At The Secret Life of Cookies we know that kitchens are the heart of the home. They’re where families come together, where food comes from and where some of the best conversations take place. Kitchens are where the power is (even nasty President Jackson with his “kitchen cabinet” thought so), and where the baked goods are, which is why Marissa Rothkopf, the host, spends so much time in the kitchen. On The Secret Life of Cookies we will bring you into those conversations with some smart, interesting people who like to cook and have something to say. Pull up a chair up at our kitchen table, and join us as we cook and discuss the important issues of today.    Marissa Rothkopf is a professionally trained chef and food writer who has done everything from restaurant reviews for the New York Times to writing a column on kitchen gadgets for Newsweek. She teaches journalism at Montclair State University and gets nervous when asked to make custard. The Secret Life Of Cookies podcast is an absolute joy to listen to. Hosted by Marissa, this podcast combines the art of baking with insightful conversations and commentary on a wide range of topics. Marissa's down-to-earth and funny personality shines through in every episode, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for listeners. Each episode features great guests who bring their expertise and personal experiences to the table, while Marissa gracefully guides listeners through her delicious recipes. It's a show that I eagerly look forward to every week.

One of the best aspects of The Secret Life Of Cookies is the winning combination it offers. Not only do you get mouth-watering recipes and cooking tips, but you also get to hear fascinating conversations with interesting guests from various fields. From political commentator Kathy Griffin to author Mary Trump, the range of guests is diverse and engaging. These guests open up about their insights, life experiences, and even current events, making each episode thought-provoking and compelling. Additionally, Marissa's humor adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the show, making it feel like you're sitting in the warm and welcoming kitchen of your best friend.

There are very few downsides to this podcast. One minor aspect that some might find wanting is the lack of detailed information about certain recipe components or techniques. For example, in one episode where Joyce was a guest, there was curiosity about her frosting recipe but it wasn't fully discussed. However, this can be easily overlooked as the overall content of the podcast more than makes up for it.

In conclusion, The Secret Life Of Cookies is a delightful blend of baking inspiration and entertaining conversations. Whether you're an avid baker or simply enjoy learning from experts in their field, this podcast has something for everyone. Marissa's ability to create a comfortable atmosphere combined with her choice of remarkable guests makes each episode feel like spending time with friends at a gathering or party - one you won't want to leave. So go ahead, treat yourself to 50 minutes a week with Marissa and this incredible podcast, and you'll find yourself eagerly awaiting the next episode.
