This week we are back to recap all the important parts of the first 3 episodes of MTV's The Challenge All Stars 5: Rivals. We are back this season with a whole new recap format and we hope this leaves more room for you, as the listener, to get involved with our recaps and social media content. We are also hoping that changing up our format will bring a freshness to your ears and our minds. Kicking things off we catch up for about 5 minutes and then Rick explains our new format, how it's going to work and how you (the listener) can get involved! We start the recap around 8 minutes in with our first segment where we debate the best and worth Rival pairings and how we are feeling about co-ed teams playing against non-co-ed teams. Around 26 minutes we move into Segment 2 and discuss the opening daily challenge on episode 1 and whether or not it was a good way to open a Rivals themed season. For segment 3 we move into episode 2 and discuss the daily challenge including which teams shocked us the most, whether or not this is the worst daily in history and should there be guaranteed incentive to come in first place mixed with a penalty of some sort for coming in last? From there we move on to segment 4 where we discuss the first eliminaton of the season with Adam and Steve VS Beth and Jonna in a recreated elimination we first saw Bananas and Theo compete in on The Challenge 40, with minor adjustments. Then we move into the Sylvia VS Kellyanne fight that closed out episode 2 and discuss who was in the wrong (if anyone), our thoughts on the dogs vs kids discussion and we also spill some tea from Frank's IG Live right after episode 3. Finally for our last few segments, we break down episode 3 starting with the daily challenge and whether or not the obstacle course was difficult enough, how we felt about the second elimination of the season with Adam and Steve taking out Sylvia and Kellyanne in a strength based elimination and of course, we had to debate the Ashley Mitchell VS Aneesa argument that was given to us at the end of episode 3 including how we think Aneesa would have handled the situation if the roles were reversed. This week we break right into the episode with a couple of small discussions around how we are feeling about the hookups this season, our episode grades, Jenny and Aneesa's conversation and of course the closure on Josh and Tori's feud. Then we break into the daily and discuss everything from the silly armbands to questioning why it's necessary to put these Challengers in physical danger for the show to be good? We break down a few of the questions including one that we felt was a bit unfair as The Challenge has never given official titles for winner formats. By this time Kyland joins us and breaks down some things we didn't see in the edit and discusses why it was actually a positive to have an odd number of players in this daily, and did we see all of the sudden death round? Next we break into the bar scenes with Jordan coaching Nia on how to suck up to Bananas and in turn, Bananas refusing to stalemate for Derrick and Derrick drawing up battle plans in an attempt to save Era 1 from going into cardiac arrest. We also break down the odd Era 2 team meeting, were the living conditions as bad as people were saying and why is it smarter to keep Jordan and Nia on your good side at this point of the game? Finally we turn the tables over to Kyland fully and allow him to recount step by step exactly what happened in the Horacio VS Derrick Kosinski elimination including things we weren't shown and he even includes his own assessment of what happened and how he feels about the whole situation. Before he takes off he gives a bit of backstory on how he felt when Josh revoked his act of volunteering once it came time for the elimination winners to pick new targets. Next we break into recapping episode 1 and we start off with some discussion topics like TJ's stats, whether or not the cast is too big, how we felt about the commercial trick, whether or not episode 0 and episode 1 truly needed to be separated and did the cast really arrive in that shipping container? We weren't sure if we were going to release this episode to start with so that delayed us a bit and once we decided to release it, it's just been a string of problems since the start. That being said, on this episode Rick, Corrina, Tony, Katie and Alexis get together to *kind of* talk about The Challenge All Stars 4 episode 5 titled "The Way You Make Me Steal". We had a tough time staying on track during this episode and ended up BSing for half the episode and then casually chatting about the episode for the other half.
