: Logan's approach to boar hunting during the rut, including the grind of long walks and thick country.Stick Bows: How a short stint with a Black Widow traditional bow sharpened his skills and made him a better all-round hunter.Surround Yourself with Good Hunting Buddies: Why learning from experienced hunters like Jas Ritchie has been a huge upgrade for Logan's hunting success. The Unlucky Barbed Wire Roll: That one time low light, determination, and a very pig-like silhouette led to the most unforgettibly, hilarious story.. When I told my wife I was interviewing Chef Ara Zada...she was like..."I follow him!""He is great!" She never says that about me. I guess I need to learn how to make "fusion"cuisine with Mediterranean food!. Chef Ara Zada has a storied career and now turned food influencer. We had a blast together. Ara Zada is the kind of guest who makes you wish your phone had a “smell-o-vision” app—and by the end of this episode, you'll know why. Step into the kitchen-turned-studio where Ara, chef, content creator, and avid bow hunter, cooks up much more than what's on the plate. You'll discover what happens when the authenticity of Armenian-Egyptian family recipes gets filtered through French culinary training and the relentless demands of social media stardom. Ara dissects with candor the creative (and literal) balancing act behind daily content creation, sharing how his brand blossomed from a commitment to consistency, pressure, and staying “on message” while still keeping things decidedly fun. Beyond that, you'll hear firsthand how the nostalgia of food can collapse decades in a single bite—how a dish, made with the right memory and technique, can bring both chef and eater “back home.” There are surprising lessons too—from the truth about hacking legacy dishes (hint: your grandma may have had more time on her hands than you do) to honoring every part of an animal in sustainable, hands-on cuisine. Paul and Ara delve into why culinary traditions resist—or embrace—modernization, how taste buds evolve, and why memory and flavor are inseparable companions. You'll walk away with an intimate look at crafting a culinary career in the digital age, the importance of staying curious and genuine, and why giving someone a hot plate of food is still one of the best ways to connect. Whether you're here for the food nostalgia, the mindset behind a thousand viral videos, or inspiration for tomorrow's dinner, this episode promises to feed your curiosity—and maybe remind you of your own family table. ✅ What does it take to turn food memories into culinary fame? ✅ Chef, content creator, and bow hunter Ara Zada spills his secrets on building a mouthwatering brand, going from home-cooked classics to viral foodie stardom. ✅ Host Paul Kalemkiarian takes you behind the scenes on Wine Talks as they dive into food, culture, content creation, and why authentic storytelling wins in the kitchen (and online). ✅ Get ready to learn, laugh, and feel hungry—this episode is pure flavor and heart. Tune in to hear how nostalgia and innovation can launch your next delicious adventure! #WineTalksPodcast #AraZada #PaulKalemkiarian #winepodcast #winetalks #winelover #winetasting #foodandwine #armataste #arazada #culinaryinspiration #armeniancuisine #fusionfood #foodmemories #cookbook #contentcreator #socialmediaforchefs #chefslife #wineculture #pasowine #bowhunting #foodstylist #familytraditions
Something's not right in Todd's bean plot… In this episode, we hit the field to investigate why one of the soybean plots is looking rough while corn is thriving just yards away. From crusted soil to possible grub damage, we break down what went wrong — and whether it's worth replanting. Along the way, we take a tour of developing prairie habitat, check on screening corn from last season, and evaluate how other food plots are shaping up heading into summer. With expert advice from John from FS, we make the call: replant or let it ride?

In this episode of The Green Way Outdoors Podcast, we break down proposed legislation that would allow for the sale of federal public lands. We talk about why this could be a major blow, not just to hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, but to wildlife conservation as well. Selling off public lands threatens critical animal habitat, disrupts migration patterns, and puts species at risk. The team picked up the new 2025 Tracker Grizzly 1650 T Prairie Wings Edition Duck boat! We talk about features and using the boat this coming Duck season. Then we kick off part one of our South Africa trip. We talk about the long flight, how we were treated as tourists, and what it was like navigating local stores to gather supplies. We filled SCI Blue Bags with candy, coloring books, toothbrushes, and children's Bibles and delivered them to a school for kids aged 3 to 5. Their reaction was humbling and unforgettable. In this episode, we revisit a massive habitat project started nearly ten years ago—including apple orchards, pine corridors, and wildlife shrubs. You'll get a full walk-through of what worked, what didn't, and what we learned along the way. From deer damage and soil type struggles to successful corridors and explosive shrub growth, this is a raw look at the long game of habitat improvement. We also revisit a recent planting to check on progress, troubleshoot problems, and see if our efforts are really paying off—or if we're just feeding the local rabbits

In this episode of the Truth From The Stand podcast, I sat down with Chad Sylvester for a no-BS conversation about the real stuff—missed chances, pressure-packed decisions, and why some of our best lessons come from the hunts that don't end with a grip-and-grin - the harsh truths of bowhunting. We dig into the mental side of the game—why confidence matters, how deer behavior can turn on a dime, and why there's no such thing as a universal strategy. Chad and I talk abou the myth of the perfect plan, and why understanding wind is probably more important than whatever new gadget you just bought. We also get into how gear helps—but only if you know how to actually use it—and how experience in the field, not the checkout cart, leads to consistent success. Whether it's learning how to draw on a cagey buck or deciding when to back out, this one's full of the gritty, nuanced reality of chasing mature deer. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM PODCAST 444 Hunting success hinges on tough decisions made under pressure—not perfect conditions. Missed opportunities often teach more than punched tags. Confidence and adaptability are built through uncomfortable, real-world hunts. Wind mapping and understanding deer behavior are non-negotiables for chasing mature bucks. There's no magic formula—developing a personal skillset is key. Gear helps, but only if you've earned the know-how to use it well. Born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, Chad Stillman was introduced to sports and the outdoors at a young age. Growing up, if you couldn't find him on the soccer or football field, chances are he was in the woods or on the water. Those two passions would lead to a stint as a semi-pro kicker for the Racine Raiders and a cameraman for Bowhunting.com. By 22 years old, he was fresh out a college, a homeowner and embarking on his lifelong dream of working in law enforcement. Quickly moving up in the ranks, he received a promotion to the SWAT Team and ultimately settled in as an FBI Task Force Investigator. To warn our audience, this isn't an easy conversation to listen to as Chad takes us on the emotional journey of his story. Struggling at times to share it here, he details the events of January 17, 2018, a day that changed his life and the lives of others forever. 7 years later and battling with PTSD from the events of that evening, he gives credit to time in the outdoors, the support of friends and family, but most notably his faith, for sustaining him when the pressures of life are too much. www.taurususa.com www.cva.com www.himtnjerky.com www.murrelloptics.com www.jumpmedic.com www.christianoutdoors.org www.citrusafe.com www.elimishieldhunt.com
