Steve Levine is a multi-award winning British record producer. He has produced albums for stars ranging from Deniece Williams to China Crisis; from Ziggy Marley to Quarterflash; as well as being producer of Culture Club's first three multi-platinum selling albums from the 1980s. In 1984 Steve won Producer Of The Year at The Brit Awards, and in 1988 he won a Grammy Award for his work with Deniece Williams The Beach Boys self-titled 1985 CD – which Steve originally produced - was the band's first to be recorded digitally and featured guest musicians Ringo Starr, Gary Moore and Stevie Wonder, plus a track written by Boy George and Roy Hay of Culture Club. Now, the former Culture Club producer accesses individual tracks from the original London (Red Bus Studios) and Los Angeles (Westlake Audio) session tapes. 40 years later, armed with new technology, Steve is able to transform the sonic quality via equipment that wasn't available four decades ago. As he undertakes the painstaking studio process of remixing the music for a forthcoming re-release, Steve discusses the process – and the original sessions – in detail, with some music business friends. Welcome to my SHINE podcast for August, 2026. This month, I'm talking about life lessons from the perspective of your Akashic records. If you're new to this podcast, I'm an intuitive reader who creates a clear frame of reference to help you make decisions by understanding who you truly are at the soul level and how to connect your soul purpose with your human design life purpose. Through my work, you can also experience a deeper understanding of self, align more fully with who you are at the soul level, and bring that energy into your everyday life for greater self-awareness, clarity, and fulfilment. I also teach Akashic Records work and how to grow the connection to your intuition, also known as your higher self. This month in my Shine podcast, we're looking at life lessons, something that can be intuited through your Akashic Records. The Records hold information about your soul and the energetic patterns that help you understand your life at a deeper level. In this podcast, I look at life lessons through 5 different frames or layers of awareness, creating an acronym I call SHINE. S is for Soul Level Awareness, the Akashic Records, and Past Lives. H is for Human Design. I is for Intuition. N is for Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Language Work. E is for Energetics, anything to do with your energy. Put them all together, and you have a way to shine. What Are Life Lessons? First of all, to work at the Soul level of Shine, let's set a definition for life lessons. Think of life lessons as themes that run through your life. I use the term life lessons because the word lessons is something we all understand from our experiences at school. But these aren't lessons in the traditional sense of being tested or graded. From an Akashic perspective, Life Lessons are chosen by the soul before incarnation. There can be three main reasons for this. Firstly, a life lesson may relate to a pattern that your soul wants to clear from a past life. Secondly, and equally, a life lesson can relate to the life situations and circumstances of your present life. And thirdly, your Soul may be interested in working through Genetic Karma using the lens of a particular life lesson. Genetic karma is connected with our ancestral heritage, the patterns and energy that can be carried through our family line. So you can see how Life Lessons can run through our lives almost like an energetic thread. So how do Life Lessons work, exactly? When I read your Akashic Records through your Divine Soul Blueprint, which is the essence of who you are at the soul level, I look for your personal Life Lessons. There is a Primary Life Lesson to be found, along with between three and six Secondary Life Lessons, depending on what your Soul has chosen for this lifetime. These life lessons can relate to up to 11 different life areas. Some examples of life areas are career, Health and wellness, and relationships. Some life lessons may be active in your life from day one. Others may be sparked by a particular life situation or circumstance. And sometimes a life lesson can be activated by a karmic pattern that is asking to be cleared. You'll often know when a karmic pattern is being activated because you notice something repeating in your life. Noticing Repeating Patterns You might find yourself experiencing similar situations again and again. Or feeling as though something almost just out of reach is holding you back. But for this podcast, let's come back to life lessons. So by now, you're probably wondering which Life Lessons you might have. I can intuit your life lessons from your Divine Soul Blueprint, that cloud or URL of soul energy that's accessible through your Akashic Records. Discovering your life lessons, especially your primary life lesson, can be a real head-slap moment. It's very helpful and validating to learn because it can put so much of your present life experiences into a whole new perspective. Life Lessons Podcast: Human Design May Show Us Life Lessons Sometimes life lessons show themselves very clearly in your Human Design chart. This is a representation of your aura using ancient and modern measurement tools, such as the Hindu chakra system and the Chinese I Ching prediction system. Recently, I started work as a specialist on something new called the Success Codex, which looks at some astrological aspects of your personality plus the main aspects of your personality through Human Design. Sometimes the life lessons show themselves energetically in the Success Codex chart, too. At other times, the actual words of the life lessons come up. I find this so fascinating as a reader that information I channel also shows up in a chart. Amazing validation! (See story below). Human Design +How The Success Codex Changed My Experience of Life Lessons In 2024, I found myself studying my energy in a whole new way. I'm definitely a student of the new. This partly comes from my Divine Soul Blueprint, where my primary Energy Center is Divine Communication – an aspect of this energy is being the eternal student! Read the full story over at Soul Intelligence on Substack Life Lessons Podcast: Example of Life Lessons Through A Famous Person Let's look at life lessons through Human Design and the Success Codex now. It's always helpful to have an example to relate to when we're contemplating a spiritual concept like life lessons. This month, I've chosen Gary Moore, who is a famous guitarist. If you don't know who he was, check him out on YouTube. Search for Gary Moore, The Messiah Will Come Again, and you'll get a sense of his incredible expertise and passion. Of course, we're not all Gary Moores. We're all designed to be uniquely ourselves. But looking at his life lessons and his Human Design Life Purpose in relation to his career gives us a really interesting example. Life Lessons Podcast: Lessons Are Like A Slide Rule And do remember that Life Lessons are a little bit like a slide rule. If you have the Primary Life Lesson of Abundance, for example, you might experience financial abundance and have plenty of resources in your life. But equally, you might find that you struggle with abundance throughout your life. The soul is interested in experiencing the Life Lesson. It doesn't judge the experience in the way we humans tend to. And who knows, if you struggle with a particular life lesson, perhaps there is a karmic pattern getting in the way of fully experiencing it. So, back to Gary Moore's life lessons. His primary life lesson was Peace, which, looking at his life history, was something he struggled to find. His secondary life lessons were Ease, Abundance, and Openness. He may have felt most at peace when he was playing and working with music. He did experience financial abundance through his work over time, although sometimes that abundance became out of balance. Gary Moore's Life Purpose His soul's intention was simply to experience ease or not, abundance or not, openness or not. He famously fell out with fellow musicians, sometimes fell back in with them again, and had an eventful personal life. Through Human Design, his life purpose is that of Endeavor. And interestingly, it's 11.11 on the clock as I'm recording these notes for the podcast. He was totally focused on his musical career throughout his life, and the level of skill he achieved on the guitar was a true endeavor. As a young man, he even stretched out the tendons on his left hand so that he could play the guitar right-handed. He was naturally left-handed. Now that's definitely an endeavor. Through his Success Codex chart, I can see that he regulated his emotions through creativity. Maybe that gave him some peace. His Superpower was Sharing, and his North Node or Purpose was to live through his Passion. His guiding light from the Success Codex™ was to cultivate his Wisdom. As with many people's lifetimes, he worked through some of his life lessons, but didn't necessarily work through all of the potential within each lesson. And again, the Soul doesn't judge this. It simply experiences. Life Lessons Podcast: You May Recognize Your Life Lessons Now let's consider recognizing your own life lessons through your intuition, the I in the SHINE model. When clients hear their life lessons, they often intuitively start to connect the dots with where and when particular life lessons have been activated in their lives. There is often an immediate recognition of the theme when the Life Lesson is named. With intimate relationships, one of our Primary or Secondary life lessons may be activated. Or there may even be a separate life lesson connected specifically with that relationship. Perhaps attracted through a karmic pattern from a past life or through choices and decisions made in the present life. As I mentioned earlier, the soul is neutral about what is experienced through a life lesson. We have free will, and we take action based on the decisions we make. The soul can't predict exactly what we're going to do with that free will. It can choose to incarnate to have certain experiences, but it doesn't judge the outcome. Expectations are a very human trait. NLP™, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Language Now let's go to the N in the SHINE model, which is working with NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, the language we use related to life lessons. When I work with a client during the sole purpose reading for the primary life lesson, or the life lessons reading, we delve into the various word definitions of the life lessons in question. Often, this brings deeper enlightenment as a client finds different ways to relate to a life lesson through this approach. It's also helpful to imagine your life as a timeline and contemplate life situations through the lens of a particular life lesson. This can also bring about deeper understanding. I also suggest finding a quote or affirmation you like with the specific name of the life lesson in the quote or affirmation to help you align with the positive potentials of that particular life lesson. Life Lessons Podcast: Energetics, Love and Relationships Now let's look at the E in the SHINE model, Energetics, with a focus on love and relationships. When I give my Relationship Reading, sometimes clients will discover how present-day life lessons connect with that relationship because it will confirm difficult dynamics or growth patterns that clients are going through in their present life. Relationships that are over may also be a part of this life lesson, so it's good to review your past relationships too. Sometimes two souls have shared other lifetimes, and there may be karmic patterns still playing out, which is why they've been magnetically drawn together during this lifetime. Karma is like a catalyst, and it keeps offering a soul the same patterns over and over until they're resolved. Do we ever complete Life Lessons? When we work on spiritual aspects of ourselves, it's easy to apply human values to spiritual values because that's what we know and experience here in this dimension. So when we hear about a life lesson, we wonder if we're going to get a good completion score or how we can do better. Life lessons aren't an exam, though. They are vibrational themes to help us grow. We can choose to grow a lot or a little in this lifetime or the next. Perhaps a good metaphor is thinking about life lessons as different rooms off a long corridor. We can choose to spend more time in one room than another, and it's okay to do so. But if you want to get more conscious about it, then at least knowing the available rooms, or life lessons to work on, is a really good start. Life Lesson Readings I hope that after listening this far, you're beginning to think about life lessons in a whole new way. I offer four different types of readings that relate to your life lessons. We can explore their completeness, life area activation, and even the reflections of those life lessons through your Human Design and Success Codex charts. And if life lessons through relationships resonate with you, you can have a Relationship Reading through the Akashic Records. This can be connected to a partner, family member, friend, or even a work colleague as long as you know their birth data. Colin Burgeson is a blues/rock guitarist, singer and songwriter from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. His music blends soulful blues, catchy rock n' roll guitar riffs and soaring melodic leads to create a sound that can be both relaxed and slow, and upbeat and energetic. In his guitar and vocal work, you'll hear a sound influenced by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and much more!            Colin developed a love for music starting at a young age, primarily from watching his father, Eric Burgeson. Eric was a career musician who spent time in the late 80s touring with British rock band Foghat. He began taking guitar lessons from his father at age 9 and started writing songs and joined his first band by age 15. After his first band dissolved, he focused on his studies for a few years and briefly pursued a career in law enforcement.            But his passion for music never faded, and he continued to write music and hone his guitar skills until teaming up with longtime friend and bandmate Seamus Gleason, who would later perform drums on his debut solo album, to form heavy metal band Knight of Tears. The band would spend the next two years performing at various venues and festivals in the inland northwest, and released a self titled EP in 2016.             As Knight of Tears became inactive in the summer of 2016, an opportunity arose, and Colin successfully auditioned for and joined Spokane hard rock band Invasive. He would spend the next three years with Invasive, touring throughout Idaho, Washington and Oregon, opening for popular touring acts such as Quiet Riot, Steel Panther, Metal Church and more, and contributed guitar tracks to the singles “Sea of Black” and “Scars.” After vocalist Gary Cook left the band in 2019, the remaining members would reconvene to form hard rock/heavy metal band Psidium. Psidium would release the album “Blood in the Water” in 2021, which led to Colin's initial partnership with Pavement Entertainment.            While he enjoyed writing and performing in the hard rock and heavy metal style he had been doing for the past several years, he eventually discovered that it was no longer his passion. After listening to records by Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore, he decided to pursue a solo career in blues and blues-rock music, while also developing himself as a lead vocalist and frontman. During the recording of their second album in 2022, Psidium would become inactive, and he would go on to join classic rock cover band Laketown Sound and finish writing what would become his debut solo album. Mayor Gary Moore and City Manager Kasey Mitchell joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the city-wide cleanup on June 6th, upcoming road construction, the sidewalk reimbursement program, and Hog Days. Kewanee residents are encouraged to take part in city-wide Cleanup Day, which will take place on Saturday, June 6th, from 7 AM until noon. Participants should ensure all items are bagged or boxed for quick unloading, helping keep the area clean and efficient. Proof of an address within Kewanee is required. Volunteers are needed to assist with unloading vehicles and placing materials into large dumpsters. Extra hands are necessary to help the process move smoothly for everyone involved. Anyone interested in volunteering should show up Saturday morning. Join the effort to keep the city looking its best and make a difference in your community. If the event is postponed due to rain, the backup date is next Saturday. Restrictions include no electronics, toner, or liquids such as paint. The city is also promoting involvement in upcoming events, including Hog Days, and highlighting summer construction projects and a sidewalk reimbursement program.

W/C 4th May 2026There are so few opportunities to use this particular song as an episode title (this is certainly the first since I started TFM) that I snatched at it, without hesitation.As a guitar player as was well aware of Gary Moore, and whilst not a card-carrying devotee, I was certainly more than aware of the range and depth of his work. I got to see him play live once, at the Montreux Jazz Festival in July 2010, and he certainly lived up to his reputation.What I didn't know at the time was that it would be his last ever recorded performance, as he would die less than a year later in Estepona, he was 58. Colin Burgeson is a blues/rock guitarist, singer and songwriter from Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. His music blends soulful blues, catchy rock n' roll guitar riffs and soaring melodic leads to create a sound that can be both relaxed and slow, and upbeat and energetic. In his guitar and vocal work, you'll hear a sound influenced by the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, Gary Moore, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and much more!            Colin developed a love for music starting at a young age, primarily from watching his father, Eric Burgeson. Eric was a career musician who spent time in the late 80s touring with British rock band Foghat. He began taking guitar lessons from his father at age 9 and started writing songs and joined his first band by age 15. After his first band dissolved, he focused on his studies for a few years and briefly pursued a career in law enforcement.            But his passion for music never faded, and he continued to write music and hone his guitar skills until teaming up with longtime friend and bandmate Seamus Gleason, who would later perform drums on his debut solo album, to form heavy metal band Knight of Tears. The band would spend the next two years performing at various venues and festivals in the inland northwest, and released a self titled EP in 2016.             As Knight of Tears became inactive in the summer of 2016, an opportunity arose, and Colin successfully auditioned for and joined Spokane hard rock band Invasive. He would spend the next three years with Invasive, touring throughout Idaho, Washington and Oregon, opening for popular touring acts such as Quiet Riot, Steel Panther, Metal Church and more, and contributed guitar tracks to the singles “Sea of Black” and “Scars.” After vocalist Gary Cook left the band in 2019, the remaining members would reconvene to form hard rock/heavy metal band Psidium. Psidium would release the album “Blood in the Water” in 2021, which led to Colin's initial partnership with Pavement Entertainment.            While he enjoyed writing and performing in the hard rock and heavy metal style he had been doing for the past several years, he eventually discovered that it was no longer his passion. After listening to records by Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore, he decided to pursue a solo career in blues and blues-rock music, while also developing himself as a lead vocalist and frontman. During the recording of their second album in 2022, Psidium would become inactive, and he would go on to join classic rock cover band Laketown Sound and finish writing what would become his debut solo album. In their conversation Marcus talks about his physical journey as a child from the former Czech Republic to Austria and to Germany, Hamburg being his current home in the forest which also houses his studio. Marcus describes his gear in detail and talks about his friendship with fellow german Reinhold Bogner whom he met while attending GIT in Hollywood, Marcus is partially responsible for helping Bogner design the Ecstasy. Marcus takes us through his musical history, starting on jazz studying in Munich before moving to Hollywood to attend Musicians Institute and Marcus tells us why he chose MI and his goal of becoming a session guitarist. Marcus describes the culture shock of moving to Hollywood at 20 after growing up in Europe and he talks about his return to Europe after seven years of working doing sessions and teaching at MI as well as playing in the inevitable “hair bands” of the 80's. Marcus tells us about how he started doing sessions in Europe. In their conversation Glenn tells us about his new album “Chosen” which will be released September 5th, and the guys in his band. Glenn describes his basses and gear, Orange basses and amps and Nash basses. Glenn talks about how he maintains his voice at the age of 74. Glenn talks what brought him to the bass in the first place and his influences for not only bass but for voice as well. Glenn describes being in Deep Purple at the height of their fame and working with Ritchie Blackmore as well as Tony Iommi, Gary Moore, Joe Bonamassa, and recently Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. Bob Daisley: The Unsung Hero of Rock and Roll For over five decades, bassist and songwriter Bob Daisley has been the powerhouse behind some of rock's most iconic recordings. From thunderous metal anthems to soulful blues and progressive ballads, Daisley's versatility and talent have made him a cornerstone in music history—working alongside legendary artists across the globe. Early Years: From Australia to the World Stage Born in Australia, Daisley moved to London at 21, chasing a future in music. On his 22nd birthday in 1972, he joined Stan Webb's band Chicken Shack. Just a year later, he signed on with Mungo Jerry, recording the hit single “Alright, Alright, Alright” and embarking on extensive international tours. Breaking Through: Widowmaker and Rainbow In 1974, Daisley rejoined Chicken Shack, but his creative ambitions led to co-founding Widowmaker in 1975. The band released two albums: Widowmaker (1976) and Too Late to Cry (1977), earning acclaim in the UK rock scene. Later that year, Daisley was tapped by guitar virtuoso Ritchie Blackmore to join Rainbow, alongside vocalist Ronnie James Dio and drummer Cozy Powell—forming what many consider the band's definitive lineup. Their explosive live shows and the album Long Live Rock ‘n' Roll solidified Rainbow's place in rock history. Blizzard of Ozz: Defining a Genre In 1979, Daisley partnered with Ozzy Osbourne and guitarist Randy Rhoads to form the Blizzard of Ozz. Their self-titled debut soared to #7 on the UK charts and went platinum in the U.S. They followed with Diary of a Madman (1981), which also achieved platinum status and further cemented the band's influence on heavy metal. Beyond the Blizzard: A Storied Career After a brief departure, Daisley returned to work with Osbourne on his third solo album. Tragedy struck in 1982 with Rhoads' untimely death, but the band pressed on, recording Bark at the Moon (1983) with new guitarist Jake E. Lee, earning international success. Daisley also joined Uriah Heep during this period and launched a prolific collaboration with guitar legend Gary Moore. He contributed to Victims of the Future and toured globally, later reuniting with Moore for Wild Frontier (1987) and Still Got the Blues (1990)—Moore's most successful album to date. 1990s & Beyond: Writing Hits, Shaping Legends Daisley returned once again to the Osbourne fold, co-writing and performing on No Rest for the Wicked (1988) and the chart-topping No More Tears (1991). That same decade, he formed Mother's Army with Jeff Watson of Night Ranger, releasing several albums showcasing his songwriting depth. Throughout the 2000s, he remained an in-demand collaborator, contributing to projects with Yngwie Malmsteen, Living Loud—a supergroup with Jimmy Barnes, Steve Morse, Don Airey, and Lee Kerslake—and revisiting classic Blizzard of Ozz material. Author and Legacy Builder In 2013, Daisley released his autobiography For Facts Sake, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at his life in rock. Though he has stepped back from touring, he remains a respected figure in the music industry, continuing to inspire through studio work and guest appearances. A Legacy Etched in Rock History Bob Daisley's basslines have underscored some of the most memorable moments in rock and metal. Whether writing, performing, or mentoring, his passion for music endures.
