In this Final Furlong audio podcast exclusive, we reflect on two major moments that have rocked the racing world. First, Rachael Blackmore — the groundbreaking, history-making champion — has announced her retirement. From a 7lb claimer at Clonmel to winning every major championship race at Cheltenham and rewriting the Grand National record books aboard Minella Times, Rachael inspired a generation. Emmet Kennedy is joined by the man behind so many of those iconic victories, Henry de Bromhead, to pay tribute to a jockey who changed the sport forever. Then, we turn to Longchamp, where controversy erupted in the aftermath of the French 1,000 Guineas. She's Perfect crossed the line first — seemingly handing a first Classic win to trainer Charlie Fellowes and owner Basher Watts — only to be demoted after a stewards' inquiry in favour of a whipless Zarigana. What happened, and what does it say about racing's rules? Basher Watts joins us to give his first full reaction — and it's unmissable.
