Lydia makes her first visit to Gowran and she and Ruby are joined by Jack Kennedy for an interesting canter through some of the major Cheltenham Festival contenders he can expect to be on in March - one of our social media correspondents asks him which horses he thinks he will be riding in each of the novice hurdles and the answers may not be the ones you might have expected. We also hear from Jack about his thoughts on Gerri Colombe, Teahupoo, Irish Point, Found A FIfty and much more, while Lydia and Ruby unpick Allaho's latest success in the Horse And Jockey Chase at Thurles. Does he really deserve to be just a 5/2 chance for the Ryanair? #horseracing #horse #horses #roadtocheltenham
Our team reflect on Allaho, L'Homme Presse and JPR One, react to the big news and preview the big-race action at Thurles and Cheltenham this week.
Cheltenham… Only Bettor is back with its ninth episode, and it sees yet another special guest added to the team! Hosted by Natalie Green, she is joined by her usual Betfair panel of Daryl Carter and Kevin Blake and this week Timeform and Racing TV's Dan Barber joined the team to discuss all the action from the week that was. The four of them looked through the performances of Allaho, L'Homme Presse and Minella Cocooner to name just a few, as well as delving into the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle market for this week's antepost preview of the week. In Episode Nine a new segment was added to the show where the panel was asked to either Back or Lay the six shortest favourites as things stand for the 2024 Cheltenham Festival, with some very differing opinions. To round off the podcast Kevin Blake and Dan Barber put up their Week Nine Cheltenham Festival antepost selections for the 2024 meeting, with our guest picking out a 33/1 shot in the Ryanair Chase. Did Allaho solidify his Ryanair credentials at Thurles? Is L'Homme Presse a genuine Gold Cup contender? What does the team make of the bumper division this season? The Off The Fence team discuss all that and more as Vanessa Ryle, Barry Geraghty and Tony Keenan assess the best of the action from Lingfield, Thurles and Navan – as well as previewing Cheltenham Trials Day featuring the rearranged Clarence House, and the Thyestes Chase card at Gowran Park. Barry and Tony have picked out more horses to add to your ATR Tracker, with Barry's one to watch winning at Navan on Saturday…

Henry de Bromhead pays tribute to A Plus Tard as it was announced this week that he had been retired and also looks ahead to the clash this weekend between Envoi Allen and Allaho. Finally, Fergal O'Brien shares details on how we can help Richard 'Sparky' Bevis who's currently in an induced coma following a serious accident last weekend.

Meanwhile in the Savills, we have a contest that looks particularly deep now that Gerri Colombe is a confirmed intended starter. So who will land the spoils on December 28?

We begin with Jonbon's stylish victory in the Shloer Chase, but do any of the team think he can beat old rival El Fabiolo in the Champion Chase? Katie has serious concerns about him in the Tingle Creek! He could face Captain Guinness after winning back-to-back Fortria Chases. We discuss his prospects for the season. Next, we look at Bob Olinger's plans after his heartwarming comeback win in the Lismullen Hurdle. Stage Star put up a fantastic weight-carrying performance in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, but can he beat Envoi Allen and Allaho in the Ryanair? Our attention then shifts to the novices, including Facile Vega, American Mike, Fact To File, Homme Public, Broadway Boy, Stellar Story, Croke Park, Minella Missile, Look To The West, Burdett Road, Kala Conti, Springt De La Mare, Baby Kate, and Only By Night. In every Azaan, Iqamat and Namaaz we say “Allaho Akbar.” Literally, we attest that “God is greater.” What does this mean? Why do we proclaim Allaho Akbar so frequently? Saying something ‘is greater' entails that there is a smaller version – but there is no ‘smaller' God. And God has no likeness, so what is Allah greater than? Our Awliya' Kiraam have instructed us that namaaz can only be started by proclaiming Allaho Akbar, and without this namaaz is not valid. What is the reason for this? Syedna TUS answers these questions in this Majlis, the 72nd in the Majalis al Hikma series. Proudly brought to you by TOTE.co.uk, join Emmet Kennedy, Nick Luck and Jamie Benson as the lads look back on an incredible week of Racing at Cheltenham, by focusing on the Championship Hurdle and Chase Divisions. In a meeting dominated from start to finish by Ireland, it was Allaho who arguably put up the most impressive Chase performance of the week, with Honeysuckle and Flooring Porter putting on impressive displays of their own over Hurdles, with the latter providing Danny Mullins with his first Festival victory, and the first making history with Rachael Blackmore, who became the first female Jockey to win the Champion Hurdle. But that was only the start, as Rachael would go on to be crowned Leading Jockey and equal a record of six winners on the week, set by one of the modern greats, Ruby Walsh. In Episode 71 of In The Saddle Podcast Marc Hryhorskyj is the host. This betting preview covers Day 3 of The Cheltenham Festival. The Scottish Suns Jim Delahunt and everyone's favourite Lucky Loaders will be marking the card. The trio analyze and put forward their best bets for the three grade ones on Day 2 of The Cheltenham Festival. The three races that are covered in this betting preview are the Marsh Novices' Chase, Ryanair Chase and Stayers Hurdle. The hot pot Envoi Allen dominates the betting in the Marsh Novices' Chase and the panel all agree he is the one to beat for Henry De Bromhead. However Chris is quite sweet on the chances of Chantry House to follow Envoi Allen home who improved on his latest run at Wetherby. Next up is the Ryanair Chase, which looks to be a wide open contest however the panel are keen to take on the favourite Allaho for Willie Mullins. Jim Delahunt thinks Misterr Fisher is a lively player as he boasts solid course form with a win in the Peterborough Chase in December. Chris thinks Melon has a strong chance of getting his first Festival success. The last grade one that is covered on Day 3 is the feature Stayers Hurdle. With Thyme Hill being ruled out Chris thinks Paisley Park can regain his crown. However Jim thinks the Irish might have answers with the improving Flooring Porter and the versatile The Storyteller.
