On this episode of Next on the Tee, I'm thrilled to share two remarkable guests whose stories, insights, and passion for what they do will inspire you on and off the course. I start with one of my all-time favorite women in golf, Eva Rogers, a Class A Teaching Professional at the iconic Medinah Country Club. Known for hosting some of golf's greatest championships, Medinah is also home to Eva's award-winning junior program. She shares her unique approach to identifying weaknesses in her students' games, the damaging impact of parental pressure, and why letting kids enjoy the game is key to their growth. Eva has been recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Best Young Teachers in America, and you'll quickly see why. Next, I welcome back long-time friend and former NFL wide receiver Don Beebe, now the Head Coach at Aurora University. Don, a natural motivator shaped by his faith and his years under Coach Marv Levy, talks about the upcoming film Run to Glory based on his life, plus breaking news he shares first with us. We revisit his favorite rounds at Medinah and other local courses, and we look ahead to his Aurora Spartans' promising 2025 season following last year's playoff run. Don is fantastic. If you enjoy his segment half as much as I did, we've really got something in store for you.

On this edition of Parallax Views, George Beebe — Director of Grand Strategy at the Quincy Institute, former director of the CIA's Russia analysis, and a former staff advisor on Russia matters to Vice President Dick Cheney — about the shifting architecture of global power and its impact on U.S. foreign policy. We begin by unpacking the rise of multipolarity: what it really means for America, why it could encourage balance and restraint, and why it also carries serious risks of miscalculation and instability. From there, we turn to the surprising recent signs of frustration between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, and what that might portend for the grinding, entrenched nature of the Russia-Ukraine war. We explore potential pathways to negotiation, asking what concessions would be unacceptable for either side — and what a settlement might look like from a realist perspective. Throughout, Beebe draws on his background in the realist school to argue for understanding geopolitical interests without morally excusing aggression. It's a conversation that moves beyond daily headlines to consider how shifting power dynamics, great-power rivalry, and hard strategic choices could shape the next phase of the war — and the world order that follows.
Wow! Just had a rousing conversation with Miss Georgia Peach (Beebe Gallini, et al.). She's a guitar player, singer, fashionista and so much more. Opinionated, insighful, and absolutely hilarious! She's got some brilliant stories, great music and a couple of excellent upcoming gigs. I hope you enjoy this half as much as I did. I don't remember the last time I laughed this hard in the podcast. Enjoy!

What 2025 will bring for climate tech is pretty hard to predict. We've seen a slowdown in investments at the same time as we see a continued flood of talent into the space, maturing technologies, and a boom in AI that could be transformative for climate solutions. The new administration? Nobody really knows how they'll orient around climate tech, or how private investors will respond. There's a lot of uncertainty, but of course, pros who have been in this game for decades and who study early-stage climate technology closely have some ideas of where we're headed. So I was thrilled to get to catch up with Andrew Beebe, Managing Director of Obvious Ventures. We spoke about Andrew's background as an entrepreneur and the parallels he sees between the Internet's and climate tech's early days. We talked about where climate tech is today, 5 predictions he has for 2025, generative science, technologies he's most excited about, what needs to change to address the climate crisis, and more. Andrew brings the nuance and clarity of someone who's been working closely with energy and climate entrepreneurs every day for a long time. We didn't solve all the mysteries of what this year will bring, but I think Andrew shared some great food for thought and real opportunities.
