The two move onto a number of up-arrow Blue Jays prospects, including recent first rounders shortstop Arjun Nimmala and righthander Trey Yesavage. After that the two dig into a mixed bag for the Rays, with good starts from 1B Xavier Isaac, OF Theo Gillen and others but some lingering questions with SS Carson Williams and INF Brayden Taylor.–Time Stamps(0:00) Intro(5:30) Jacob Misiorowski(19:00) Arjun Nimmala(26:30) Trey Yesavage(36:00) Johnny King(39:00) Rays(40:00) Carson Williams(44:00) Brayden Taylor(48:00) Xavier Isaac(55:00) Chandler Simpson, Tre Morgan(57:30) Theo Gillen, Brailer Guerrero, (1:03:30) Santiago Suarez, Jose UrbinaDo you have a question or feedback for the show? Deer hunting is probably the number one hunting sport in the world. In the 2021/2022 season alone, more than 6 million deer were harvested in the United States. Most of those deer were never scored and a small percentage of them were scored and entered into a record book of some kind. Today, we'll revisit a story of a world record whitetail buck that was taken in 2006 in Grant County, Wisconsin. We will hear from the mouth of the lucky hunter who was lucky enough to pull the trigger and down the massive buck. Then we'll hear how that buck became one of the most important things in another man's life and how it caused strife in his life before it finally pointed him to Jesus Christ.

If you've heard of the Johnny King Buck, you know that he was denied the No. 1 world-record typical title due to a Boone & Crockett scorer deeming the right G-3 as an abnormal point, despite numerous other scorers agreeing the rack was a 6x6 typical grossing more than 215 inches. In this podcast, we get on the phone with Johnny King to discuss the day he bagged this massive buck almost 20 years ago, what happened during the scoring process, and why the biggest typical ever lost a spot in the record books.

He hasn't homered as a Met yet, and Jonathan Araúz went 0-for-3 yesterday to fall from .333 to .167 (DJ Stewart now has a .259-.256 lead on Brandon Nimmo for active roster batting average, regardless of plate appearance totals), but let's go ahead and head into the weekend with Araúz's home run chain.* Jonathan Araúz hit his first home run off Josh Tomlin, 9/27/20* Josh Tomlin gave up his first home run to José Molina, 7/31/10* José Molina hit his first home run off Rocky Biddle, 5/10/01* Rocky Biddle gave up his first home run to Joe Oliver, 8/10/00* Joe Oliver hit his first home run off Ricky Horton, 8/18/89* Ricky Horton gave up his first home run to Jeffrey Leonard, 4/7/84* Jeffrey Leonard hit his first home run off Pete Falcone, 4/25/80* Pete Falcone gave up his first home run to Vic Correll, 4/13/75* Vic Correll hit his first home run off Randy Moffitt, 7/31/74* Randy Moffitt gave up his first home run to Garry Jestadt, 6/25/72* Garry Jestadt hit his first home run off Mike Torrez, 5/14/72* Mike Torrez gave up his first home run to Adolfo Phillips, 4/19/68* Adolfo Phillips hit his first home run off Barney Schultz, 9/6/65* Barney Schultz gave up his first home run to Ernie Banks, 4/16/55* Ernie Banks hit his first home run off Gerry Staley, 9/20/53* Gerry Staley gave up his first home run to Sid Gordon, 7/11/47* Sid Gordon hit his first home run off Jim Tobin, 4/27/43* Jim Tobin gave up his first home run to Dizzy Dean, 8/22/37* Dizzy Dean hit his first home run off Ed Brandt, 7/31/32* Ed Brandt gave up his first home run to Andy Reese, 4/19/28* Andy Reese hit his first home run off Bill Sherdel, 6/19/27* Bill Sherdel gave up his first home run to Heinie Groh, 6/22/18* Heinie Groh hit his first home run off Frank Allen, 7/28/13* Frank Allen gave up his first home run to Owen Wilson, 7/15/12* Owen Wilson hit his first home run off Johnny Lush, 4/23/08* Johnny Lush gave up his first home run to Johnny King, 5/18/06* Johnny King hit his first home run off Ed Poole, 4/29/03* Ed Poole gave up his first home run to Elmer Flick, 5/16/01* Elmer Flick hit his first home run off Red Ehret, 6/1/98* Red Ehret gave up his first home run to Billy Shindle, 7/7/88This was the first home run allowed by Ehret, pitching for the Kansas City Cowboys in the American Association against Shindle and the Baltimore Orioles. Ehret was sold after the season to the Louisville Colonels for $500, and stayed there for three years. In the 1890 proto-World Series against the Brooklyn Bridegrooms, Ehret pitched two complete games, winning both, and he closed out Louisville's other win in the series, which went down as a 3-3-1 tie. Ehret also was 3-for-7 with a triple in the series, but the real hitting stars were Germany Smith with two triples and seven runs batted in for Brooklyn, and Chicken Wolf, who knocked in eight of Louisville's 32 runs in the series, while going 9-for-25 with four extra-base hits and four more runs scored.Chicken Wolf's given name was William Van Winkle Wolf, and he led the American Association that year with 197 hits, 260 total bases, and a .363 average. He was Louisville's all-time leader in games played, with 1,193, and collected 1,437 hits to lead the franchise, as well as 109 triples and 591 RBI.Ehret didn't stick around that long. In 1892, he joined the National League's Pittsburgh Pirates, and in 1893 led the league with four shutouts — and 23 hit batsmen. He was traded to St. Louis after the 1894 season, and on to Cincinnati a year later. Finally, Ehret was dealt back to Louisville before the 1898 season, but the real prize for the Colonels in that deal was Billy Hoy, the deaf player who in his age 36 and 37 seasons racked up 29 triples and scored 221 runs. Hoy was previously a tangent at the end of the Jeff McNeil home run chain, so that's fun. More fun than the Mets are having. This is a public episode. Ron "Bushey" Boucher was one of 6 panel scorers from Boone & Crockett to score and certify the Milo Hanson buck as the World Record Typical Whitetail in 1993. That started a long friendship with Milo where he accompanied Milo traveling the country to hunting shows. Ron tells the story from the beginning, recalling the fun times he had with Milo. Then comes the Johnny King buck, which many believed would usurp the Hanson buck as the new World Record Typical Whitetail. Boone & Crockett made a controversial ruling, declaring the King buck as a non-typical. Outspoken and acting on integrity, measuring the buck as the Boone & Crockett rule book indicated at the time, Ron measured the Johnny King Buck 5 years after it was killed, reaching a score that would still beat the Milo Hanson buck by 1/8 of an inch, even after 5 years of drying. As a result, his relationship with Milo Hanson came to an end and Boone & Crockett fired him. In this podcast Ron talks about it all. Ron hopes to clear the air on the controversy and patch up his friendship with Milo Hanson. Meet Ron and many more legendary hunters at Huntstock this August 11th, 12th, and 13th at Wildwood Farm in Westminster, MA. It's back! Yes, that's right, the start of a new series of FANS is here, and what a start it is as Sachin is joined by the brilliant BBC commentator Steve Wilson for a chat about Tranmere Rovers. Steve is in typically articulate and engaging form as he discusses the club he was born to support having grown up in the shadow of Prenton Park – Tranmere's ground and, as Steve makes clear, one that is NOT in Liverpool. His first trip there was in January 1975 and there are memories of the sights, sounds and smells of the occasion – a Third Division game against Grimsby that, as was typical of following Tranmere at the time, took place on a Friday night. Steve was hooked and about to embark on a journey of extreme highs and lows. There have been financial difficulties and multiple relegations to contend with as a ‘Trannie' fan during the past 40 years or so but also the glorious, never-to-be-forgotten reigns of Johnny King and John Aldridge. Steve speaks with great warmth about the success both men brought to Tranmere as well as with great humour about his personal interactions with each of them. His story about interviewing Aldridge for Football Focus is especially wonderful. Speaking of ‘the Aldridge Years', Steve also reflects on the three iconic matches Tranmere played under their former player-manager in the early noughties, and in particular the 4-3 victory over Southampton in February 2001. Steve was at Prenton Park that night commentating for BBC Five Live and speaks with fascinating insight and honesty about the experience. Finally, there is a chat about modern-day Tranmere and how the club appears to be in good hands thanks to the presence of two former players in Mark Palios and Micky Mellon. And speaking of former players, Steve also talks through his all-time Tranmere XI, which includes a place for one of his BBC colleagues. And no, it's not Dan Walker. So download, listen and love. And after you have, please Rate and Review. It would mean a lot. Cheers!

If we think about the problem that men currently face in society, what would it be? According to Johnny King's opinion, he thinks of the unhealed wounds caused by parents, especially the father figure in our lives. After a year of coaching, he concluded that we must all begin to heal our wounds to enjoy a new life where peace, happiness, and balance rule our life and become the king of our kingdom. Johnny's story is interesting since after hating his father for many years, a confession changed everything and gave a 180-degree turn in their relationship, making him his best friend. A story that will make us understand that forgiveness is the best way to heal. On this episode, you will hear Ray De La Nuez be interviewed by author, speaker and host of the Becoming Kings Podcast, Johnny King. Here's the description from Johnny King himself: What is one thing you hold onto every day? If all else fails, what can you cling to that serves as your beacon to follow? Many of us call this our “why.” With the shifting paradigm of masculinity, men need direction and something valuable they can uphold on a daily basis. This week's guest, Ray De La Nuez, @raydelanuez calls this “Commander's Intent.” An active duty Marine Corps Officer, Ray has spent over a decade assessing combat situations on the ground helping his fellow marines understand Commander's Intent. His guiding principle? At the end of the day, what absolutely needs to happen and how can that be achieved? Through his lived experience, he has identified Commander's Intent as the first step to establishing the ground rules for a mission, your life, or any other situation that may occur. All of this wasn't so clear for Ray. Despite having a successful marriage, career, and family life, Ray still couldn't grapple with his complicated relationship with his father and childhood. An immigrant from the Dominican Republic, Ray was left searching for answers as to why he still felt unfulfilled. It was only when he identified his own Commander's Intent that he began to feel more confident and able to move forward. On this episode of Becoming Kings, we explore how Ray's experiences in the Marine Corps have shaped who he is today, how grit plays a role in every part of our lives, and how we can all identify our “why.” Schedule your FREE 1:1 Coaching Call HERE! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/becomingmen/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/becomingmen/support

Self-expression is hard for men. There are so many unwritten rules that govern how we think we need to behave, like DON'T ask for help, directions, or read an instruction manual. We as men think we need to be all-knowing and show no weakness but it's just NOT true. We need to normalize communication of our true selves so we are not holding onto masks that hide who we really are.

I have recently had personal experience of the work of the NHS....my wife required care in The Liverpool Women's Hospital after an operation...I was totally humbled by the kindness and dedication of the staff...selfless first class care and they ask nothing in return...they are Earth Angels....I've always had the greatest of respect for our doctors and nurses but when you are actually involved you see them in a new light....and it was my pleasure to organise a donation to their mums and babies section of £2000 on behalf of The Cheshire Cats which is our weekly rock and roll fundraisers organisation...I cannot praise them enough...thank heaven for the NHS. 2.I watched The Eurovision which was three hours out of my life I won't get back....it was pretty bad and makes you wonder what sort of music gives these countries pleasure because it's beyond me.....and surprise surprise we came third from bottom...why do we bother?....when that idiot jumped up on the stage our girl should have smacked him in the teeth with the mike...that would have made great TV and made her famous...but she did well......in future we should have Anthony Joshua singing our song and hope someone tries to grab the mike off him...now THAT would be worth watching...I remember back in the day when The Stones were on stage doing a concert and some dope came running on to the stage and Keith Richard undid his guitar strap and whacked this guy with his Les Paul as he ran past and was diverted into the crowd...so funny....Keith later said he didn't know whether he was friend or foe and couldn't take the chance. 3.There wouldn't happen to be a royal wedding this week would there?....Off we go....Meghan this and Meghan that...and her poor old dad has come in for it...for trying to make a few bob out of the press...HAS HE NEVER HEARD OF TREASON!!....it really is pathetic...I often wonder whether the girl actually knows what she's letting herself in for.....everybody is jumping in on the bandwagon with their opinions.....simply proving that we are indeed a nation of sheep....I like Harry but he is is beginning to look a bit punch drunk with it all...if I was him I'd do a Prince Albert. 4.I watched a programme on The Monkees....I couldn't STAND them at the time...I thought the programmes they made were really bad ...but I thought the songs were good....the programme showed how they were actors playing the parts of a beat group but suddenly believing they were one....however the producers of the records wouldn't let them play on them...because they weren't good enough which virtually finished them off in the end.....a record is something that has to be right as it is there forever...and time is money in the studio...thus you have session musicians who get it right in one go.....with live performances mistakes are gone instantly...but not on a record....but The Monkees couldn't see this....I remember their manager explaining how he had a huge argument with them over a song he had for them called "Sugar Sugar"....he ended up ripping up their contract and inventing a cartoon group called The Archies...made the record....which sold 15 million.....no doubt he rested his case. 5. The football season is over and the fans can have a rest from throwing missiles at the opposition coaches as they arrive at the ground....and there have been major celebrations in Manchester...HOWEVER...there has been celebrations on Wirral....Tranmere Rovers are back in the football league so I couldn't resist sending you this song..."We Are The Rovers" which I was asked to write for them around 1978 when they also won their league....this was the demo which was to be used in the studio for the players to learn and sing....however none of them could sing so this demo became the final job.....I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny King at his house and discussing the song....the first time I ever drank whiskey....just about found the front door on the way out....the song was played at the ground at home games and on the coach at away games for several years.

Are you guys using Merch Lister Pro? If so, this is going to be an exciting episode as the boy's interview, Johnny King, the creator of MLP. And if you're not using MLP, then you will after this episode. If you follow the podcast, you know Yong had a difficult time filling up his slots because he's a one-man operation. However, Yong gives credit to Johnny and MLP as the primary reason why he was able to scale so fast from the 2k tier to the 4k tier in a matter of months. Yong spoke very highly of MLP and invited Johnny to be on the show. Johnny talks about why he created MLP. He talks about how he's also a one-man operation and how the uploading process on Merch is tedious. He wanted to streamline the uploading process, and with that he created MLP. MLP is no longer available for a one-time price. It is now available as a monthly subscription, but even then it is worth every penny at $9.97. It will speed up your uploading process and save you some serious time. If there is one tool you need for your Merch by Amazon business, then it's the Merch Lister Pro. MLP isn't just a one-time buy it and forget it tool. Johnny continues to improve it, and the support is exceptional. If you ever have questions or concerns, Johnny is quick to respond. Welcome to North America CR Radio. In this episode, we have with us Andrew Peterson, Deidre Yiu and Johnny King, discussing the Carbon Hackathon recently hosted by Capgemini. Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
This episode marks exactly ten years of podcasting for me. It is bitter sweet as I ponder where I go from here. I get some help from going back to episode 187 where I got the chance to be on the red carpet in Hollywood with some pro-gun stars at a fundraiser for the City of Hope. You'll hear my thoughts then which came out in 2007. You'll hear my conversations with actors Keith David, Ernie Hudson, and Patrick Kilpatrick along with some products from vendors at the event. There is even a retro ad with the actual voice of the founder of CrossBreed Holsters. PSA for the http://MarylandShallIssue.org meeting coming in December. Johnny King introduces me to 3-gun competition. Michael J. Woodland on rifle slings because I asked him. Thank you for joining me on this journey. http://patreon.com/blackmanwithagun http://uscca.blackmanwithagun.com crossbreedholsters.com
Ben Harrison from the Tranmere Rovers Supporters Trust recalls a famous win over Grimsby that helped Johnny King's side win promotion
Fatback Band - Backstrockin' Edit By Petko Turner The Fatback Band (later, simply Fatback) is an American funk and disco band. Most popular in the 1970s and 1980s, The Fatback Band is most known for their R&B hits, "(Do The) Spanish Hustle", "I Like Girls", "Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)", "Backstrokin'" and "I Found Lovin". Their 1979 single "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is sometimes considered the first hip hop single. Formed in New York City in 1970, The Fatback Band was the concept of Bill Curtis, an experienced session drummer, inspired to merge the "fatback" jazz beat of New Orleans into a funk band. In addition to Curtis, the band's initial line-up included guitarist Johnny King, bassist Johnny Flippin, trumpet player George Williams, saxophonist Earl Shelton, flautist George Adams, and keyboardist Gerry Thomas. The band specialized in playing "street funk". The group also later included conga player Wayne Woolford, vocalists Jayne and Gerry, Deborah Cooper saxophonist Fred Demerey, guitarist Louis Wright and George Victory. The Fatback Band signed to Perception Records and had a hit single that summer with "Street Dance". The single reached the Top 30 on the US Billboard R&B chart, but failed to cross over to the pop chart, a pattern the group would follow for the rest of their career. The band released the albums Let's Do It Again, People Music, and Feel My Soul before signing to Event Records in 1974. In the mid-1970s, the band incorporated jazz elements and moved more towards a disco sound resulting in the singles, "Keep On Steppin'", "Yum, Yum (Give Me Some)", and "(Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop". The singles proved popular in dance clubs, but did not do as well on R&B chart until the spring of 1976 when "(Do The) Spanish Hustle" came close to the Top Ten. "(Are You Ready) Do The Bus Stop" birthed the development of line dancing.[citation needed] Now recording for Spring/Polydor, the group continued with the singles, "Party Time", "The Booty", and "Double Dutch". Late 1977 brought a name change to Fatback, and in 1978 they found their first Top Ten single with "I Like Girls". The song "King Tim III (Personality Jock)" is often considered to be the first commercially released rap single, having shipped just a week before The Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" in October 1979.[2] In 1980, Fatback had a pair of their biggest hits with "Gotta Get My Hands On Some (Money)" and "Backstrokin'". Also finding the charts in the 1980s were "Take It Any Way You Can't It", "I Found Lovin'", and "Spread Love", with singer Evelyn Thomas, in 1985. Whilst American pop success proved elusive, the group made regular appearances in the UK Singles Chart, including the Top Ten twice with "(Do The) Spanish Hustle" and "I Found Lovin'".[3] Keyboardist Gerry Thomas was simultaneously a member of The Jimmy Castor Bunch, so the band elected to remain close to the New York area instead of extensive touring. They had substantial success in South America, especially in Brazil (with "Money", and "Backstrokin'").
The song this week is a tribute to Johnny King…the most successful manager of Tranmere Rovers…who sadly died this week. wrote the song in the late seventies when he was manager…with the idea of getting the players to record it…however there weren’t many of the lads who could sing in tune so my version…which was originally the demo…was put out and it was played over the speakers at the home games and on the coaches for the away game……I had the pleasure of visiting Johnny at his home…up until then I had sampled the odd whisky…when I left his house I had sampled a lot more…great guy..sad loss….there is a statue of him outside the ground. On the football front Leicester City are still top of the league and virtually everyone is supporting them….even inJapan…they had a programme on TV where they had sold out of Leicester football shirts in some town in the Far East…..it’s always nice to see the underdog coming through…I hope they win the premiership….and England are in the final of the 20/20 cricket world cup…the slogging one…much better than the drawn out 5– dayers…here we go…here we go…here we go. On the entertainment front Jeremy Kyle has replaced Piers Morgan on the morning breakfast news show….and I hate to admit it but he is very good…much better than Piers…which isn’t hard….I’m amazed Ant and Dec aren’t on there…. And we have had the sad news of the passing away of the great Ronnie Corbett…to me he was a comedy genius and together with Ronnie Barker produced some of the best comedy ever…those were the years when comedy was FUNNY unlike today…they have been showing some of his classic sketches which never date. And also Brian Conley is back in the afternoon with special guests who recall their favourite TV….I am a big fan o fBrian Conley..he is a huge talent which seems to go un-noticed. There has been a programme about our Queen at 90….it wasn’t very exciting as it was basically clips we’ve seen before…it simply displays the ridiculous pomp and ceremony surrounding various events…even the making sure that knives and forks are EXACTLY in the right place at Palace functions…and how much does all this nonsense cost?….I’m sure the homeless are delighted for them. .And finally….our southern shores have been battered by storms of late…100 mph gales…caused by “Storm Katie”….but it is a strange situation as we in the North West got away scot free…missed us completely which makes a change….no doubt the blame will rest firmly on global warming or diesel cars….as SOMETHING has to be blamed.

We covered the second part of this amazing tale in Episode 42 (LISTEN HERE), and now, we're covering first part of the story in Episode 52 (kinda like the Star Wars). This time Johnny King, the man that shot the King Buck, Buckmaster's #1 Whitetail, joins us in a play by play morning that Johnny harvested the Johnny King Buck. The story continues though as we get into the controversy behind buck and all of the events that's happened since. It's a great whitetail story about a legendary Wisconsin whitetail told by a very humble deer hunter, Johnny King. Step inside the world of the Johnny King Buck, recognized by Buckmasters and the Northeast Big Buck Club at the #1 All Time World Record Typical/Perfect Whitetail. Boone and Crockett has not recognized the King Buck as the world record, keeping the Hanson buck at the current #1 Typical World Record Whiteail Buck. But that's just where the story begins. Jay Fish purchased the buck off of Johnny King in a pursuit to make it Boone and Crockett's #1. Why? We'll let Jay explain. Listen in as Jay Fish and Ron Boucher take us on on a journey starting back in 2006 when Johnny King first shot the buck in Wisconsin, to his trek to Missoula, Montana and Boone and Crockett Headquarters, to where the record stands today, to where he wants to take it. The episode has the full story as told by Jay Fish himself.
