W/C 4th May 2026There are so few opportunities to use this particular song as an episode title (this is certainly the first since I started TFM) that I snatched at it, without hesitation. As a guitar player as was well aware of Gary Moore, and whilst not a card-carrying devotee, I was certainly more than aware of the range and depth of his work. I got to see him play live once, at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July 2010, and he certainly lived up to his reputation. What I didn't know at the time was that it would be his last ever recorded performance, as he would die less than a year later in Estepona, he was 58. I have spent quite a lot of time there, it is a place I really like, and yet I had no idea of that part of the story.I have included footage of that performance alongside side the original for no other reason than I was there, and finding it took underscored the poignancy of that night.Stay safe.Parisenne Walkways (featuring Phil Lynott) - Gary MooreParisienne Walkways (Montreux Jazz Festival, 2010) - Gary MooreTherapy For Me (or TFM as I now refer to it) is a bit of an audio curiosity. It started out as a mechanism for me to clear my head, with the hope that by saying stuff out loud it would act as a little bit of self-help. It's remains loose in style, fluid in terms of content and raw - it's a one take, press record and see what happens, affair. If you want to keep in touch with TFM and the other stuff I do then please follow me on Facebook, Insta, Twitter or Patreon. Thanks for getting this far.

Colin Burgeson is a blues/rock guitarist, singer and songwriter from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. His music blends soulful blues, catchy rock n' roll guitar riffs and soaring melodic leads to create a sound that can be both relaxed and slow, and upbeat and energetic. In his guitar and vocal work, you'll hear a sound influenced by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and much more! Colin developed a love for music starting at a young age, primarily from watching his father, Eric Burgeson. Eric was a career musician who spent time in the late 80s touring with British rock band Foghat. He began taking guitar lessons from his father at age 9 and started writing songs and joined his first band by age 15. After his first band dissolved, he focused on his studies for a few years and briefly pursued a career in law enforcement. But his passion for music never faded, and he continued to write music and hone his guitar skills until teaming up with longtime friend and bandmate Seamus Gleason, who would later perform drums on his debut solo album, to form heavy metal band Knight of Tears. The band would spend the next two years performing at various venues and festivals in the inland northwest, and released a self titled EP in 2016. As Knight of Tears became inactive in the summer of 2016, an opportunity arose, and Colin successfully auditioned for and joined Spokane hard rock band Invasive. He would spend the next three years with Invasive, touring throughout Idaho, Washington and Oregon, opening for popular touring acts such as Quiet Riot, Steel Panther, Metal Church and more, and contributed guitar tracks to the singles “Sea of Black” and “Scars.” After vocalist Gary Cook left the band in 2019, the remaining members would reconvene to form hard rock/heavy metal band Psidium. Psidium would release the album “Blood in the Water” in 2021, which led to Colin's initial partnership with Pavement Entertainment. While he enjoyed writing and performing in the hard rock and heavy metal style he had been doing for the past several years, he eventually discovered that it was no longer his passion. After listening to records by Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore, he decided to pursue a solo career in blues and blues-rock music, while also developing himself as a lead vocalist and frontman. During the recording of their second album in 2022, Psidium would become inactive, and he would go on to join classic rock cover band Laketown Sound and finish writing what would become his debut solo album. Psidium officially disbanded in 2023, and Colin shifted his focus to his solo career, completing the album in the fall of 2025. Currently, Colin is performing at festivals and events in the Inland Northwest with Laketown Sound, while preparing to release his debut solo album, “From Sunshine Into Shadow,” with tour dates and performances to follow!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

The latest Blues is the Truth just dropped, and honestly? The energy in the room for this one was something else. We're taking you straight to the heart of the 2026 UK Blues Awards—no fluff, just the raw news from the night and the incredible music that defined it. When you see names like Alice Armstrong, Connor Selby, Will Wilde, and The Cinelli Brothers all in the mix, you realize just how much fire is in the scene right now. We've packed the episode with the winners and the heavy hitters like Mississippi Macdonald, Zac Schulze Gang, The Whiskey Flowers, and Jump 66, giving you a front-row seat to the best of the night. But we never forget the foundations. We're bridging the gap between the legends—Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, John Lee Hooker, and The Staples Singers—and the powerhouses pushing the genre forward like Joanne Shaw Taylor, Caitlin Krisko and the Broadcast, Albert Castiglia, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Mike Zito. The flow is relentless; with Catfish, Mud Morganfield, and The Robert Cray Band in the ears, the quality never dips. One track leads into the next until you're right in the thick of it. It's a proper snapshot of the blues as it stands today—plenty to enjoy and a few moments that will stay with you long after the final note.

S9E 16 of The Story of Rock and Roll radio show went out live from the TSORR studio in Myoli Beach on the 16th of April 2026. It was a tough show for me, very emotional. It was dedicated to Nigel Stock, a friend and business partner, a mentor, an inspiration, and an exceptional human being who befriended me 33 years ago. Nigel passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, 11 April 2026, and I am forever grateful that I had a perfect day with him earlier that very day. The show was dedicated to Nigel, and those of you who knew him will probably get quite a lot out of it. For those who didn't, the music should carry you through. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace, Nigel. Thank you for everything. S9E15 went out live from the TSORR Studio on Myoli Beach on 9 Apr 2026 at 19h00 on Bulldogs Radio. The podcast is great, but the live show was a struggle because of the internet failure, and the whole Garden Route went down. Then it came back, and it went down for about half an hour, and you just lose your momentum with the live audience. The joys of a country that refuses to allow us to have Star Link as a back up. The diabolical challenge featured Billy Gibbons, Zakk Wylde, Sammy Hagar and Jerry Cantrell. The Immortals featured Dragon Force. I had a very interesting chat to GAZ and played his brand new track which will be released on 17 Apr. S9E12 went out live from the TSORR Studio on Myoli Beach on 19 Mar 2026 at 19h00 on Bulldogs Radio. It was a great show, upbeat and full of fun, despite the drama that seems to surround us these days. The sad passing of Motörheads Phil Campbell at the age of 64 took me by surprise, so we paid our respects to Phil. I had a great interview with Mark Biagio of the Fismits and listened to his brand-new track, which is being released on 20 March, so check that out. I also played some more Springbok Nude Girls to make amends for last week. Dan Patlansky featured on the new Ruff Majik track. I call this Metal Dan, and I love it. The diabolical challenge was fun with the hard rock heroes Gary Moore, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Marino, and Ted Nugent, and we chilled out nicely with Pink Floyd's masterpiece 'Time' in the Immortals slot. Ozzy Osbournen ja Ronnie James Dion laulettua Black Sabbathin keulahahmoina, 1980-luvun alussa bändille koitti vaikea aikakausi. Sitä kutsutaan nimellä ”Lost Years”, hämärät vuodet. Send Steve a Text MessageWhat makes a guitar solo truly musical? Is it technical prowess, scale knowledge, or something deeper? In this revelatory exploration of improvisation, Steve Stine strips away the technical complexities to focus on what really matters: creating authentic guitar solos that respond to what the music is asking for.Forget about simply memorizing more scales or arpeggios. Steve challenges the conventional approach to improvisation by emphasizing the crucial connection between your ears, brain, and fingers. "You have to practice improvising," he explains. "You can't just practice exercises all day long and learn more scales and more fretboard things and then expect that your improvisation is going to get better." This simple but profound insight shifts the focus from accumulating knowledge to developing musical intuition.Through practical demonstrations across multiple backing tracks—funk, rock, major key ballads, and blues—Steve reveals how different musical contexts demand different approaches. For groove-based music, connecting rhythmically becomes paramount. For major key compositions, melodic awareness takes center stage. Throughout all examples, Steve demonstrates how to break free from predictable "boxes" where phrases all have the same shape and motion, offering instead a more speech-like, expressive alternative.Perhaps most valuable is Steve's explanation of balancing "connected" playing (locked to the rhythm) with "free time" playing (momentarily detached from strict rhythmic constraints). This interplay creates the dynamic tension that characterizes the most engaging solos from legends like Robin Ford and Gary Moore, who could "play nice and melodic and then all of a sudden rip something out and then go back in."Ready to transform your approach to improvisation? Whether you're struggling with connecting to the groove, creating varied musical phrases, or finding your authentic voice as a soloist, Steve's insights provide a clear path forward. Bob Daisley: The Unsung Hero of Rock and Roll For over five decades, bassist and songwriter Bob Daisley has been the powerhouse behind some of rock's most iconic recordings. From thunderous metal anthems to soulful blues and progressive ballads, Daisley's versatility and talent have made him a cornerstone in music history—working alongside legendary artists across the globe. Early Years: From Australia to the World Stage Born in Australia, Daisley moved to London at 21, chasing a future in music. On his 22nd birthday in 1972, he joined Stan Webb's band Chicken Shack. Just a year later, he signed on with Mungo Jerry, recording the hit single “Alright, Alright, Alright” and embarking on extensive international tours. Breaking Through: Widowmaker and Rainbow In 1974, Daisley rejoined Chicken Shack, but his creative ambitions led to co-founding Widowmaker in 1975. The band released two albums: Widowmaker (1976) and Too Late to Cry (1977), earning acclaim in the UK rock scene. Later that year, Daisley was tapped by guitar virtuoso Ritchie Blackmore to join Rainbow, alongside vocalist Ronnie James Dio and drummer Cozy Powell—forming what many consider the band's definitive lineup. Their explosive live shows and the album Long Live Rock ‘n' Roll solidified Rainbow's place in rock history. Blizzard of Ozz: Defining a Genre In 1979, Daisley partnered with Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Randy Rhoads to form the Blizzard of Ozz. Their self-titled debut soared to #7 on the UK charts and went platinum in the U.S. They followed with Diary of a Madman (1981), which also achieved platinum status and further cemented the band's influence on heavy metal. Beyond the Blizzard: A Storied Career After a brief departure, Daisley returned to work with Osbourne on his third solo album. Tragedy struck in 1982 with Rhoads' untimely death, but the band pressed on, recording Bark at the Moon (1983) with new guitarist Jake E. Lee, earning international success. Daisley also joined Uriah Heep during this period and launched a prolific collaboration with guitar legend Gary Moore. He contributed to Victims of the Future and toured globally, later reuniting with Moore for Wild Frontier (1987) and Still Got the Blues (1990)—Moore's most successful album to date. 1990s & Beyond: Writing Hits, Shaping Legends Daisley returned once again to the Osbourne fold, co-writing and performing on No Rest for the Wicked (1988) and the chart-topping No More Tears (1991). That same decade, he formed Mother's Army with Jeff Watson of Night Ranger, releasing several albums showcasing his songwriting depth. Throughout the 2000s, he remained an in-demand collaborator, contributing to projects with Yngwie Malmsteen, Living Loud—a supergroup with Jimmy Barnes, Steve Morse, Don Airey, and Lee Kerslake—and revisiting classic Blizzard of Ozz material. Author and Legacy Builder In 2013, Daisley released his autobiography For Facts Sake, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at his life in rock. Though he has stepped back from touring, he remains a respected figure in the music industry, continuing to inspire through studio work and guest appearances. A Legacy Etched in Rock History Bob Daisley's basslines have underscored some of the most memorable moments in rock and metal. Whether writing, performing, or mentoring, his passion for music endures. With a legacy spanning continents and genres, Daisley remains a foundational figure in the world of rock and roll. #BobDaisley #RandyRhoads #OzzyOsbourne #JohnnyBeaneTV #RockLegends #BassGuitarIcon Want to create live streams like this? Also on today's show, trainer Gary Moore tells Nick hoe he plans to get the maximum from Mondo Man ahead of this weekend's Adonis hurdle, plus has a plan for his beloved Goshen. In Riyadh, Nick catches up with Dan Blacker, trainer of Breeders' Cup Sprint hero Straight No Chaser, while trainer Yoshi Hashida fills us in on his representative plus the abortive mission to bring a horse from Japan to the Cheltenham Festival.
