HOW THE STORIES WE TELL OURSELVES EFFECT OUR LIVES I am going to be brutally honest with you....lately life has felt like a bit of a shit show! From selling our townhouse, temporarily moving in with my parents, finding the perfect rental, planning to move into our fifth wheel before moving into the perfect rental all while running a business has made me feel a little like a chicken with my head cut off. Needless to say, it's felt like a LOT!! What's made it feel even worse is the fact that I was telling myself that it was a lot. I have been constantly caught up in feeling like there is so much to do, and not enough time to do it. And the more that I told myself that...the more that I believed it and the more true that it felt. Our lives are the reality of the stories that we tell ourselves. Our beliefs create our thoughts, our thoughts create our action and our action create our reality. Since my thoughts have been rooted in stress, anxiety, pressure...what do you think my current reality has felt like? STRESS! ANXIETY! And soooooo much pressure... As someone who has been deeply immersed in personal development, mindset and energy work for over the past 5 years I am no stranger to the ways in which I self sabotage. Yet so often we only end up prioritizing one of them without even knowing. As entrepreneurs we get so focused on where we want to go and the milestones that we want to hit: starting our businesses signing our first client scaling to 5k cash months going full time in our businesses scaling to 10k cash months The more we are focused on the milestones that we want to hit, the more we focus on what we need to do and how exactly do we get there. All of which are action based and only happen to be 1/2 of the business strategy you need. Yet it's this same 1/2 of our business strategy that we have been taught to believe is ALL of our strategy. MARKET RESEARCH IS DEAD I don't know about you, but the thought of conducting market research is an immediate hell to the NO for me! It's not something that I like doing. It's not something that interests or excites me. And it's definitely not something I think I need in order to create incredible offers that also SELL! In fact, I know it's not. If I am being honest, the only insight that I ever received when conducting market research was that I shouldn't be conducting market research. It was actually due to a lack of interest and response to market research that I held myself back from creating a program that I had been so excited and lit up to create. Which happens to be the same offer that once I did create it, went on to have 5 figure launches EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Alllllll without any market research. Which is why market research is not something that I do, recommend or that is ever in any of my programs. WHAT IT ACTUALLY MEANS TO SURRENDER Let's talk surrendering, shall we? If you are anything like me then I am sure that you are not unfamiliar with the term of surrendering. In fact, you've probably even told yourself a time or two (or twenty) that you just "need to surrender." And you're probably right! However I am starting to see a theme emerge when it comes to surrendering and the term being taken quite literally. Meaning that we just aren't surrendering our control but we are ALSO surrendering taking any action. Here's the thing....surrendering doesn't mean to completely stop taking action in your life and business. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Which is why on today's episode we are talking all things: What does it actually mean to surrender Why surrendering doesn't mean to stop taking action How stopping any action actually signals a lack of trust to ourselves and the universe How to use surrendering to your benefit Surrendering isn't about stopping all of the action that you are taking. It is however about stopping yourself from forcing or controlling action. Which often happens when we feel like things aren't working in our businesses the way we figure we should. So what do we do? We go into "fixing" mode. What often times initiation this "fixing" mode is that at the root of the action we are taking we don't actually trust ourselves, our businesses or the action that we have been taking. Which ultimately just creates a lack of trust. Remember surrendering is being able to give up the WHEN and the HOW, while anchoring into the WHY and NOW! It's about being able to take daily inspired action with the trust that everything is always working out for your greatest good, without needing to KNOW that it is. I hope that this episode serves as your friendly reminder that where you are at is perfect and exactly where you are meant to be!
LIFE UPDATE AND TAKING MESSY INSPIRED ACTION Want a really honest truth about today's episode?...I ALMOST didn't record it. Life has been a little (okay a lot) hectic to say the least. I have been trying to record this podcast since last Thursday and each time that I did I felt like I had nothing to say. "You could just miss a week." "No one would even notice." "You've been so consistent, what's one week going to do?" These were the exact thoughts that ran through my mind these last few days and I almost let them win. But then I remember that messy action is always better than no action. RED FLAGS OF INVESTING + HOW TO KNOW WHEN TO INVEST Here's what I have learned from continuously investing in my business over the last 6 years; there is no such thing as a bad investment there are sometimes however expensive lessons...which you wouldn't have received any other way. I have have invested in coaches that completely changed my life and my business. I have invested in containers and walked away with resentment having no idea what I actually got out of it. I have also invested in containers that were meh...not great, not bad, just somewhere in the middle. As easy as it can be to get upset about the ones that we are quick to label as "bad," every single one of them served my in some way. Not only has it taught me a lot about myself and how I want to run my business personally, it has also taught me a lot about when I know if an investment is right for me or not.
