This week we take our second look at the comic rockumentary with special guest Joe Macre. Joe was the original bass player for the acclaimed cult band Crack The Sky. Rolling Stone Magazine declared Crack The Sky "the Beatles of Baltimore." The magazine gave their eponymous first album their "debut of the year" award. Joe says "This Is Spinal Tap" best represents what it was like being in a rock band in the late-70s and early-80s. We don't talk much about the movie, but he keeps us entertained with the history of his band, and life on the road with acts like Frank Zappa, Styx, Boston, Foghat and Cheap Trick among others.

After last week's disturbing pick, The Vanishing, John has decided to go in a completely different direction with this week's choice. He has chosen the comedy classic, Airplane! Released in 1980 and written & directed by ZAZ (Zucker, Abrahams, Zucker). It's the joke a minute movie that took spoofs (Like Mel Brooks) and brought them to another level. Don't blink or you may miss a joke. It starred actors like Leslie Neilsen, Peter Graves. Lloyd Bridges and Robert Stack who were known for serious roles. Their deadpan delivery is what makes it so funny. All the iconic lines are there: "Don't call me Shirley", "Looks like I picked a bad week to stop...", Excuse me stewardess, I speak Jive". Still holds up and we had fun talking about it.

Tonight's YKY episode is a feel good film, 1993's Cool Runnings. The true story of the Jamaican Bobsled team that competed in the 88 Calgary Winter Olympics. It stars John Candy (In his last film before he died 6 months later), and as the Bobsled team, Leon, Doug E. Doug, Rawie Lewis and Malik Yoba. At the time this was Disney's highest grossing live action film and while not high art, a fun movie that will make you smile. Did everyone feel that way? Watch and find out.
